Sarpidon Apartments ★★★
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Best Place to Stay in Malia! We honestly cannot recommend this place enough — it is truly the best place to stay in Malia! From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome and completely at home. Dora and her staff made our holiday even more special with the way she looked after us. Her kindness and hospitality were incredible, and she made us feel like part of the family. We actually ended up staying longer because we simply didn’t want to leave! The hotel has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and you genuinely feel like you’re part of the family rather than just another guest. The whole experience has been amazing, and we cannot wait to come back next year. And the funniest part is… we haven’t even left yet and we’re already missing it! 😂 Thank you so much for making our holiday so special. We will definitely be back! ❤️ Diolch 🏴 Ευχαριστώ 🇬🇷"
Pyrgos Blue ★★★★
"Booked a Suite with seaside view for 5 nights in August, we only stayed for one after discovering the real views include an abandoned building. Warning as you will not see this on any of their websites or google. Rooms from inside were nice but beds were hard and the WIFI was very weak. Such a disappointment. If you wish to stay here, I would suggest to request a room on the opposite side of the abandoned 3 storey eyesore."
Maria Rousse ★★★
"The location was perfect and our room had a beautiful view of Malia. The staff were lovely and friendly and made you feel very welcome. The food and drinks were amazing too and great value for money. I would 100% come back and stay here, I have no faults 🥰"
Neon Hotel ★★
"Aristea and pavlos made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in until departing. The hotel was good , some of the staff were great and it has a lot of amenities. Pool is a good size, a bar and Stalis beach is moments away . If we come back to this part of the island again we would stay again."
Creta Verano Hotel ★★★
"The hotel is a very nice place to stay if you are looking for a quiet place to sleep and relax, nice staff, clean rooms and good food. The staff were very polite and if you are respectful, you will earn respect. The hotel is close to the strip in a quiet area but is quite far from the beach. For its category, it is an excellent hotel."
Hotel Matheo Villas & Suites ★★★★
"5/5 all round, me and my partner stayed here on the 8th July - 16th July in room 1205 , upon arrival we were greeted by a very nice man that collected our suitcases and brought us into reception to meet a woman that gave us the run down of the hotel, our package, where things are etc. All of the reception staff were brilliant and so helpful one of the reception staff that stood out for us was Elena and her team that she worked with she was so polite helpful and welcoming, thankyou. The reception staff assisted and helped us in an altercation that we were involved in on our leaving day due to the transfer arriving extremely late in which they helped and assisted us so much which we were very grateful for. Breakfast was perfect which consisted of a variety of foods, cakes and drinks again all of the workers were brilliant and very accommodating throughout but the whole time in our stay we really picked up on service and how helpful the waiters Gobi and Desponia was. These two need a real praise, especially Gobi he was so polite, kind and always good to have a chat too he was our favourite worker throughout our stay at King Minos and want to thank him for being so good at his job, same goes for Desponia. Lunch and dinner again were very enjoyable and had a variety of foods including pies, pizza, pasta, chicken dishes and cakes, however my partner and I both agreed that there needs to be more ‘ picky bits of food ‘ such as easy food including burgers, variety of pizzas, sausages and sausage rolls and more. Be regardless all of the food that we tried was very flavoursome cooked the right way and had no concerns. Overall our stay at King Minos was brilliant and can not fault this hotel one bit as they looked after us and were exceptional in helping us two and everyone else that stayed here. All workers were very polite and kind and never once had a problem. If we had an issue with something and raised it then the staff would do everything to try sort this such as requiring an extra pillow etc. Finally all of the cleaners were extremely respectful and nice people one cleaner that stood out for us was Uwana she would respect when we would want the room cleaned and not. Thankyou to all of the King Minos Retreat and Spa staff you was a please and we will be back! Kind regards, Cydney and Hadley"
Villa Mare Monte ApartHotel ★★★★
"We had such a wonderful stay! The hotel has a lovely, warm, family atmosphere that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Kula, the owner, is absolutely wonderful, and Amanda was also so kind and welcoming. The pool area is beautiful, surrounded by trees and nature, with such a peaceful and relaxing view. Everything is incredibly clean, spotless, and very well maintained. The location is also excellent – close to everything while still feeling calm and relaxing. This was our second stay here, and definitely not our last. Highly recommended!"
Stelios Gardens ★★
"We arrived at 23.15hrs and received a warm welcome from Yannis and Nikki the owners. Very family orientated business with Stelios, their son helping out in the bar and restaurant. Nikki should be an interior designer .. the bar, restaurant and surroundings are tastefully decorated with a beach theme. Breakfast was buffet style and there was ample choice. Dined a couple of times too and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend it. 3 minute walk from the beach."
Dedalos Hotel ★★★
"My friends and I chose this hotel because it’s right next to the Malia strip, and we were going on a party holiday. We arrived late at night after a long day of travelling, so we were already exhausted. Instead of being welcomed, the security guard immediately had a go at us. From the moment we arrived, he seemed to judge us purely because we were a group of young people, assuming we were there to cause trouble. Before we’d even had a chance to check in properly, he told us that if he caught us in the same room after midnight, he would “throw us out” and we’d “sleep outside.” While we completely understand that hotels have rules and expect guests to follow them, there are far more respectful ways to explain them. He also implied that we would be bringing strangers back to our rooms, which we found quite insulting considering he’d only just met us. He described the hotel as a family hotel, yet we didn’t see any children during our stay, and the majority of guests appeared to be around our age (18–20). He then showed us to our room, where he watched me (an 18-year-old girl) struggle to carry a 20kg suitcase up two flights of stairs. I nearly fell several times, yet instead of offering to help, he repeatedly told me to “hurry up.” His attitude made us feel uncomfortable from the moment we arrived, and we spent the first night feeling anxious that we’d be told off for no reason. The frustrating part is that throughout the rest of our holiday he never had to speak to us again because we were respectful, followed the rules, and caused no issues whatsoever. It felt unfair that he had judged us before giving us a chance. Aside from the security guard, the hotel itself was lovely. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the pool was relaxing, and all of the other staff members we interacted with were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, our first impression was so negative that the security guard really overshadowed what was otherwise an enjoyable stay."

Alexander Beach Hotel & Village Resort
"I had the great fortune to stay here for a week with my friend, who had been here 4 times prior to this . It was so beautifully laid out along the beach it had 3 pools ? Several restaurants, a spa and a gym . We were upgraded to a junior suite with such a beautiful view of the beach . The room was lovely , very spacious and very clean . The staff were all so lovely .And nothing was top much trouble. A special shout out to Socrates the barman in the pool bar , he was hilarious and great fun . The food was amazing in the Asian fusion restaurant and Maria was lovely . She remembered my friend from her previous stays and greeted her warmly. They even had a Cat Cafe where the guests could feed the local cats , which really meant a lot to me as I love cats. Everything was perfect. The only small downside was the channels on the TV..they were all in German The majority of people that stay there are German, they were all very quiet and pleasant, but it would have been nice to have a couple of English channels for when we got back to our room in the evening."

"Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Greeted with rules: Don’t leave anything on the floor Take your breakfast dishes and cups back and scrape food off and put cutlery in a separate pot Wash your feet outside if you have been to the beach Don’t put anything on top of cupboard it might get scratched Don’t bring your own drinks to the pool (even though the bar wasn’t in use) hence I had to go to a different hotel and pay to spend my day there. The bathroom smelled of urine (leaky toilet) The shower area had nothing to stop the water flooding the whole bathroom and outside the bathroom which made it slippery and dangerous. The towels and sheets weren’t changed for over a week Cleaning very poor bed covers just thrown on the bed Breakfast was very poor and we had to pay to get it somewhere else Had a 11.45pm flight and asked to keep the room and this was refused! Asked if we could shower somewhere and was told we could use the shower outside (the one to clean sand off your feet)"
Mila Malia Studios Hotel
"We were there for one week it was so amazing that we will be back for sure totally recommended"
Despina Aparthotel by Philoxenia Hotel & Spa
"Service was extremely poor, this place is not good value for your money at all it gives false advertisement that you can use the spa and it’s included however you have to pay extra costs. The room are unclean and also not what they look like in the advertisement. There was ants all over the floor, there was a leaking coming from the ceiling, the staff was inconsiderate, the food they provide was terrible quality. The only pro about this hotel is that its close to the strip and the beach other than that its useless."
Ikaros Beach, Luxury Resort & Spa - Adults Only
"Excellent scrub and massage treatment by Alexandra. No knots were left untouched! Left feeling relaxed and revitalised."
Phāea Cretan Malia, a Member of Design Hotels
"The two-day stay was way too expensive for the hotel, knowing that there are people staying there for half the price—though for a week. However, it is a nice, large hotel where the low-rise design adds value."
Enorme Ammos Beach
"Thoroughly enjoyed my facial and massage by Alexandra at Aquavita Spa at the beautiful resort of Enorme Ammos at Malia Crete. The knowledge and expertise was also enhanced by the manager Irini ."
High Beach White - Adults Only
"What a beautiful resort and what a nice people. Especially Didi she is very friendly always joyful. She represent a very nice wellness. Also the staff in the wellness is very professional. Besides the resort is fantastic, they make it complete."
Kristalli Hotel Apartments
"I love smaller family run businesses and this was almost that. Not small by any means but not too large either. Place was just right. Accommodation was clean and tidy with all your needs covered. (Fridge, small freezer compartment and a kettle) Cleaning was done every day and to a good standard. (Cleaners were all lovely and very friendly!) Staff/family who own and run the place are just amazing. So friendly and helpful, and even the younger ones, too! You can see that their business is on the utmost importance to them. Food and drinks available on the premises was lovely! The pool was lovely, although at times perhaps quite full especially with abandoned floaties which took up a lot of space. Only thing we were sad about was the pool closing at 8pm as we would have liked to have had a dip later in the evening but it’s not the end of the world especially when everything else was so good! Within walking distance of shops and nightlife etc. Get yourself to kristalli hotel apartments and you’ll see for yourselves ❤️"
Malia Mare Hotel
"Positives - The pool area is very nice, clean, with comfortable sun loungers as well as a shaded seating area. In addition, the pool bar was also very nice, pool bar food was lovely and fairly priced. Hotel location perfect, being only a few minutes walk from the main strip where all the clubs, bars and restaurants are situated. The 2 gentlemen often behind the pool bar were incredibly nice, spoke very good English and were always happy to help. The room was reasonably spaced for 3 people, beds were comfy and room comes with a balcony. Negatives - The bathroom is very poor, the shower was tiny and was not attached to the wall, this accompanied by the cheap shower curtain meant that every time someone had a shower the entire bathroom got flooded. For paying £800+ per person, it was our expectation that we could have a normal shower and not have to hold it by hand over our heads. On top of this our towels were not changed once by the maid despite her coming in a few times to make the beds and just generally tidy. The older lady who is on the reception is completely useless and unhelpful, anytime we asked anything of her she made it seem like it was hard work. Furthermore, when checking in she was blunt and unhelpful, told us our room number and didn’t even direct us leaving us to search the hotel and find the room ourselves. Nor were we offered any help with our baggage. Similarly, the lady who was often behind the pool bar was horrible, same bad attitude as the woman on reception. Completely unhelpful and always had a face like thunder, again made everything u asked seem like hard work. Very strict rules in hotel so be aware you will not be allowed to play any of your own music at poolside or bring any form of food and drink from outside the hotel. We had a few dealings with the woman mentioned previously trying to confiscate our water bottles we had bought from the shop opposing the hotel. Air con not included in room, paid 9 euros per day for air con that just blasted warm air around the room and made us all ill."
Notos Heights Hotel & Suites
"Visited Notos Heights June 2026 - 2 families of 3 taking our teenage daughters who wanted the Malia experience. We had 3 studio rooms which were perfect - great air conditioning, powerful showers, comfy beds and spotlessly cleaned every day. Location was perfect - on the edge of Malia, approx 20mins walk to old town Malia and the strip, we had the best of both worlds. Amazing restaurants in the old town. Great breakfast every day with lots of choices, amazing Greek Yoghurt. No sunbed wars and sunbeds were comfy. Staff were lovely - so so friendly and helpful, the owner took so much pride in her accommodation, and so did the staff who worked for her, they made us feel so welcome and our stay so enjoyable. The restaurant on site does amazing food and bar great cocktails. If we ever come back to Crete we would definitely stay here again."
Melissa Apartments, Studios & Suites
"First time to Crete and Mellissa apartments was recommended to me. I have a fantastic holiday and mainly down to the family run apartment. Help kind and very embracing the hospitality was 5 Star. The location was perfect. I would highly recommend and definitely return."
Sentido Kyknos Beach Adults Only
"We booked this hotel for our honey moon and it has ticked every box, staff are amazing from the cleaners to the receptionist. The hotel is absolutely spotless the attention to detail is second to none, the pool is clean and very relaxing, cocktails are amazing especially made by Maria during the day or Carlos at night, breakfast there is a huge selection catering for every fussy eater, my only criticism is the evening selection is more catered for the Germans so we ended up eating out 4 of our 7 night stay unless you wanted salads then your fine. The staff are extremely friendly and really can’t do enough for you. The rooms are clean, bright and well equipped we had a room with a jacuzzi we stayed in room 1212 had a pool and sea view from the balcony but nice and quiet. We looked at one of the rooms with a swim up pool and these were out of this world and definitely what we will book on our return visit. This hotel should be a 5 star, one of the best we’ve ever stayed in and will definitely be returning."
Koni Village Hotel
"Having read some recent reviews, we were dubious about going but thought we've paid so will go and see. The place was clean, rooms were fine and the food was much better than anticipated. There were 2 downsides... There is nowhere to sit inside for drinks and we going the restaurant managed to be rude at the beginning of the week."
Philoxenia Hotel & Spa
"Amazing jacuzzi area & sauna. Opportunity to sit in hammocks and enjoy cocktails. Very nice quality and wide range food during breakfast and dinner (perfect for health diet food loving as me) & milkshakes & smoothies . Suggestions: more desserts in evening, all same style clothes hangers in wardrobe, other amenities, more natural smell )) All was perfect! Thanks. Keep going!"
High Beach Resort
"Amazing! If you want the best possible experience, I highly recommend taking the beachfront suite. It’s the perfect way to fully enjoy your vacation. The service is amazing, the food is very good, and the cocktails and drinks are excellent. A special thank you to the entire staff — everyone is so polite, friendly, and attentive. They truly take great care of you and make you feel special throughout your stay. A special mention to Didi and Maria, who gave us an amazing massage experience. My wife has never felt so relaxed! We also had the chance to dine at Veranda. Sadly, I forgot the name of our host, but we had such a lovely conversation throughout our dinner, and he took very good care of us. It really made the evening even more special. Absolutely amazing vacation! I have a feeling I’ll be coming back here again. Highly recommended! PS! Swim from the beach to the church on the little island. It’s worth the swim!"
