Le Palme
"AWFUL HOTEL Recently stayed with a group, had a very large amount of money stolen from the safe. Cleaner made petty trips to our room, e.g to drop 2 towels off yet there was 4 of us in a room and made no effort of cleaning. On this occasion we came back from the beach and found over €300 euros missing. Hotel explained we must have been stealing off each other & the cleaner has been there 20 years so it couldn’t have been them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS"
Pyrgos Blue
"This was the second time we have visited Pyrgos Blue and it won’t be the last. The hotel has an undeniable charm, that emanates from the warmth of the family. On a practical level, the rooms are beautifully clean, large comfortable beds, and everything you need for a relaxing stay. Im sorry I didn’t get the cleaners name but she deserves a mention as she is there from dawn to dusk and works so hard! However, the appeal of the place is not just the stunning views, blue sea wherever you look, sunshine galore… but it’s the way the family make the customers feel so at home. You receive a warm and friendly welcome every day, the same faces.. working so hard yet always greet you with a smile. Manos is the funniest person there, not only has a great sense of humour but also the ability to speak to anyone in their level, and kindly explains things to you about the local area, or food or places of interest. Toula is a wonderful lady, graceful and kind. Helpful and makes delicious food for us. Nothing is too much to ask for, Toula will get it done! Then their adult son and daughter Elena and Vangelis, who both work the bar are also very hard working and helpful, always bringing a sense of calm and peace to the place. The overall ambience is a holiday where you can do as much or as little as you like. I love that it is not a big hotel, full of loud, annoying, drunk Brits…( and I am British by the way) … But instead, it’s a comfortable, peaceful place you can read your books and be left alone. The food is great, lots of restaurants to try close by..I’d recommend Avli and Odas to try. If you are looking for somewhere to chill, where you can find peace and tranquility, look no further. We can’t wait to go back!"
Creta Verano Hotel
"Really good facilities the manager in charge was helpful and made it easy and quality of place was good"
Newcastle Studios
"What a lovely friendly family run hotel staff were very friendly attentive and polite. Rooms cleaned often old town on your door step walking distance. Hope to see you soon . Room 107"
Golden Bay Apartments-Garden Haven
"What can we say, from arrival to depart, Akis absolutely looked after us both. From check in, to recommendations of places to visit, restaurants and even offered run us to the airport if our taxi at 3am didn't turn up! The hotel is lovely, clean, and with beautiful gardens, let photos speak for self. Location is perfect, no noise even though close to strip. Peaceful around pool. We had a lovely stay for the week, with Akis and family making us very welcome. Thank you!"
Sarpidon Apartments
"Pleased with the experience here at the The Sarpidon. I found it to be very clean, friendly and as a solo traveller( 3rd time in Crete) , the clientele is made up of plenty of frequent visitors who were wonderful to meet and chat too. The lovely Anne and Peter, Jane and Michelle and the hilarious Marie from Ireland - in promise I will return the glass 😇. The rapport the staff have with visitors is priceless. You could have paid 10 times the cost and still not received the attention and friendliness that I feel I had received here . Apologies to Dora who had to chase me down the street because I forgot to pay for my last snack - 100 m sprint better than an Olympic event. So sorry Dora 🙏. Won’t happen again 🫣. Situated right in the centre of Old Malia, close to a very convenient travel route that can take you from one end of the island to the other, with buses coming every 20 minutes. Take a walk out of the west exit of hotel and you find yourself in a delightful and quaint Old Village of Malia , rich in historic buildings, some converted into stunning restaurants and picture postcard beautiful streets. Sarpido also offers delicious meals and drinks reasonably priced and plenty on offer . The beach is in walking distance about 400 m or so but the beach on Malia is squeezed with so many sunbeds you’re near on top of each other - preferred the lovely cove at Hersonnisos 24 or around the pool the days I wasn’t off exploring. Sarpidon is ideally situated, surrounded by a stunning backdrop of mountains yet has everything you need for a memorable, relaxing holiday . Highly recommend. Keep Euros and change . Much preferred than card ."
Villa Mare Monte ApartHotel
"Absolutely 💯 we can’t fault it, we arrived close on 9pm as we was staying half board the lovely manageress still made sure we had a three course meal cooked by the great chefs who served the most mouth watering meals throughout our 7 night stay…. I just wished I could take her home with us 🤣 As it was our 20th wedding anniversary we had complimentary bottle of champagne in our room, what a lovely surprise, The staff worked extremely hard and enjoyed many chats with the guests, having a laugh and making you feel homely and welcome, to say renaming my husband the English Cypriot 🤭 Honestly a memorable holiday, laid back, great views, excellent accommodation couldn’t ask for more! Looking forward returning!"
Maria Rousse

High Beach Resort
"I was spending a bit more than a week together with my family at the resort. One of our highlights were the massages by Pavlos in the High Beach Spa. We went there every second day and left feeling relaxed and light as a feather!"
Sunvillage Malia Boutique Hotel and Suites
"This was our second visit to this hidden little gem & like the first time, it didn’t disappoint. We again stayed in the villas with our own private pool. So peaceful & relaxing whilst only being a short walk to the main strip & beach, perfect location. Very clean & comfortable, thank you to Marina & family for making our holiday amazing again. Special thanks to housekeeping for doing an amazing job everyday, they work so hard."

Aeolos Beach Resort
"It's a nice, well-maintained hotel in a beautiful location on the beach and on the edge of Malia. The staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended"
Ikaros Beach, Luxury Resort & Spa - Adults Only
"The complex is what really stands out at Ikaros beach hotel. It's very different from your average hotel layout. It's spacious and beautiful, located right by the sea. A 10 star in that aspect. As we drove in the entrance all the people on the transfer bus were commenting on how good the hotel looked. We had a garden view twin room, which was well equipped, with a safe, aircon, robes, slippers, hairdryer, a fridge, coffee machine... and bathroom scales! The bathroom was modern, with a powerful shower. It was cleaned everyday. We had a lovely big patio area, where we could see the sea in the distance. I found the cocktails were of a high standard, not weak like most all inclusive hotels. Premium spirits were definitely being used! All the staff work incredibly hard and are friendly. I will be honest the food in the buffet restaurant wasn't mind blowing for a 5 star, most dishes were quite bland - but hey that's just my opinion, and in comparison to other 5 star hotels, I have had much better. However, you get to use the Italian, Asian and Greek restaurant for 1 night each, which definitely breaks it up. I'd recommend bringing a jacket as the restaurants are outside (in early season, maybe not mid summer), and get them booked up fairly soon at guest relations. Evening entertainment varied each evening from musicians to singers. There are 2 pool areas, the main one has a bar, a seating area and bean bags along with plenty of sunbeds. There's also a beach area with lots of sunbeds available. The gym and spa is a fantastic facility, the best hotel gym I've experienced, with many fitness classes available. Location wise, the complex is about a 15 minute walk into Malia, take a left outside the hotel, we found the beautiful old town part, which has an amazing restaurant 'Avli', which I highly recommend if you like to eat out on holiday - you can book online, we went twice, it's so reasonably priced! There are many bars and restaurants along the roadside, although it is quite derelict along that route in places. However, if you take a right outside the hotel and enjoy a stroll there are many restaurants, bars and shops there too which leads to Stalida (this is a much nicer area)"

"The two-day stay was way too expensive for the hotel, knowing that there are people staying there for half the price—though for a week. However, it is a nice, large hotel where the low-rise design adds value."
Alexander Beach Hotel & Village Resort
"Amazing stuff and crew. Everyone is so friendly and has such a high service awarness. The hotel is beautiful, calm, great location in Malia! Thank you."
Enorme Ammos Beach
"We had a massage here at Ammos beach spa and wow, nothing but great things to say. Mikela and Alexandra was amazing. Didn’t realize how strong their hands are."
Akrogiali Beach Hotel Apartments
"What can I say: what a lovely place and so kind people…. Due to technical problems of the plane we only ari ed at 330am! In the hotel, we called mrs Lula and 5 min later she was there with a big smile in the middle of the night 😍 we were very grateful! And the appartement had a nice terrace on the pool, where you can drink and eat from 9 till 9, swimming pool has a good size and the see is 30 meters away We really recommend this place!"
Golden Sun Boutique
"The owners went out of their way to ensure our comfort as much as they could. They even helped us out with a scale for our luggage. Our overall experience was good, however the reason that I give it only 4 stars is that there were material/structural improvements that could have improved our stay. The key switched everything off when removed from its slot inside the room, which was annoying, so, we had to use our phone lights to lock and unlock the door, that had a massive hole at the bottom where our mosquito visitors came in at night lol. Also, be aware, if you're tall or a bit on the heavy side, you wont fit on the toilet. They can also do with changing the bedding more than 1ce as it happened once on our week-long stay. Even though the cleaner came three times, she changed the bedding only on the Friday, as i saw the stains that were on the sheets before she showed up still there afterwards. Their policy states tht they change every second day, but i think something went wrong, which i'll discount to human error. But these are mino things other than which I would have given this establishment 5 stars, as the rest of our experience was very good."
Neon Hotel
"I don't understand why this hotel has so many dodgy reviews. It is a lovely hotel and the staff are so lovely and helpful. Maid service daily and it is located right in the middle of everything and on the beach. Lovely pool and not very busy so you can always get a sunbed and enjoy a dip. Yes it is a little dated but it's still lovely. Would definitely recommend and we intend coming back for sure!"
Kristalli Hotel Apartments
"Stayed here for a little over a week with my friends as part of an Easyjet package holiday. The hotel is very nice, clean and quiet with a mix of different types of guests. All of the staff here couldn’t do enough for you and were all so lovely and helpful throughout our stay (special mentions go to the lady behind the pool bar and the security guard who helped me and my friends to our rooms on several occasions after a night on the strip!) The rooms were well equipped and were clean and comfortable. Bedding was changed and fresh towels were provided daily. The pool area was a great place for us to be during the day. Plenty of seating both in the sun and the shade. Pool bar was very reasonably priced and had a large menu of drinks and food. Staff were also very helpful with food allergies and were extremely attentive. The hotel is in a good location, with a shop, restaurant/ cafe/ bar and chemist all within 5 to 10 minutes. The strip is around 15 to 20 minutes away and the beach is about 20 to 25 minutes away (on foot). The only downsides to this hotel are that you have to pay for air conditioning which if I remember correctly is €15 per night. I can understand why they do this however it was quite expensive. When using the shower, water floods the entire bathroom which made the floor very slippery and we were having to wear our sliders in the bathroom in order to not get wet following. Finally, during the day the gates are open and unmanned. Meaning that anyone walking past can just walk into the grounds of the hotel which did create a slight feeling of insecurity. Overall this hotel couldn’t have been much better and really made our holiday. Should I ever return to Malia/ Crete, I will most definitely be staying here. Thank you all once again."
Koni Village Hotel
"Despite the steep paths and flights of steps, and the 20 minute walk to the beach, I enjoyed staying here. The season was only one day old when we arrived but everyone soon got into the swing of things and any little glitch was quickly put right. The staff were all great. The food was good and the alcohol was always on tap, though I would have liked a more extensive choice of cocktails. Our room was large but our bathroom was so tiny, I had to go in sideways it was so cramped. There are no lifts in any of the blocks and although we were able to manage our luggage, I felt for those people had to struggle up 3 flights of stairs to reach their rooms, having dragged their cases up some very steep paths. The bus stops were more or less outside the hotel and the buses were cheap, frequent and easy to so exploring from this hotel was easy."
Sirens Beach & Village
"Perfect hotel especially for family with small kids, big garden and palms trees, mini golf, playgrounds and activities for sport at pool, gym, intertainment theater. Foods are many options. Experienced crete Massage with Ms Eleni it was very good especially for my back pain. The photographer Angy she was super amazing, we did family photo shooting with her as well , we so happy with her amazing job.Staff Restaurant some are very friendly especially Maria. Hotel are huge I would say it's like a resort, there are another rooms at Bravo which are very nice . We stay at the room with beach view terrace was perfect. There is a little sweet café serving traditional crete coffee was my favorites spot."
Sentido Kyknos Beach Adults Only
"The massage was very professional and the team very heartwarming. Sophia was so sweet and responded to all my wishes and needs. Thank you!"
Philoxenia Hotel & Spa
"The rooms were alright and the poolarea and spa is pretty nice. However the service from the boys at the site was awful. Almost borderline threatening in their tone. The breakfast was below average. The bar was a bit pricy and what they offered didn’t really taste great. But at least the rooms were alright with good balconies. And as I said, they have a nice poolarea. The area is great if you like to party. And we did."
