Blue Africa ★★

📍 Plage de Mbour - BP 701, Mbour

"Shabby, dirty, rock hard mattress on concrete surface. Shower, toilet and sink in a cubicle measuring 1.5 by 1.5. Everything got wet. Toilet seat broken. Scanty breakfast with old bread. Location is beautiful by the sea. Overbooked"

The Rhino Resort Hotel & Spa
8.2 (47 reviews)

The Rhino Resort Hotel & Spa ★★★★★

📍 CXVP+CGP, Rue Du Karting S/n, Rte de Saly, Saly Portudal

"Staff is extremely rude, yells at clients, damages clients properties when cleaning without even giving an apology or acknowledging it. Breakfast is very basic. Wood floors in the rooms make lots of noise when walking. Staff is very curious and stare a lot. This is not a 5 stars hotel!"

Neptune
8.3 (48 reviews)

Neptune ★★★

📍 BP 742, Saly Portudal

"Excellent stay at the Neptune hotel! Hotel on a human scale, very well maintained with staff of remarkable quality. We had a wonderful week with two children aged 4 and 6. Beautiful swimming pool with a section suitable for young swimmers. Diverse meals with quality products for lunch and dinner (accompanied every evening by an orchestra/musicians). The +'s: Everything with a special + for the kindness and good humor of all the staff (from reception to the restaurant via the shop) The -': Nothing Point of improvement: a beach bag to provide in the rooms to go to the beach or swimming pool (to put towels etc.)"

📍 Serere Souf, Mbour

"It’s a nice guesthouse with sea view rooms. The outside area with a small swimming pool is pleasant. The staff are nice and the food is reasonably priced and good. Unfortunately the location is a bit far from Mbour and Saly and the beachfront is very dirty. The Wi-Fi is rather weak. However if you want to escape from it all, it’s a good place."

Le Saly Hotel & Hotel Club Filaos - All Inclusive

Le Saly Hotel & Hotel Club Filaos - All Inclusive ★★★★

📍 CXQP+Q4R BP 69, Rte de Saly Saly Portudal, M'bour, Saly Portudal

"Hotel Filaos was overbooked, we had to go to another hotel with 17 others, we were in Sally, the hotel next door, the 1st room had not yet been cleaned, we were given another room with the dirty towels still in it. All inclusive was limited in terms of cocktails, only non-alcoholic juices. In the afternoon we went to another hotel, where a week later we spoke to people who had just arrived and again Filaos was overbooked. They have to take this hotel off the list, a lot of stress"

Mövenpick Resort Lamantin Saly

Mövenpick Resort Lamantin Saly ★★★★★

📍 Saly Nord, Saly Portudal

"It's a nice environment, but the staff is not performing at there best. There was a room service tray from someone else placed in front of my room. I asked before going to breakfast to have it removed. After 2 hours it was still there. I placed it in the middle of the grass, and even then staff passed and did not take it away. I told it again at reception, and then finally it was solved. The wifi in the rooms further away from reception is non existent or poor. In the shower the shower gel was empty, and not replaced before arrival.i don't smoke but the ashtray was full before arrival. It's not the level of a Movempick Resort. Also at night, very difficult to find your room, because the room numbers are not illuminated, you have to use your cellphone with light to find it."

Les Manguiers de Guereo
8.7 (15 reviews)

Les Manguiers de Guereo ★★★

📍 Piste de, Guereo, Mbour

"The site is beautiful, but the service is terrible. 1. Getting to the lodge was a headache because GPS/Google Maps directed us to Somone, and we had to take a dirt road from Somone to Sindia for over 18 minutes to reach the lodge. It’s better to call them to ensure you take the shortest route. When we called, the person on the phone couldn’t give us the correct directions. 2. Once there, we arrived at 9:57 PM and were informed that the restaurant was closed, despite the official closing time being 10:00 PM. We told them we had called the reception around 9:30 PM and mentioned we were on our way, so they could have taken our order, but anyway... The driver had to stay on-site and went a few kilometers to the nearest restaurant, which was supposed to close at 11:00 PM, to get food. Despite the fact that we ordered before the driver moving, the food went out around Midnight. The food in the area is extremely expensive. 3. I booked a Garden Suite, which was not only poorly lit (Suite 6), but we were not informed of the room number and couldn’t remember if it was 6 or 9 (looking at the number on the key couldn't help). At one point, I had to go alone to find the driver (because there was no one at reception at midnight when he came from that restaurant). In the rain, I helped the driver unload the luggage, and we got lost (again, the suite is not lit outside). 6 is not 9 .... 4. On facilities, there was no fridge or phone in the room, and the WiFi didn’t work in the room. 5. The service was extremely slow; we ordered dinner at 8:39 PM, and it was served at 10:42 PM after numerous follow-ups (using a mobile phone since there was no room phone), all this for a supposed 4-star suite. When placing our dinner order, we brought the menu from the room. After repeating our order more than three times, the server told us that the menu we had was outdated and that the stack of menus in front of us was more recent. He threw the old menu into the trash in front of us and asked us to choose our dishes again. Throughout this scene, we were standing, and the server left us to pass the order to his colleague at the computer. Even his colleague was shocked by the lack of professionalism. We didn’t receive a receipt to sign that night after two hours of waiting, and when we pointed out the issues, the server had nothing to say except “we are all Senegalese” when we mentioned sharing our experience online. 6. Oh, and the toilet doesn’t have trash bins. You have to go outside in the bathroom to find one !"

Hotel Royam ★★★★
"Overall it’s pretty good! Advantages: The room is in the style of an African hut, has a balcony, is close to the beach, the swimming pool is large, and the people are very welcoming! Disadvantages: The price is really high, the beaches in Africa are really not comparable to those in Southeast Asia, the breakfast is very unfamiliar, and the TV only has French channels!"

Blue Africa ★★
"A hotel located on the small coast in Senegal in a quiet area, because a little bit out of the way from Saly. The place lives up to the photos and is completely idyllic. We arrived there on a Sunday morning at 3am and were welcomed because the reception is open 24 hours a day. The birdsong accompanies you as soon as you wake up and breathtaking landscapes with a view of the sea are there, including the splendid sunsets. The hotel staff is very pleasant and attentive. The manager, Fodé, is very proactive and is constantly trying to improve the quality of service at his establishment. We were even able to stay until 5pm without a supplement on the day of our departure. The price we were able to obtain, thanks to Opodo prime, was totally correct compared to the service which was half-board. Breakfast consisted of bread, butter, jam and Bissap as well as coffee and tea. Dinner consisted of a main course and a dessert decided by the chef who cooks relatively well overall. We ate a delicious beef bourguignon in particular. We highly recommend this establishment and have wonderful memories of it. The month"

"Very warm hotel with very large rooms that can accommodate up to 3 couples. In fact these are small villas. Very interesting value for money. On the food side, excellent apart from the price of the wines... Quality musical entertainment."

Hotel Riu Baobab - All Inclusive ★★★★★
"This hotel is very good and beautiful. The dinner buffet has a wide variety of options and free alcoholic beverages. The staff provides excellent service and check-in was quick. However, the room lacks amenities which I expect from a five-star hotel. There should be toothbrushes or slippers, but there weren't."

Les Manguiers de Guereo ★★★
"This hotel is a shame for the prices they charge and quality of service they provide! To pay 200 euros per night for a very basic room, no sleep, airconditioner positioned on top of your head, huge noise from the AC of neighbour room, nothing to eat for breakfast, waited long time for them to bring a piece of bread and a yogurt, they use the frozen pastries that they heat, by the time they put on the table it turns immediately hard, impossible to eat, all pastries, all cakes, bread, you can not eat, no cheese, no yogurt, I have never seen such a poor breakfast, good that I had with me the bread and cheese from home, my baby starved for 2 days, the meaks at restaurant very poor, very untasty, will never go to this hotel, can not immagine people to like it!"
