Perivoli Country Hotel & Retreat

Nafplio|3.71km from downtown
The location of the hotel is perfect and the whole establishment is very beautiful. They have really thought through the layout and the design of the hotel, lobby, pool, rooms etc. to all match the scenery nicely! Exceptional service from staff and the owner was super nice and friendly. We were very pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine and a fruit platter at our arrival and a lovely homemade jam at our departure. The first round of water and soft drinks were complimentary in our mini bar. Greek hospitality is really shining through at Perivoli Country Hotel & Retreat!!! Another plus is the delicious food served for breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. Traditional Greek dishes with a twist made out of fresh products since they have a farm to table concept. Last but not least there are a number of activities that all guests that are nature lovers or into Greek history can enjoy. The hotel provides you with a brochure with all the activities and info and many were tailored for children too. One thing to keep in mind is that you need to have a car to reach this hotel, especially if you would like to explore the area. Pyrgiotika has really nice taverns with traditional food and the hotel is also just a 10 min drive from beautiful Nafplio which is an absolute must see! Our base was Perivoli Hotel and then we would drive to Nafplio for sightseeing (Old Town, Palamidi, Bourtzi etc) as well as food/drinks etc) and it is also a short drive just 20-30 min from the beautiful sandy Karathona beach that has a few beach bars and restaurants and plenty of parking space.

Leto Nuevo Hotel

Leto Nuevo Hotel

Nafplio|4.9km from downtown
There were six of us in our group (3 bedrooms total). If you look at the hotel from the front, the lobby is over to the left and our rooms were in the addition over to the right. There were three rooms connected by a hallway and we had all three so it was kind of nice that we were the only ones in that part of the building. The rooms were fine - European so small, but modern and clean which is all I care about. The view was nice as you're up on the hill overlooking the sea, but it's probably a better view from the floor above us as we saw a lot of the tops of buildings. We had a few problems. The first morning we woke up early to get a start on the day and the water was freezing cold. I ran outside over to the looby to let the manager know, but she doesn't usually arrive until 8AM so it was just the kitchen staff getting ready for breakfast. Through Google translate I was able to explain what was happening and they called the manager who got on the phone with a plumber. Long story short, it got fixed around 9AM so we got a late start. Rick Steve's says it's not about whether or not there are issues (there always will be) but about how the staff reacts. They were pleasant. To the left of the lobby there was a hallway and at the end was an empty room that had a deluxe bathroom. I went in and turned on the water in the shower and it was hot so apparently the issue was just on our side of the building - maybe with another water heater. Then we realized that the shower doors wouldn't stay shut so the bathroom floor was covered in water - slipping hazard. We found that the trashcan next to the toilet was broken and then that the sink was draining really slowly. The staff was able to fix the shower door almost (not 100%, but close) while we were there so that was nice. Maybe if we'd been there longer it would have been okay, but our time was so precious if we don't get an early start then there are things we just don't get to do. I guess I figure when you're a hotel hot water in a shower is a basic expectation. Also, there was no ”Hey, we know you're getting a late start so breakfast is on us,” or, ”Hey, we have an empty room with a functioning shower - why don't you use that room so everybody can get clean and you can start your day.” It was more along the lines of... we have a plumber and he'll be here soon. One last thing, they did have a laundry service and they took our clothes at 10PM and we had all three bags back (dry and folded) the next morning around 8AM for 30 euros so I give them credit for that. Would I stay there again? I really don't know. There seemed to be a lot of hotels around and we were there in the off-season so there seemed to be plenty of vacancies. If I'm realistic I think I'd actually hunt around online a bit to see if we could get into a better hotel for what might be the same price.

Epoch House & the Orange Shop - Adults Only

Nafplio|0.02km from Archaeological Museum of Nafplio
Highly recommended! The location is very good, just on the edge of the Constitution Square, downstairs is the orange shop, the second floor and the third floor are rooms, the house is an old house, but the decoration is very new and modern, and the quality taste is online, the minibar is good, the linen is very comfortable, I looked at the full set of Greek local big brand COCO- MAT. Breakfast is a menu of choice, the number is not bad, Nafplio is rich in oranges, orange juice is delicious. We stayed at the B&B for the first time. This B&B subverted our impression of the B&B. Especially the linen can be said to be amazing. Generally speaking, if there is no high demand for breakfast, the standard of this B&B exceeds that of many international brand chain business hotels. Basically, it can reach the four-star level. In addition, because it is in the center of the old city, the small street next to the apartment cannot be parked. The car needs to be parked in the port parking lot or a slightly larger roadside parking space nearby (no charge for parking in the old city), but it is not too far to take the box, which is more convenient than most B&Bs on the hillside. (Ps: Apartment has elevator) In addition, if the budget is sufficient, Nafplio has a very good hotel Nafplio Palace Hotel, when we booked, we saw an evaluation that it was not convenient to eat far from the old city. We had to walk a short distance back to the hotel at night, so we didn't dare to book. When I arrived, I found that the hotel view was very good and there was a dedicated parking garage, and I could actually drive back and forth (the style and price of this Nafplio Palace can be analogous to Banyan Tree)

Hotel Vasilis

Each room of this hotel is actually a little apartment with a full kitchen. There is a balcony with a seaview. The hotel is located on top of the hill and has a view on the fortress, quiet neighborhood and easy to park nearby, great value for the price
Hotel Ippoliti

A beautiful hotel that has been stylishly refurbished in a classic style. We chose one of the larger rooms which had a sitting area, a king size bed, and a jacuzzi. It was comfortable and quiet. It had a very efficient and quiet aircon system. The common areas of the hotel had marble staircases and flooring which was really quite stunning. Breakfast was good with freshly cooked pastries on offer, but maybe could have done with muesli and fresh fruit options. The staff were very welcoming at all times. We left early before breakfast was served, but the receptionist went out of his way to provide us with coffee and freshly baked spinach tart for our journey. There is no parking at the hotel but a free public car park is nearby, however it is often busy so you may need to drive out to find a space.
Andromeda Suites

I especially enjoyed my stay at the Andromeda Hotel in Nafplio! The hotel is in what is called the “old” part of this beautiful Greek, sea-side town. It has charm as well as all of the modern conveniences. It is clean, spacious, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is modern, and the shower is a high-tech marvel! Also, the breakfast was a delight: eggs, meats, freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries, coffee... Lastly, the owners and staff could not have been more pleasant and friendly.
Amphitryon Hotel

First the room was comfortable, the view was stunning, and the staff were helpful - my sympathies to the two ladies serving breakfast one morning when all the members of two tour parties turned up at the same time. Now the downsides. There is no information, and I'm not just talking about no tourist information, though there is none in either the lobby or your room. In the lobby you will find no signs directing you where various rooms are, or the toilets, though there is one sign saying the restaurant (for breakfast) is upstairs - you just have to search it out. There is nothing in your room telling you what time breakfast is served, or how to work the curtains or the air conditioning, or even how to leave in case of fire - I thought this last was a legal requirement. There is apparently a swimming pool, I don't know where, because again there is no information. In the section below on hotel amenities I have clicked not sure on everything. The wifi is intermittent at best. The bathroom door is very heavy and slides, but has no handle, don't push it too far back, you will never get it out again, especially if you have weak wrists.

Grande Bretagne - Nafplio

We stayed her 2 nights on a group tour and it was our least favorite hotel. Desk people were efficient, but not overly friendly. Tubs are very tall and slippery so be careful. Situated right on the waterfront and close to shops. No coffee makers in the room and breakfast started at 7 AM. Kitchen staff were abrupt bordering on rude. They told several in our group to sit at tables for 2-3 even if more people were coming. Arriving a few minutes before 7 she put up the entry gate right in front of me. One person was fixing her coffee blended the way she wanted and the cup was taken from her. When she noticed someone saving something from her plate she called her out loudly in front of everyone. It made us feel like children. I think they get lots of tourists-probably rude ones, but not all of us are like that.
