Le Palme
"AWFUL HOTEL Recently stayed with a group, had a very large amount of money stolen from the safe. Cleaner made petty trips to our room, e.g to drop 2 towels off yet there was 4 of us in a room and made no effort of cleaning. On this occasion we came back from the beach and found over €300 euros missing. Hotel explained we must have been stealing off each other & the cleaner has been there 20 years so it couldn’t have been them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS"
Pyrgos Blue
"This was the second time we have visited Pyrgos Blue and it won’t be the last. The hotel has an undeniable charm, that emanates from the warmth of the family. On a practical level, the rooms are beautifully clean, large comfortable beds, and everything you need for a relaxing stay. Im sorry I didn’t get the cleaners name but she deserves a mention as she is there from dawn to dusk and works so hard! However, the appeal of the place is not just the stunning views, blue sea wherever you look, sunshine galore… but it’s the way the family make the customers feel so at home. You receive a warm and friendly welcome every day, the same faces.. working so hard yet always greet you with a smile. Manos is the funniest person there, not only has a great sense of humour but also the ability to speak to anyone in their level, and kindly explains things to you about the local area, or food or places of interest. Toula is a wonderful lady, graceful and kind. Helpful and makes delicious food for us. Nothing is too much to ask for, Toula will get it done! Then their adult son and daughter Elena and Vangelis, who both work the bar are also very hard working and helpful, always bringing a sense of calm and peace to the place. The overall ambience is a holiday where you can do as much or as little as you like. I love that it is not a big hotel, full of loud, annoying, drunk Brits…( and I am British by the way) … But instead, it’s a comfortable, peaceful place you can read your books and be left alone. The food is great, lots of restaurants to try close by..I’d recommend Avli and Odas to try. If you are looking for somewhere to chill, where you can find peace and tranquility, look no further. We can’t wait to go back!"
Creta Verano Hotel
"Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The hotel only met the absolute minimum standards, and I certainly wouldn’t choose to stay here again. The biggest issue was the manager, who was extremely disrespectful during every interaction we had. On our first arrival, while discussing our room allocation, we were shockingly referred to as “stupid UK people.” This was completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and made us feel unwelcome from the start. The only positive aspect of our stay was the cleaning staff. They were polite, friendly, and did a good job keeping the rooms clean, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the beds were also very uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Overall, between the rude management, uncomfortable beds, and poor customer service, this was a bad experience. The hardworking cleaning staff deserve credit, but they couldn’t make up for the way we were treated by management."
Newcastle Studios
"Unbelievable from start to finish. Not a good experience. The manager was not a nice person, the only thing that was good was the breakfast I had on one visit. After that I went somewhere else. No rapport, just awful. He had no respect for disabled people"
Golden Bay Apartments-Garden Haven
"Golden Bay is a very nive place to stay. It is very quiet and not crowdy. Also Malia is nice little town. It is close to the sea (about 500 meters). And Akis (hotel manager) is a very nice person who can give you nice tips and helping if you need."
Sarpidon Apartments
"would definitely recommend these apartments. I was worried it was going to be mostly young people , but it was a very mixed age group and there was a lovely vibe about the place. The staff are so friendly, the place very clean, and the location was perfect. Once you closed your doors at night, you couldn't hear any noise. Even sitting on the balcony was very peaceful. The food was also very nice and reasonably priced and the local restaurants in the old town are well worth a visit"
Villa Mare Monte ApartHotel
"This aparthotel is ideal for people seeking a quiet place to stay away from the busy resort of Malia. It is situated on a hillside with views of the distant sea. Our room provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved the delicious home cooked 3 course evening meals and breakfast buffet. This family run hotel is in excellent condition with a lovely swimming pool and outdoor games area. The walk into Malia town takes about 20 minutes and we learnt to avoid the strenuous walk back up the hill by taking a back road with more gentle slopes. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and well looked after."
Maria Rousse
"Just returned from Maria Rousse studios as a solo last minute trip. I booked based on the price and the reviews as the majority were excellent! I must agree this place is so beautiful and clean, the gardens are immaculate, staff were always friendly and helpful . No problem getting a sunbed in the morning which makes a pleasant change. The atmosphere was so chilled and I had the best relaxing week! The old town which was 10 minutes walk away was absolutely beautiful, lots of restaurants to chose from away from the main strip. Great idea not to charge for air con as keeps the price low but there if you need it, makes perfect sense so you're not paying for something you might not need, especially out of season . Thank you George and Barbara for a really lovely time at your beautiful place!"
Dedalos Hotel
"Can't understand negative reviews....fantastic hotel, clean rooms and public areas cleaned daily, comfortable beds, blackout curtains (missed breakfast a few times)! Large fridge, wardrobe with plenty of hangers. Breakfast has plenty of choices. Lovely pool area all in all a great hotel in a good location and excellent value for money. Will definitely return."

Niko Elen
"Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Greeted with rules: Don’t leave anything on the floor Take your breakfast dishes and cups back and scrape food off and put cutlery in a separate pot Wash your feet outside if you have been to the beach Don’t put anything on top of cupboard it might get scratched Don’t bring your own drinks to the pool (even though the bar wasn’t in use) hence I had to go to a different hotel and pay to spend my day there. The bathroom smelled of urine (leaky toilet) The shower area had nothing to stop the water flooding the whole bathroom and outside the bathroom which made it slippery and dangerous. The towels and sheets weren’t changed for over a week Cleaning very poor bed covers just thrown on the bed Breakfast was very poor and we had to pay to get it somewhere else Had a 11.45pm flight and asked to keep the room and this was refused! Asked if we could shower somewhere and was told we could use the shower outside (the one to clean sand off your feet)"
Mila Malia Studios Hotel
"Normaly i dont write reviews but for this place i had to The rooms are huge and sooo clean the view is a miracle wake up and have a fantastic sea view . The owner vicky is unbelievable sbe is so helpfulk and friendly ready to help and always with a big smile The breakfast was fantastic and sooo fresh we could collect vegetables and herbs from the hotel garden What about the food we had a halfborad reservation and we were served by the waiter and all was fresh cooked portions huge and the most important it was so fresh THANK YOU VICKY SEE YOU FOR SURE AGAIN"
Laplaya Beach
"We visited for the day to use the sun loungers on the beach. Sun loungers were €12 for two plus parasol. Great quality loungers and luxurious thick and comfy mattresses. Quiet side of Malia beach and great spot. Had the best strawberry daiquiris we’ve had,the other cocktails were good too! The owners gave us some free crisps,I think it’s because we spent quite a few euros on cocktails 😂 A little bit of quiet music would enhance it though in our opinion. We had a great afternoon down at the beach."
Melissa Apartments, Studios & Suites
"Lovely quiet place to stay. Bar/Swimming pool nice and chill. Reasonable prices. Cristina is a lovely person who works behind the bar during the day!!! She’s so sweet. We enjoyed staying here. Nice and friendly. Thank you everyone , we hope to see you again when we return to Crete."
Enorme Ammos Beach
"I had a deep massage and hydration facial with Alexandra who was amazing! I nearly fell asleep it was so great. Highly recommend, they have a great range of services here ☺️"
High Beach Resort
"I was spending a bit more than a week together with my family at the resort. One of our highlights were the massages by Pavlos in the High Beach Spa. We went there every second day and left feeling relaxed and light as a feather!"
Phāea Cretan Malia, a Member of Design Hotels
"The two-day stay was way too expensive for the hotel, knowing that there are people staying there for half the price—though for a week. However, it is a nice, large hotel where the low-rise design adds value."
High Beach White - Adults Only
"The "High Beach White" is an adults-only resort—a place for guests who prefer a quieter atmosphere. We had a room with a private pool. The beds and mattresses were incredibly comfortable. I've never slept so well on vacation. It was heavenly. The resort is very clean, and they make sure it stays that way. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive. Sun loungers and parasols are assigned to specific room numbers. The food at the High Beach Buffet Restaurant is varied—there's something for everyone. The "Elia Restaurant" also offers à la carte dining. Brunch is served at 10:30, followed by a three-course menu or snacks from 12:00, and a five-course menu from 18:30 (table reservations required the day before). Absolutely delicious! For guests with UAI (All Inclusive) at the resort, snacks and refreshments are even delivered to their sun loungers. Absolutely fantastic! The evening program features concerts (traditional Greek music), DJs, and dance groups (traditional Cretan dances). If you're looking for relaxation with a touch of luxury, then the "High Beach White" is a must-visit in Malia. It's the place to be! We had a wonderful 14 days and lacked for nothing. A huge thank you to all the staff. Every single one contributed to making our holiday a dream come true."
Aeolos Beach Resort
"the hotel has an amazing beach and swimming pool. the bedrooms are clean and quiet, and the service is good. breakfast and dinner are good."
Malia Mare Hotel
"DO NOT STAY HERE SAVE YOUR MONEY! upon arrival we was greeted by the manager who gave us 0 information about the hotel and then demand €70 deposit and €17 tax for the week and didn’t want to explain any of this! And then gave us keys to a dirty room and when going downstairs to say she ignored me and just handed me another set of keys honestly the staff are beyond rude in that hotel! The cleaners walk in your room when they fancy and don’t bother to Knock or apologise for just walking in! The only good thing about this hotel is the pool area absolutely beautiful! The towels get changed when the cleaners can be bothered we had one set of towels for 7 days they just hang them over the balcony to dry and the bedding doesn’t get changed once in your stay! the breakfast? If you can even call it that is stale and covered in flys. Honestly save your money and go somewhere else and the hotel is hell. Be careful with your deposit if your a couple because they will say they don’t take deposits from couples but they certainly do as they took €70 from us. Should have read the reviews before coming here really because loads of others say the exact same thing."
Akrogiali Beach Hotel Apartments
"Located right next to the beach, this is probably the best hotel in Crete! The rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotless clean. The staff are super friendly and efficient. We’ve been here for 8 wonderful days, so highly recommended 😊"
Sunvillage Malia Boutique Hotel and Suites
"Fleas! Booked a luxury villa with private pool, the pool side furniture was all infested with fleas. My partner and myself left with over 50 flea bites between us, when we informed the manager Marina, she said it was 'just nature' and refuses to accept that this is a pest problem. We have had to boil wash all our belongings and treat our cases with flea spray before we could go home so we don't risk infecting our house"
Koni Village Hotel
"First of all, please note that the hotel is located on a hill, so keep that in mind before booking. It is also a 3-star hotel, which should be taken into consideration when evaluating the overall experience. We stayed there for 10 days and had a pleasant stay. The hotel staff were friendly, the area was clean, and the swimming pool was nice as well. The food was somewhat repetitive, but it was tasty. What surprised me positively was the variety of meat options available, including rabbit, duck, and lamb, which was a nice change from the usual selection. On the other hand, I missed having more fresh fruit. Watermelon, grapes, or different types of melon were not available. In the mornings, only grapefruit was served, and later in the day there were mainly apples, pears, and oranges. The snack selection was rather limited, consisting mostly of pastries, which was a bit disappointing for us. Room cleaning was generally okay. However, we once had a shortage of toilet paper because none was provided for two days, and we had to ask for some at the reception. We also occasionally noticed small leftovers on the floor after cleaning. The overall atmosphere was pleasant. However, I believe the restaurant manager was sometimes a bit too loud and overly familiar for my taste. One thing I did not appreciate was the way he occasionally addressed some of the female staff members when there seemed to be an issue. Such conversations should ideally take place privately and away from guests. If there is a problem, it would be more professional to discuss it quietly in a separate area rather than in front of customers. Apart from that, the staff were generally friendly and helpful. Overall, though, it was a good stay for the price we paid, and we were satisfied with the value for money."
Alexander Beach Hotel & Village Resort
"Amazing stuff and crew. Everyone is so friendly and has such a high service awarness. The hotel is beautiful, calm, great location in Malia! Thank you."
Sirens Beach & Village
"Hotel has great atmosphere located in nice garden with 3 pools. I received great service, good selection of food. Rooms are clean. I must also recommend spa team. Eleni provided great Cretan massage. Can recommend."
Ikaros Beach, Luxury Resort & Spa - Adults Only
"My experience and treatments exceeded my expectations. Dimitri is so well trained, knowledgeable and experienced and paid particular attention to the tricky areas, with a strong and effective massage. I had another massage a few days later with Dimitri too, with a mud body mask and facial too. All the treatments were wonderful."
