Sarpidon Apartments ★★★
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Best Place to Stay in Malia! We honestly cannot recommend this place enough — it is truly the best place to stay in Malia! From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome and completely at home. Dora and her staff made our holiday even more special with the way she looked after us. Her kindness and hospitality were incredible, and she made us feel like part of the family. We actually ended up staying longer because we simply didn’t want to leave! The hotel has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and you genuinely feel like you’re part of the family rather than just another guest. The whole experience has been amazing, and we cannot wait to come back next year. And the funniest part is… we haven’t even left yet and we’re already missing it! 😂 Thank you so much for making our holiday so special. We will definitely be back! ❤️ Diolch 🏴 Ευχαριστώ 🇬🇷"
Pyrgos Blue ★★★★
"Absolutely perfect stay, family hotel (small structure) on the beach located 10 minutes from the lively center of Malia, quiet, relaxing location with superb views. Very comfortable and very well equipped rooms. Very good quality all-day snack. Thanks to Héléna, Manos and their team for their friendly welcome. Very good little Cretan restaurants with superb terraces in old Malia."
Maria Rousse ★★★
"A lovely holiday! Went on girls holiday in July and had the most amazing experience and time. The location was perfect less then 5 min walk to Malia strip. 10 min walk from the beach. 5 min walk to old town Malia. Supermarket at the end of the road. No need for taxis or Ubers due to ideal location. We had 2 rooms a 3 bed and a 2 bed. Both rooms had kitchen facilities and was beautful and spacious. The staff was amazing and the most loveliest and friendly team from bar staff to reception to security. Made you feel very welcomed and safe. The hotel had 2 large pools and plenty of sun beds. The food and drinks were great value for money and cheap and good quality. I would 100% recommended this hotel and would come back and stay in the future, no doubts or faults. Honestly "
Neon Hotel ★★
"Great family hotel which is run by a big Greek family. Aristora and her sister Maria were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and our room was cleaned and fresh towels every day. We had the Greek breakfast in the hotel for 8 Euro, which consisted of watermelon, breads, eggs, cheese, cereal, meats, cakes, fruit, toast, jams, tea and coffee. The hotel is on the seafront and access to the beach made it a great location. Shops and bars within metres of the hotel. There were no sunbed wars here! Snack and food served throughout the day and a plentiful bar. The seaview rooms cost extra and next time we will be booking one of those."
Creta Verano Hotel ★★★
"Really good facilities the manager in charge was helpful and made it easy and quality of place was good"
Hotel Matheo Villas & Suites ★★★★
"Please read this before booking this hotel! To begin with, the hotel is very clean and well maintained. The pool is spotless and pleasant to spend time in and around. The area around the restaurant and pool is also a big plus. However, the first thing you are met with at check-in is a tourist tax of €70 for a seven-night stay. This came as a surprise because it is a significant amount of money that could have been spent on many other things during the holiday. We then asked about pool towels and were told that they could be “rented” for €5 per person. The towels were very worn out and faded. They were not replaced or washed at any point during the week, which meant they became quite dirty by the end of our stay. All of the pool towels were different colours, brands and styles, and they clearly looked old and heavily used. Personally, I got the impression that they were towels left behind by previous guests and that the hotel now charges guests to use them. If the towels were considered dirty when returned, there was also an additional cleaning fee. For €5, I could have bought a brand-new towel in a local shop. At a four-star hotel, I expected pool towels to be provided as part of the service. There were many small things that, together, created the impression that the hotel is more focused on making money than providing good service. For example, at a four-star hotel I expect at least shampoo and conditioner to be available in the room. They do not have to be luxury products, but there should be something. There was nothing, so we had to buy our own. The minibar was also completely empty. And the WiFi didn’t really work so well up in the rooms, but it was ok in the poolarea. At the pool area, guests are not even allowed to bring their own bottled water if it was purchased outside the hotel. I understand not allowing outside food or snacks, but water should be an exception. The exact same bottle of water costs around €0.80 in a nearby shop but €3 at the hotel. In addition, you are not allowed to use the sun loungers that are placed in the water unless you buy something from the hotel bar. Again, this is another small thing that contributes to the feeling that the hotel is more profit-driven than guest-focused. At many other four-star hotels, for example in Turkey, I have never experienced anything like this. The biggest issue for us, however, was how incredibly noisy the rooms are. We stayed in a standard room and could hear our neighbours talking and showering. Every sound came through the walls. The hotel attracts many young guests who party at night and return late, which meant that we woke up several times every night because of noise from the corridors and nearby rooms. On top of that, the housekeeping staff started cleaning rooms and corridors at around 7:00–8:00 a.m., waking us up once again. We did not sleep through a single night during the entire week, which is very disappointing when you are trying to relax on holiday. The food"
Villa Mare Monte ApartHotel ★★★★
"Of the three hotels I stayed in during my week in Crete, this one was the quietest, perhaps because it's not near the center and there aren't many young people. The room was nice, but I was unlucky with the location. My balcony was right above the stairs. I couldn't eat in peace because people were constantly coming and going from their rooms. It felt like I was living in an outdoor café. Overall, I felt like I lacked privacy, and because of the room's location, I could hear everyone using the stairs. I think the rooms facing the other side are quieter. The hotel grounds are beautiful! Surrounded by mountains where ibexes stroll peacefully. Internet and air conditioning are completely free, unlike other hotels in Crete. Incidentally, many hotel owners in Crete don't list paid air conditioning, safes, and internet on hotel booking websites. Here, all these services are free. The bed and pillows are simply superb, for which a special thanks to the hotel management. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking! There's even a sponge, dish soap, and a tea towel, which is rare not only in Crete but also in other parts of Greece. Thank you very much for that! Overall, it's a great hotel! I recommend it to anyone looking for peace and quiet, solitude, and a sense of nature!"
Stelios Gardens ★★
"We arrived at 23.15hrs and received a warm welcome from Yannis and Nikki the owners. Very family orientated business with Stelios, their son helping out in the bar and restaurant. Nikki should be an interior designer .. the bar, restaurant and surroundings are tastefully decorated with a beach theme. Breakfast was buffet style and there was ample choice. Dined a couple of times too and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend it. 3 minute walk from the beach."
Dedalos Hotel ★★★
"A lovely place to stay with the lads, walls were thick enough so we couldn’t here robert getting piped . Regardless, a nice place for a lads holiday but you might want to watch out for Ian. He’s an absolute specimen. The pool was lovely on hot days with the lads. Just watch out for Ian. Another review had issues with him as well so maybe it’s a theme."

Alexander Beach Hotel & Village Resort
"Amazing stuff and crew. Everyone is so friendly and has such a high service awarness. The hotel is beautiful, calm, great location in Malia! Thank you."

"Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Greeted with rules: Don’t leave anything on the floor Take your breakfast dishes and cups back and scrape food off and put cutlery in a separate pot Wash your feet outside if you have been to the beach Don’t put anything on top of cupboard it might get scratched Don’t bring your own drinks to the pool (even though the bar wasn’t in use) hence I had to go to a different hotel and pay to spend my day there. The bathroom smelled of urine (leaky toilet) The shower area had nothing to stop the water flooding the whole bathroom and outside the bathroom which made it slippery and dangerous. The towels and sheets weren’t changed for over a week Cleaning very poor bed covers just thrown on the bed Breakfast was very poor and we had to pay to get it somewhere else Had a 11.45pm flight and asked to keep the room and this was refused! Asked if we could shower somewhere and was told we could use the shower outside (the one to clean sand off your feet)"
Mila Malia Studios Hotel
"Best holidays we ever had the owner vicky made us feel like home from the first minute"
Despina Aparthotel by Philoxenia Hotel & Spa
"This is the WORST hotel i have ever been to in my life. There was ants all over the floor in my room as well as the ceiling leaking causing puddles. It also labels the spa as included with the hotel but you have to pay €10 for an hour, which this was falsely advertised to us. The quality of the food was horrendous and was untouched by majority of the people. If you are thinking of staying at this hotel DO NOT DO IT!"
Ikaros Beach, Luxury Resort & Spa - Adults Only
"I had more than one massage with Alexandra. She detected all my back problems just by browsing over my back and immediately started to solve back knots I had for years. She stayed professional and when she noticed I had more pain than usual in one spot she checked in on me and adjusted the pressure accordingly. The massage was so good that I decided to come back on my last day for another deep tissue one. However not just Alexandra was amazing but so was the whole atmosphere, just by walking into the room I felt stress fall of my shoulder as the room is dimmed perfectly and in the background a calm melody is playing. Would definitely recommend a massage at AEGEO and with Alexandra."
Phāea Cretan Malia, a Member of Design Hotels
"The two-day stay was way too expensive for the hotel, knowing that there are people staying there for half the price—though for a week. However, it is a nice, large hotel where the low-rise design adds value."
Enorme Ammos Beach
"I had a deep massage and hydration facial with Alexandra who was amazing! I nearly fell asleep it was so great. Highly recommend, they have a great range of services here ☺️"
High Beach White - Adults Only
"We had an exceptional experience with the wellness services at High Beach Melia Hotel. My wife and I were thoroughly satisfied with the excellent service provided. Pavlos and Viki delivered particularly pleasant and relaxing treatments, making our experience truly memorable. Additionally, Didi's professional approach in arranging a suitable time and space for our session was commendable. We highly recommend their services."
Kristalli Hotel Apartments
"We had a lovely stay at this charming, family-run apartment complex. The rooms were spotless, cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided every other day. The pool area was clean and refreshing—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The on-site food was freshly cooked and delicious, adding a homely touch to the experience. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The location is ideal, right within the old town and just a short walk to numerous authentic Greek restaurants. It truly offered a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and local charm. We would definitely go back!"
Malia Mare Hotel
"Had a lovely stay in Malia, and the family were lovely with the staff being so attentive to all of our needs. The food was also great, despite the breakfast having little/no selection. It was a shame that the security guard on our trip was very very rude to our whole group, disrespectful, barging into our rooms and being very intimidating to young girls. This paired with the cleaners barging into our rooms unsolicited just made the experience uncomfortable not feeling at home in a new hotel. Shame the air conditioning was also broken and did not respond to our remote despite paying at the beginning of the trip. Great staff besides that just wish we felt more welcomed."
Notos Heights Hotel & Suites
"Beautiful hotel ❤ we didn't want to leave. The staff were super friendly especially Anna on reception we felt welcome straight away. The room was bright airy and clean with a decent shower. The pool area is really well maintained along with the rest of the grounds. The food was good and reasonably priced along with the drinks. Breakfast was also great with alot of choice. The town is a short distance away would definitely recommend staying here"
Melissa Apartments, Studios & Suites
"Such an amazing friendly family that run these apartments, George, Ingrid, Elias and Anna could not do enough for you. Not forgetting the lovely Christina on the bar during the day, her breakfast is a must. The pool is lovely and inviting with plenty of sunbeds on the terrace along with a pool table in the dining area at the rear of the bar."
Kastro Beach Apartments
"Great stay at Kastro beach apartments! Made to feel welcome from the second we arrived, the team there are helpful, friendly and polite I picked originally kastro because of the location, which was great, right next to the beach, with nisos beach bar across the road. Still only a 5 minute walk from the main strip with all the bars and clubs. The rooms were comfortable, modern and clean and given the price was more than expected, everything needed for a friends holiday The pool area was nice in the day, not the biggest but more than enough to cool off in the sun Overall really enjoyable stay with everything needed and showed really good value for the price "
Koni Village Hotel
"We have just returned from a fabulous week at Koni Village. We were a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews. However, we've were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. On arrival we were met by a lovely, friendly, welcoming receptionist. Prior to arriving I had emailed the hotel requesting a low level room, due to my partners mobility issues. The hotel fulfilled this. We couldn't have wished for a more suitably located room just a few steps from everything. The room is a decent size for two. The staff work hard and the room was cleaned daily. The bed was super comfy. I don't understand the negative comments about the food. There is so much choice that there is always something nice to eat. The restaurant staff work tirelessly keeping the restaurant clean. They always have a smile for everyone. The pool is a great size. It is a bit cold when you first step in but you soon acclimatise and it was a welcome relief from the beautiful Cretan sunshine. There are many restaurants, tavernas, souvenir and craft shops just a 20 minute walk away. There is also a small shop on site with some essentials. This was our first time to Crete but definitely not our last and we will definitely return to Koni Village!"
High Beach Resort
"Didi, the Lady from the Spa is the friendliest we've ever met. We have a lot of expierence in having massages and here it was extraordinary !! Didi and the team are very professionell and very friendly. We are looking forward to come again to meet her and to have a treatment with Pablo and Maria, who made a excellent Job doing the Massage. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5 Star rating is not enough 👍"
Sentido Kyknos Beach Adults Only
"We booked this hotel for our honey moon and it has ticked every box, staff are amazing from the cleaners to the receptionist. The hotel is absolutely spotless the attention to detail is second to none, the pool is clean and very relaxing, cocktails are amazing especially made by Maria during the day or Carlos at night, breakfast there is a huge selection catering for every fussy eater, my only criticism is the evening selection is more catered for the Germans so we ended up eating out 4 of our 7 night stay unless you wanted salads then your fine. The staff are extremely friendly and really can’t do enough for you. The rooms are clean, bright and well equipped we had a room with a jacuzzi we stayed in room 1212 had a pool and sea view from the balcony but nice and quiet. We looked at one of the rooms with a swim up pool and these were out of this world and definitely what we will book on our return visit. This hotel should be a 5 star, one of the best we’ve ever stayed in and will definitely be returning."
