Ibis Styles le Mans Centre Gare

"This is a difficult review to write. We have been staying in Ibis Styles hotels in France for many years and would normally rate them highly. Fine examples of these are in Saumur and Beaune. The problem seems to be that that there seems to be complete confusion as to the way these hotels are catagorised. We have just stayed in a straightforward Ibis in La Rochelle and the interior decoration was almost identical to an Ibis Styles. The only difference seems to be that breakfast is included in the Styles brand. The Ibis Styles in Le Mans is no doubt well run . But the building is tired and the decoration and entrance is underwhelming. It just didn’t seem to reflect the Styles brand . The breakfast was enjoyable but perhaps not quite up to the standard of other Styles hotels we have visited. However the price was extremely competitive which was a big plus and so we presume that this is where the main difference lies. But all the same , the brand in our view is in danger of being compromised. The staff in Le Mans were very helpful and friendly and the beds comfortable. The location too was excellent. Hence the difficulty in writing this review!"

"I couldn't have received a warmer welcome than I got from Brigitte upon arrival. Every morning there was fresh juice, yogurt, wonderful confitures, fruit, cereal, etc. The place was immaculately clean. I stayed in a gorgeous room, actually rooms! upstairs. The bed was so comfortable. I felt lucky to stay in such a historic building. The location made you feel like a local, right by the cathedral with plenty of restaurants and shops to explore on the cobbled streets. Paid parking right outside the front door too."
