"The accommodation was very convenient as it was right in front of the bus stop and less than 100 meters from a large department store, but the downside was that the facilities were old, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and most of all, the heater didn't work well even though it was midwinter. Security person who showed up later but he was talking with someone else. Meanwhile some unsolicited characters showed up. The concierge was on his break. After I asked the people parked on the reserved space to please move, I was able to check in. This must have been a nice hotel but if feels old and stale. The towels in our room where very used and thin. The bathroom downstairs is old and unkept. Not worth staying"

Location is very good only a short walk to the main street. Found a wonderful restaurant on the same street, Paraguay. "Montevideo Al Sur" well worth a visit. While the staff at reception and the housekeeping staff are friendly. The ladies at the breakfast counter are the most sullen, unfriendly and unkempt, dirty uniforms, unprofessional bunch I ever cane across. Never a good morning or a please or thank you. Somebody should tell them that if there were no guests they would not have a job. Management should step up to the mark."

"I stayed at this hostel because it was the cheapest I could find in Uruguay. They charged me twice even though I'd already paid for the check-in, but I was able to convince them by showing them the Trip.com payment page. Around 8pm, the shared kitchen was full of people, so I went to the terrace. I made friends with a group of Brazilians there and enjoyed drinking wine and listening to live music. The room had triple bunk beds, and the ladder was thin and unstable, so I was afraid to climb to the top bunk."

I didn’t mind as the room was spacious and beach view was nice but I think it was a bit impolite to change my room without even asking me/ offering an explanation. I would have also expected for a 5 star Hyatt hotel to have a bathtub and robes/slippers. However as the price was much lower than what this brand would usually be I think it is still very good value for money."
