"There was a lot of hair and unknown body hair on the bed. I didn't want to stay in that room. I went down to the lobby and asked to change rooms. There was no apology. They said they needed photos as proof, so I showed them the photos I took, but they said there were no rooms available and refused to change rooms. However, there were rooms available on the hotel reservation website. I couldn't understand it. The male staff member in the lobby came back up to the room where I was alone and took photos of the hair on the bed. I have black hair. Blonde hair is not mine. And the soundproofing was the worst. I could hear the bathroom noise and nose blowing in the next room very loudly."

"Our one-night stay was very enjoyable. We received a friendly welcome at reception, with rooms all ready. We had driven directly from London (UK) to Paderborn and the hotel's free, off-road car park was a welcome site, and located just metres from the entrance. No searching for car parking! The hotel's public areas were well decorated, clean and spacious and our rooms were comfortable with all the usual facilities. We didn't have dinner at the hotel. Our time in Paderborn was limited, so wanted to explore the city centre and dine there. Personally, I had not visited Paderborn for many, many years and was pleasantly surprised that it it hadn't changed too much. The hotel is a 15-minute cab ride from the hotel - couldn't face anymore driving - and it cost a reasonable 17 euros (for a party of three). Breakfast was great. Varied with a choice of hot and cold food and drink. All-in-all, the Waldhotel Nachtigall offers friendly and welcoming accommodation, as well as great value for money. We hope to return to Paderborn and, upon doing so, would have no hesitation in choosing this hotel."

"Breakfast review The hotel advertises the best breakfast in Paderborn. Yesterday I made a reservation for 10 people because of my birthday and asked for a nice place. This was not granted. The breakfast is also absolutely nothing special. Scrambled eggs as a concrete block. The cooked ham was the cheapest pressed meat you sometimes find on pizza. Not a bit decorated. You have to get coffee from the last corner. Almost pathetic for the best breakfast in Paderborn, sorry"
