The morning meal starts at 8 AM, so even if you arrive on the island early in the morning by an overnight ferry the day before, you can still have breakfast relatively early. I stayed in a dormitory, and the mattress was so incredibly plush that I slept unbelievably well. Highly recommended!"

"Although it is an old hotel, it has a quaint feel, and the staff was attentive and warm, making it a very nice hotel. We were given a corner room on the 4th floor of the annex building, and it was a nice Japanese-style room with a calm atmosphere reminiscent of the Showa era, with ocean views from two directions.However, the Wi-Fi signal seemed to be unstable except near the front desk. did. I stayed for two nights, and they prepared different meals for both nights, and they even accommodated my last-minute request for additional dishes. The bath was more beautiful in the morning and during the day than at night, and I felt more relaxed. When I go to Oshima again, I would like to stay here again."

"Fantastic comfortable stay with a family-run business! I stayed at Hotel Kailani during a recent trip to Izu Oshima Island (a ferry ride from Tokyo). The hotel is located on the hills of Habu Port, with waterfront views and 2 minutes walk from one of the best lookout spots on the island. The hotel was clean, quiet, spacious, with plenty of amenities and facilities, and a great breakfast cooked daily by mother and daughter. The staff are very friendly and you can really feel the care and attention that has been given to the hotel. I believe this is one of the best hotels on the island, and I highly recommend it to all travellers!"

"A very cozy and beautiful cottage on the ocean shore. We stayed for two days and would happily stay longer. Everything inside is made of wood, and the design is tasteful. There's a room with beds, a Japanese-style room with futons (we chose to sleep in that one), a loft room, and a spacious lounge area. And in the evening, it's very pleasant to soak in the bath. The host is a very nice older man."

She not only drives you, she creates an experience: taking us to the trailhead for our hike, picking us up at the onsen afterward, bringing us to a neighboring village for dinner, and even collecting us after the restaurant—all along beautiful panoramic routes. There is no rushing—she clearly takes pride in showing the beauty of the island. Another unforgettable moment was breakfast, where we enjoyed a spectacular view of Mount Fuji—simply breathtaking and the perfect way to start the day.
