"Hotel is / was fraud! All people, 14 of us had a problem with rooms. Photos were taken in the rooms just prepared for guests. Then they could not change us the room anymore, because all of them are the same. Not because hotel is full, we saw at the breakfast, that hotel is not full. Some rooms can be opened without key, some could not be opened at all, some rooms you could not lock the room, some have broken toilets, some broken windows, some can be unlocked with someone elses room key, basicly most pf them are dirty, and every day I had to reactivate the key card because the system is bad in general. It does not metter is the room 3rd or 7th floore, it's fraud!!!! Wifi in hotel also fraud! Instead of resting after exploring trips, we had to deal with room problmes! Again, hotel is a fraud! Local guides told us that there are normal hotels in that price range, and gave me some names (they knew the price range because before they did hotel checking for this agency from Bosnia and Herzegovina). Industrial harbor in front of you as view. I am sorry that we did not make photo of prepared space for beakfast... There is whole restoran, but they prepare 4-5 tables and seperate them from rest of the restoran... They I realized.. that is the probably number of guests in hotel. And this is not Algier and Afrika! This is bad hotel! I am sorry I can not pplace the video of opening some rooms door, without key."

"We had an excellent 2 night stay at The Assala Hotel at the end of our 19 day trip around Algeria. Everything about the hotel was perfect. We were given a very large and comfortable suite ( room 301) with a small balcony . It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and even had a kettle and mini bar. However, I would like to comment on the reception staff who went out of their way to make our stay memorable. It was difficult to find a taxi so they even provided us with their own courtesy vehicle to take us to and from the shopping mall. We had a very reasonable lunch in the hotel restaurant and were allowed a late check out as our flight was not until the evening. The young man in reception speaks good English and his lady colleague was also most helpful so I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. A big thank you to all concerned."

"Our experience was catastrophic from beginning to end. Cleanliness was completely nonexistent: the carpet was full of crumbs, the sheets and pillows were stained, the cushions had questionable marks, the bathroom was dirty with unpleasant odors, and the toilets were clearly not cleaned often. For a hotel, this is simply unacceptable. As for the food, if it even existed, it was barely believable: overly greasy dishes (spaghetti swimming in oil), undercooked meat, a botched Polish sauce, an inedible cheesecake… and for drinks, only Coca-Cola was offered. Adding to this were unbearable odors in the restaurant from the cleaning products, which made the experience even more unpleasant. The service was also subpar: unprofessional staff, and a dilapidated elevator that didn't inspire confidence. We had booked for four nights, but the deplorable state of the room and the complete lack of hygiene forced us to cut our stay short to just two. The only positive point is its location, just steps from the seafront and the cliffs of Oran. Given the prices, we expected a minimum level of comfort and quality. Unfortunately, we mostly paid to be disappointed. This hotel clearly doesn't deserve its stars, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. With all due respect, it's urgent that management improve cleanliness, maintenance, food, and service; otherwise, this establishment will remain a place to avoid."
