Excellent place for solo traveller! I stayed here for two nights by myself. Room is big enough with a single bed. Location is good nearby a bus stop and it took about 20-30 mins to get to the city centre. Late night tram and bus available from the city. It is in the middle of quiet local town. So live like a local! I would like to come back again!

Funky decor, good facilities and obviously setup for entertaining small group of friends ( ice-making machine and wet bar!). My 91 year old mum was non-plussed by all of the ‘sensuous’ female photos. “Where is the Robert Mapplethorpe stuff?” she muses.

Amazing
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance to Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and the Royal Botanic Garden. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the room view was disappointing. We booked a 'Skyline King Room,' but there was no skyline visible at all; we just looked out onto old, dilapidated rooftops. The room also felt quite small.
LLisa not LizaI had a great stay at Hey Wake Up Sydney Hostel. The location is super convenient—close to public transport, shops, and many attractions in the city, which made exploring Sydney really easy.
The hostel itself has a very friendly and social atmosphere. It’s perfect if you want to meet new people, especially as a solo traveler. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and always ready to assist with any questions or recommendations.
The rooms and common areas were clean and well-maintained. I also liked the shared spaces—they’re comfortable and great for relaxing or chatting with other guests.
Overall, it’s a budget-friendly place with good vibes, a great location, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend it and would stay here again!
GGuest UserThis area near the airport has become much more developed since I was here eight years ago. This hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, which is very convenient. The room was spacious and comfortable, and it even had a simple kitchen for preparing basic meals. The only downside was that after I checked in, I got some bites on my face.
NNaiyougegewuSydney Central YHA is the best-equipped and most pleasant hostel I've ever stayed in! I was in a 4-bed female dorm. There are power outlets right by the bed, facing downwards, so if your adapter isn't tight, it might fall out. However, there are USB and USB-C ports directly, which is super convenient. Each bed also has a reading light and a blackout curtain, offering great privacy.
The kitchen and dining area are huge, with a complete array of cooking utensils that are very practical and exceptionally clean; everyone is very considerate. There's a large supermarket, Coles, right near the hostel, making it easy to buy groceries. During my stay, I cooked for myself every day – it was delicious, hygienic, and affordable.
The best part is its location right by Central Station. Trains, buses, and all kinds of transport converge here, offering excellent connectivity and making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere.
Accessing the lifts, rooms, and communal bathrooms all require card access, ensuring top-notch security.
TtearsbabeThe hotel room was great and new, and the view was absolutely stunning. The only downside was the lobby, which was always packed with people, and the elevators often took a long time to arrive. The pool during the holidays was a nightmare – it was completely overflowing every single day, and you couldn't even snag a single lounge chair! 😢
HHuanhuanHere's my personal take. Upon entering the lobby, the bellhops barely glanced my way, instead warmly greeting foreign guests. Heading upstairs for check-in, even with open desks, I still had a bit of a wait. My son and I were speaking Chinese the whole time. The front desk lady, however, spoke exclusively English to my son, and her attitude was decent. After check-in, she surprised me by speaking a few sentences in Mandarin; I was taken aback, realizing she could speak Chinese all along! Other services were practically nonexistent. The hotel's service awareness is just terrible; there were almost no greetings, no hellos. Only one or two staff members would give a forced, insincere nod. The room cleaning was the most puzzling. I made it clear I didn't want the room cleaned when I was out, and when I returned, they'd formally ask if I needed it cleaned. Out of five days, only one day was the room actually tidied after I left. I even encountered their 'inspection team' entering the room. There was a long hair still on the bathroom door – clearly left by the previous guest, as no one in my family has hair that long. On the other remaining days, they simply said they'd change the towels and empty the trash, and their attitude was quite good. What truly baffled me was the lack of complimentary bottled water in the room. I was told the tap water from the kitchen was potable. Looking through Ctrip reviews, it's clear many rooms, including the apartment I stayed in, have two paper-boxed mineral waters. I have no idea why we didn't receive any for even one day. Our room was placed right off the elevator, with an emergency exit right next to the door. This made me wonder if this was specifically arranged for Ctrip customers, or if there was another reason. All in all, the only thing going for it is its location; everything else is worthless!
YYujideyuCleanliness: So-so, lacking in detail. There was still dust on the hairdryer cover.
Facilities: The bedding was way too soft, not ideal for Chinese people. When one person lies on it, it just sags.
GGuest UserGreat location, breakfast could have better selection and pastries could be more fresh. Other than that room was great, gym was nice, lobby was cozy
Ggu****The hotel's location is excellent. Within a 5 to 10-minute walk, you can reach Chinatown, Paddy's Market, Darling Square, Darling Harbour, and Central Station. The room size was adequate, and it was clean and tidy upon arrival, with daily housekeeping being prompt and thorough. The front desk service was also on point.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks:
1. The lighting in the lobby area isn't great; it's generally too dim and looks like it needs a refurbishment. Hopefully, they'll update it soon.
2. We believe our room was in the newer extension of the hotel. There's a noticeable difference in floor levels between the two buildings, and the connection between them is entirely stairs, which is really inconvenient when you have luggage. This also needs an update.
3. The flooring under the carpet in our room was bulging in places and requires maintenance.
GGuest UserWe had a brilliant experience at the Langham for our wedding anniversary! I forgot how much I like the Langham brand. From the pink ribbon around the toilet paper to the sleep ammenities (we asked for the sleep pillow mist and the room diffuser) to the suggested third eye massage technique and the chamomile tea before bedtime, we felt totally pampered and taken care of. Reservation was made for our celebratory dinner with fine steak dinner over the fantastic view of the Opera House. In room breakfast was delivered on time and the quantity copious. The Spanish bell boy was helpful and friendly. We were also upgraded to a harbour view room to our delight. Location was convenient to walk either to Barangaroo or the Rocks, for ferry ride or metro. Very pleased to have chosen The Langham, it was absolutely the right decision for us!
