"The room was large and spacious, and there was a large public bath on the first floor. It was also close to Oga Station. However, there weren't many restaurants nearby, and those that were open either closed very early (or only at lunchtime). The breakfast was plentiful and delicious! But when I arrived at the restaurant, the staff at the entrance took my meal ticket, and then when I wanted to get the fish as a main dish, they asked me to show my meal ticket again, which was very strange..."

"On my first trip to the Oga Peninsula in Akita, I chose to stay at Bettei Tsubaki for two nights. The building, rooms, and baths were all perfectly clean, and the front desk and dining staff were all extremely accommodating, making for a very comfortable trip. All the food was delicious, and dinner was served buffet style with rice, miso soup, and other dishes, so I was able to have seconds without hesitation. Breakfast was also served buffet style, with a wide variety of dishes and an abundance of local ingredients, so I was very satisfied. Thank you to all the staff at Bettei Tsubaki for the wonderful stay. I would definitely like to stay here again."

However, when we tried to use the bar in the evening, we were disappointed that the staff were constantly chatting with locals and completely ignored us. There was only one other group there and they weren't busy, so it was a shame that they treated us that way intentionally. In the end, it didn't feel like we could order anything, so we gave up and left, but even then, no one came over to us. Even if you book the most expensive room, you get this kind of treatment, and I felt that this hotel doesn't offer service commensurate with the price."

"We stayed as a family of four: a young child, a middle school-aged boy, and myself. Due to a misunderstanding on my part, we were given the wrong room type. Since we had a young child, this was a problem, but when I consulted the front desk staff, they kindly and quickly resolved the issue, providing us with a room that met our needs for only a small additional charge. It was a real lifesaver and made our trip much more enjoyable. Dinner was a barbecue with beef, pork, chicken, and seafood, and 90 minutes of self-serve, all-you-can-drink (including alcohol). There was more food than we could eat! Breakfast was a moderately sized buffet, and although we don't usually eat much for breakfast, we all ended up overeating. The hotel was very clean and the location was excellent. Neither my son nor I usually get up early, but we took a walk on the beach across the street early in the morning, searching for seashells. The children seemed quite satisfied! However, the parking lot is gravel, making it difficult to move around with a stroller. If you know beforehand, you can drop off your child in front of the hotel. The children said they had a great time, so overall, it was a very positive experience for our family!"

"We chose to stay at Oga Peninsula's Yuinoyado Bettei Tsubaki, an inn located on the coast about 3km from Nyudozaki, which is located at the northwestern tip of the Oga Peninsula. When we entered the inn, we were greeted by a Namahage statue in the lobby in front of the entrance. Our room plan was a normal Japanese-style room, with a slight view of the ocean and Mount Kanpu in the distance. The best thing about this inn is the food. The Oga Peninsula is surrounded by the ocean on three sides, so of course seafood arrives one after another. It's delicious enough in itself, but as dinner progressed, there was a demonstration of Oga's specialty, fisherman's cuisine, "stone-grilled cuisine." It's a soup dish made with seafood caught in Oga and vegetables, and a hot stone is thrown into the bucket. It was a very impressive performance. After the show, the soup was brought to our table, and it was delicious, full of the flavor of seafood and vegetables."

"We stayed in the glamping tents on our trip to see the kantou matsuri. The tent was spacious, even with 3 in the tent. The air conditioning was a life saver as it was very hot outside. We were very close to the bathroom facilities where there were toilets, showers, and kitchen space. The hotel allowed us to use the onsen in the main hotel and there was free gelato cups next to the onsen. The women's onsen was supplied with face wash, lotion, hair brush, dryer etc. We had everything we needed, and it was a great experience."

"The room was lovely, and the view of the sea was fantastic. The food was also very satisfying. We especially enjoyed the live demonstration of the stone-grilled food at dinner. The elementary school children's dinner is the same as the adult menu. It is famous for its unique hot spring where hot water gushes out of the mouth of a Namahage (demon). The color of the hot spring water seems to change every day, and the women's bath was greenish both days we stayed. I think it would be good to have disposable combs in the changing room of the hot spring. Many people bring towels from their rooms but forget their combs. There was also a shuttle service to the Namahage Taiko performance at the Oga Onsen Exchange Hall. You should definitely check it out! We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Namahage!"
