Arrived at 9 o'clock in the evening, and then checkin was in the service area on the first floor of the hotel (the breakfast area the next day). The service area was locked directly. Online travel agencies said I would be charged an extra $5 on site, but in fact I was charged an extra $12.20 (+ a $100 deposit which has not yet been credited back to me). Since I was traveling for work, I needed a $0 balance receipt to document that charge, and the reception staff were unable to provide an appropriate receipt. Second, the room was cold, with air-conditioning set to 64 F when I arrived. I turned off the air conditioning, but I was cold in bed and unable to find a blanket or extra layer. If I stay again, I guess I'll bring my own blankets and will try to book differently (perhaps directly through the hotel) in hopes of getting a receipt that my travel reimbursement folks can process.
