"Shoes were taken off at the door and the hotel has a policy of ‘socks or bare feet’, which was fine by us. Socks were supplied in the room, if you didn’t want to wear your own. The hotel is a bit of a maze but we were guided personally to our rooms, and staff made sure that we had everything that we needed. The room was a new experience for us, with tatami mats set up with a table and chairs when we arrived and then converted for sleeping with futon mattresses. Unfortunately, I’m rather taller than your average ryokan guest and so spilled over the edges of the mattress. The small pillows (filled with buckwheat?) were also a bit of a challenge. Facilities in the room include a sink and a toilet but no shower. This is zero problem because there is a huge choice of different onsens, all of which are excellent. Traditional dinners and breakfasts were served in the dining room; huge feasts of small dishes, all beautifully presented. I suspect that I made many gaffs in the manner in which I ate everything but I thoroughly enjoyed it all. We also very much enjoyed the cultural dance show, and making use of the karaoke room! Thank you to all the staff who made us all feel so special and introduced us (gently) to the ryokan concept."

In the past, heating was used at the end of the Obon festival, but from such anecdotes, you can see the abnormal weather of the present age. By the way, this hot spring is the best anyway. Although the hot water is close to transparent, the total amount of ingredients is about 4,000 〜 5,000 mg, and it works hard on the body even after the hot water is finished, and the skin becomes smooth. The scent of hot water is slightly different because the source varies depending on the bathtub. The main is the hot water in the back, but it is too hot to soak in. Even the strongest person takes tens of seconds, and most people do not soak in hot water and only hang hot water. I was only soaked for about 2 seconds. However, I felt the freshness of the hot water the most here. The hot water of the cherry blossoms near here also had a unique fragrant scent, and it was good to see that it was springing from the foot. It seems that everything except the indoor bath springs up at your feet, but this was the only place I could clearly understand. (Although the iron plate on the hot water base has no taste) Shinyu is a little disappointing because the freshness of the hot water is not good. The only hot water on the opposite bank of the river is closed due to the broken bridge. Even if the bridge was repaired, it was immediately washed away by the flooding of the river after heavy rain, and an employee said that his heart broke.
