The Richland ★★

"The Richland is a pleasant building, but in a very noisy location. We booked an "upgraded king", not knowing that this room opens directly on Maple Avenue and is also right on the corner of Maple and Orange. Across the street is a Culinary Dropout restaurant that had late night and very early morning truck deliveries (with trucks left running for what seemed like an eternity). During the day, the restaurant was being powerwashed up until about 6 p.m. The main hotel is set back off the street, and has to be better quieter (except, as other reviews note, during weddings, which this hotel really seems to cater to). Culinary Dropout is not yet open, but like its San Diego twin, is supposed to feature life music, sports bar, etc., so good luck with that if you decide to stay here. On a positive note, we appreciated that there is no wall to wall carpet in this room, and that you can open a window for some fresh air (and noise...)."

"It's right next to the highway exit and parking is free. It's also in a great location, just 10 minutes from Disneyland. The room was spacious and clean, and although there was no bathtub, the fact that the shower head could be removed was a big plus. The included breakfast was also very nice. The staff were all kind and friendly. I'd like to use it again."
