"First off, there was a strange, unpleasant smell everywhere, from the hallways to the room itself. The room especially had a musty odor, I'm not sure where it was coming from. Second, the service was quite bizarre. I specifically booked a queen room with a window, but when I got to the front desk, they said there were no rooms available. Apparently, long-term guests transferred from another hotel had taken them all. Someone who seemed like the owner then asked me if I'd be willing to compromise and stay in a windowless room for one night. What kind of hotel makes guests compromise? Don't they usually offer an upgrade to make up for it? They ended up putting me in a room on the lower floor, right above a shop with a blaring loudspeaker. Ugh… the experience was truly awful."

"While on our way to Wuyuan, we chose to stay at the Wenlan Hotel Jiande Hangzhou (Xin'anjiang Branch) for two nights during our stopover in Jiande, Hangzhou. We were extremely satisfied and considered it an excellent value. Upon check-in, the front desk thoughtfully upgraded our city view room to a river view room for free. Standing on the balcony, the panoramic view of the Xin'an River was breathtaking and truly refreshing. The staff were warm, attentive, and incredibly detail-oriented, proactively offering guidance on local attractions and dining. Each day, they even thoughtfully provided fresh fruit and beverages. The room was clean and bright, with new equipment and fast internet. What was even more touching was that from the lobby to the guest rooms, every employee greeted us with a smile and was eager to assist. Breakfast was rich and varied, with a wide selection of Chinese and Western dishes, all of excellent quality. Overall, the value for money is exceptionally high. This is truly a hidden gem among quality hotels; their diligent, enthusiastic, and thoughtful service, combined with their standard operations, truly speaks for itself – they don't need praise, just satisfied guests. We really struck gold with this find, and we highly recommend it!"

The staff always anticipated my needs, and this attentive care made me feel truly at home. Without a doubt, this was the best accommodation experience of my trip!"

"My family really loved it! The kids' room was beautiful and much bigger than we expected. For a family of four, it was great value for money! The app is actually pretty good and improves operational efficiency. The stream water was quite yellow though, otherwise, it would have been perfect! There was also a very rude woman while we were swimming; to save money, she didn't buy a swim cap for her child and ignored the staff's warnings, insisting on getting into the water... The hotel should blacklist people like that."

"My friend told me that Fangwai Hotel is like a secluded paradise, perfect for unwinding. We brought our child here for the May Day holiday and booked a Mufeng Suite on an upper floor. The room size was just right, and the layout was very sensible. The minibar selection was excellent, not just random generic juices, but well-chosen options like Perrier and Voss mineral water. Before we even arrived, the concierge, Xiaoyu, was actively communicating with us and her responses were indeed very prompt. Whether it was delivering mineral water or picking us up from the cafe, the service was always quick. When we first arrived, our room wasn't ready yet, so we went to the Fangwai Hall to do some Song brocade painting, which was a lot of fun. I made one myself, and when my child arrived, the staff member kindly helped them make another, patiently guiding them throughout the process. Everyone had a great time. The vegetables, bamboo shoots, and other dishes in the restaurant were all incredibly fresh and delicious, with a wonderful taste of seasonality. Although the breakfast was simple, it was refined and didn't give the impression of a large selection with little edible food. The toppings for the noodles were very substantial. The service staff were all kind and approachable. Even though it was May Day and the hotel was quite busy, and you could feel the staff were under some pressure, their attitude and efficiency with guests were commendable. Next holiday, I'll definitely book a two-day stay so we can more leisurely explore the greenway along the Xin'an River."

"This is my second time staying at your hotel. The scorching summer is the best time to go to Jiande where the temperature is 17°C for a summer vacation. The booked room is right next to the river, and you can see the clear Xin'an River flowing slowly from the room. Sitting in the room and drinking tea, you can watch the beautiful mountains and clear waters, the rolling clouds and the relaxing clouds, which is very pleasant. The room design is full of Jiangnan charm, spacious and bright. The service in the hotel is very pleasant. Fresh fruits are delivered every day. The waiters are always smiling when I see them. Especially the sister He Yuanyuan at the front desk is warm and kind. The service is attentive and meticulous. It makes me feel like I am at home. The hotel is in a good location, and it is also very convenient to go to the riverside to enjoy the cool weather. There are many delicious little restaurants nearby. The moment I opened the door, I was hit by a blast of cold air—haha, this was the coolest room I've stayed in all summer! There's also a balcony with a table where you can eat and drink with friends. And there's an infinity pool, which the kids love to play in. We went swimming at 11 am, and there was an uncle cleaning the pool while a lifeguard was supervising. It was a very fun trip!"
