Jiangmen is located in Guangdong Province on extremely fertile area of land and marine resources within on the Pearl River Delta. Here, there are 12 rare and endangered protected plants at the national and provincial levels. The city’s climate is subtropical with monsoonal influences and characterized by warm and rainy weather. It rarely ever snows in Jiangmen and the average annual temperature is around 22°C.
The city is full of beautiful scenery and the countryside is not far away. Jiangmen has many attractions and places of interest such as the Yutai Temple of the Xinhui Relics of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the ancient battlefield of the Xinhui Yamen, and the former residence of Liang Qichao. The best times to visit Jiangmen are the periods from March to May and from September to November. It often rains within the period from April to September and typhoons sometimes hit the city. The annual Overseas Chinese Carnival & Hometown Tour Festival is held in the middle of October, making that month a good time to visit. Jiangmen hotels are known to fill up around the time of the festival, so it’s a good idea to book in advance.
