The Crown Manor House Hotel ★★★★
"I have a pleasant stay. The location is very central. Recommended."
Penny Farthing Hotel & Cottages ★★★
"The bed was too big for the room which resulted in bruised legs from the posts at the bottom of the bed. The mattress was too big for the bed which resulted in me falling out of bed as it sank on the edge of the bed. The remote for the tv was taped at the back so the batteries didn’t fall out but the remote didn’t work and had to do it manually on the side of the tv. We asked for a quiet room and was put in a room which was on the main road. The road was extremely busy and even though it was extremely hot (we were given a fan) we could not have the windows open as the road was so noisy however even with the windows closed the noise kept us awake. The shower was very slippery too and the taps on the sink were very difficult to turn off. The breakfast was very good as was the service we received"
The Trusty Servant Inn ★★★
"Three of us booked lunch here. Sadly they couldn’t find my booking, but we were welcomed and given a nice table in the window. I chose the starter of Nachos as a main course - it was nice but a huge portion. You couldn’t have eaten a main afterwards! My partner had a Bacon and Brie Baguette with chips and salad and my brother enjoyed their Beef Suet Pudding with chips. All the portions were large. Service was friendly and efficient. My brother, who’s from Lancashire, was intrigued to see the pigs wandering around outside. We’ll be back ..."
Ormonde House Hotel ★★★
"Solo traveller with my dog. A lovely room but very steep stairs as we were in the top of the building. It was a heatwave so very hot! A fan was provided. Across the road and onto the New forest it could not be more beautiful! Breakfast was very nice but it was a little slow at times, not helped be me being a bit short of time . Shower was amazing ! Some road noise outside but mostly due to a manhole cover in the road being hit by bigger vehicles. It was manageable. Very friendly staff. And dog friendly and clean . a good stay and I will certainly return when in the area ."
Forest Lodge Hotel ★★★★
"Great location for Paulton’s Park. No real restaurant onsite - just a small bistro menu with a few pizzas on. Luckily there’s a really great pub next door. Hotel was a bit disorganised - took a long time to get seated at breakfast, and then orders took ages and lots of items unavailable. I asked how much breakfast would be and was given incomplete information. There was an issue with the pool (although fixed quite quickly) but staff seemed quite short with us when we asked when it would reopen. Rooms were a great size though, especially for a family!"
The New Forest Inn ★★
"Nice cosy rooms above a pleasant pub. It accepts dogs but didn't feel it was very dog friendly as no access for dogs to go for a wee, no dog bowls or anything dog related in the room even though the dog was booked in. Friendly staff and the food at the pub was tasty."
The Stag Hotel and Mailmans Arms ★★★
Travelodge Stoney Cross Lyndhurst ★★★
"If you’re looking to stay somewhere on a budget and you don’t mind all facilities being the most basic then this place is fine. However bear in mind that this hotel looks like a run down building that from the roadside looks like a condemned building. Our room smelt dirty, had a winter tog duvet on the bed in the height of a heatwave, no cold water from the sink unless you run the tap for 5 minutes, one fan which is usually acceptable but when you’re in the midst of a heatwave and have a dog with you and you politely ask for another only to be told ‘1 room 1 fan policy’ by the receptionist….lets just say we will not be returning. Personally I had a sleepless night due to the heat whereas I don’t think an extra fan considering there were vacant rooms would have been too much bother. The receptionist herself said ‘you do know where you’re staying don’t you?!’ which really did imply a lot. Before I move onto the positive be aware of the rats in the car park. The location for getting to the main road is good and the shower was actually a positive too. The mattress was comfortable despite not getting any sleep. My advice would be only stay here if you really have to!"
White Rabbit by Chef & Brewer Collection ★★★
"I would like to firstly express how welcoming and customer friendly the team were throughout my stay, also the food was lovely and well presented. I would like to mention that the room i stay in (room 5) was next to or was situated nearby appliances (with perhaps fans) which continuously made a noise throughout the night - travel/road noise was expected due to the location of the establishment. If i were to stay here again i would look to avoid this room as i am a light sleeper."
