"We liked this place. It's in a secluded spot with gardens and stream around it. We found Roger, the host, to be delightful, yes maybe a little quirky. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good, everything except the kirsch which wasn't fresh but everything else for breakfast was top notch. We'd go back in an instant."

"We have stayed there 4 times over the years and can't recommend it highly enough. It is a unique place which has been lovingly repurposed from a jail to a small hotel by Josh, its owner who is a potter and an artist. His beautiful pottery is everywhere. Rooms are large and beds are comfy but what makes it so special is the friendly staff. There is a restaurant as well and they often feature live local entertainment, including the ballad swap performed by local Appalachian singers who are keeping their traditions alive. Go out of your way to stay here!"

"We had an excellent stay for the location and price. I forgot to print our concert tickets and staff went above and beyond to get the tickets printed for us. Due to traffic we were also running late not only did the tickets get printed fast, check in was fast. We will definitely be back in the future."

"Pro-Great location off the main highway into Asheville. Close to town and walking distance to a few restaurants and shopping. Friendly staff, very attentive. Con- Dirty floors through out and especially in the shower stall and room carpet (#324). Some cleaning supervision would probably correct this issue quickly. Would consider again if they correct cleaning supervision issues."
