"The front desk staff were warm and friendly. They were very patient with me, even though my English isn't great, and used translation software to help. My room had a city view; while it wasn't a lake view, I could see the tall buildings outside. The room was spacious, and although the decor was a bit dated, it was exceptionally clean. You have to pick up bottled water yourself from the front desk. The location is superb, directly across from the lakeside and a park. It's within walking distance of Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago. The Magnificent Mile and Chicago River are a bit further to walk, but the #3 bus right outside the hotel makes it very convenient to get there. It's close to the business district, near the subway, and there's a Macy's nearby. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, and there's even a Starbucks on the first floor of the hotel, making it very easy to grab things. The hotel opened in 1920-something, so it's almost a century old and many historical figures have stayed here. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip."

"The room was nice, however it was on first floor and I requested for the top floor but the staff didn’t even have a fake look but said all full which was technically impossible. Early morning it was noisy as just besides the parking lot and the blanket was worse, I was expecting something of this level but it wasn’t even close. The floor was a bit smelly in the lobby and around. probably too old as other low rank hotels has better fragrance and is more appealing. The restaurant inside the hotel was probably my worst experience ever, both the chicken and pasta chicken were so hard, you would probably need a steel teeth for that. I have seen better services in probably one third of the prices so can’t be more honest though. They do offer pick/drop off shuttle service though."

"My second stay was a bit disappointing… The toilet flush motor in the room made noises from time to time. The air conditioner made strange noises when it was idling. In the morning, I noticed the hotel had charged my credit card $25. After inquiring, I learned this was an erroneous charge due to someone else checking in early. Although the amount was refunded immediately, it still left a bad impression."

"iDon’t be in a hurry for the shower because it takes at least 10 minutes for the hot water to come. i’ll go to Hyatt, at least by name, that’s worth the similarity ends. Appreciate the complementary breakfast. I don’t remember paying for it, but it was about the quality of a Days Inn. O’Hare shuttle was prompt and courteous. The front desk would’ve been better if people in front of me weren’t clueless. all in all the room was modern, big and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. not sure I’d stay there again but I’m in need of an accommodation near O’hare about four times a year. The free breakfast is not a full buffet but a choice of egg and then usually fried potato and beefburger patty or slices of sausage. the rest was tiny yoghurt and bread for toast, or make your own waffles. there is tea coffee and hot chocolate. There was cereal and porridge but sometimes it is made so thin that its not worth eating. There is no tea in the room, just coffee. The machine had a disposable tray but they ran out so I used the same one for 9 days for tea and coffee (i got teabags from the breakfast room). Housekeeping never supplied what you asked for first time, or even second. If you want something and ask at 2pm, you will get it if you chase a couple of times afterwards by 9-10pm. There was also alot of messing about with respect to check out time. I am a member of the loyalty programme which is meant to give you an automatic late checkout. The manager gave it to me but then when I went back to ask about extending it further for a fee, it was clear the other guy behind the counter was on a power trip and the day before started saying I shouldnt have got it and as it was the manager, he wouldnt withdraw it but he could and I should only get an hour and be charged $25/hr after that etc. He was just a mean spiteful man who saw an opportunity to cause worry and distress and he did it. I had luggage to store and it was a late flight so I had to know whether to pack to store it to check out at midday, or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (they were messing me about with all times) but this is why I gave a 1 star for service. It is not at all professional but childish and spiteful. I had arranged the extended checkout days before and the day before they were messing me about when I had to pack and had a schedule of things to do? The worst service in any hotel I have ever been in. Hilton is no longer a 5 star experience it seems. 1 star for service.

The hotel is located in the Loop area, with a relatively high safety factor. The location is excellent, close to the Chicago River, and it is very convenient for boat trips. It is very convenient to go to various attractions, whether it is the Magnificent Mile or Millennium Park and the Chicago Art Museum, you can walk there. The hotel service is OK, and they do not actively provide toiletries, but you can ask the front desk to provide them. I need to remind you: when choosing a room, it is recommended to choose a room without breakfast. The so-called breakfast is just a $20 coupon for you to go to the restaurant on the first floor, but you can't have a satisfactory breakfast for $20, and you need to tip and pay taxes. The key is: the difference between breakfast and no breakfast is almost enough to book a room without breakfast. The explanation given by the hotel is: the price with breakfast allows customers to cancel the reservation at any time a few hours before check-in, which only gives you the right to cancel the reservation. This is the only unpleasant point of the stay. I stayed for 5 nights and spent nearly 6,000 yuan to buy this breakfast. Although the solution provided by Ctrip is a drop in the bucket, it is more important to be in a good mood when you go out, so I just give up. I hope Ctrip can clearly state the terms and conditions in the product details in the future, and I also hope that the comments can help everyone~

The location is great, with a CVS and a Jewel Osco nearby, and it's within walking distance to the Magnificent Mile and Millennium Park. The facilities are a bit old, especially the carpet which looked quite dirty. Housekeeping started knocking on our door at 8 AM every morning 😮💨, yet when we returned to the hotel in the evening, the room hadn't been cleaned. Upon check-in, I noticed the bottled water was priced at $3 a bottle, free for members. So I didn't drink any of the hotel's water. However, after checking out, my credit card was charged $6 for water. It's not a lot of money, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Thankfully, Trip.com customer service was very helpful and negotiated with the hotel for a refund, which I'm still waiting to receive.

Be careful, there is a hidden charge ”A $25 daily urban experience fee will be charged to each room” at this hotel Fairmont Chicago - Millennium Park. The breakfast charge is very tricky if you have prepaid. 1st you have to argue that you have prepaid for the breakfast for each person in the room. 2nd you need to ask and confirm with the front desk how much the credit is for the breakfast you have paid (my case $38 for each person daily, covers taxes and tips). It is not buffet breakfast, you need to pay extra when you check out if you have ordered more than your credit for the breakfast. When I asked that if I missed one breakfast, can I use the extra credit for the next day. The answers were different from different staff members. A very expensive hotel focusing on big conferences, there are no microwave oven, empty refrigerator (you can request) in the room and swimming pool. Do not lift up the drinks and snacks in the box on the table (there are sensors underneath) unless you don't mind to be charged. The existing refrigerator is full of drinks. I was afraid to touch it, even the concierge didn't know how to open the refrigerator lock. But the coffee and tea are free. There is a person (not housekeeper) comes to the room to check and refill all the drinks and snacks including the free ones. We booked our room many weeks earlier, after we checked in I realized that the room prices dropped comparing our original prices, maybe not enough conference people attending. Hope the information is helpful for you.

The hotel's shuttle service for pickup from O'Hare Airport Zone 2E and drop-off at International Zone 5 was excellent. It was also great that we could enjoy the complimentary hotel breakfast and evening social hour. We made good use of the nearby Blue Line Rosemont CTA station with a 1-day Ventra Pass to explore Chicago in winter. I'd like to thank the front desk lady for her friendly assistance with check-in. The deposit was also refunded within two days. However, as we visited in early February, the room was very dry, so it would be advisable to bring a portable humidifier.

The hotel is a typical airport hotel, had a very helpful shuttle driver (Ray) and the other staff interacted with were very friendly and helpful.  Located just offsite from the airport, opposite a shopping mall and had a small selection of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.  Room was clean and had everything needed. Bathroom had good water pressure and provided nice toiletries.  This was a one-night stay prior to flying home from O'Hare and met all needs.

When we arrived, was told that elevator had breakdown. We had to carry our heavy luggages to the 1st floor when hotel staff should have helped us in managing it. Shuttle service was good, and driver was excellent and friendly. Guided us to the correct terminal for the drop off. Breakfast though simple, but it managed to sooth our hunger. 👍

I was in Schaumburg for a 2 Day conference and chose to stay at a more cost effective location since I was traveling alone and really just needed a decent place to stay. Upon arrival, I was greeted and given my key cards. I drove towards the side door as it was closer to the elevator. Not the hotels fault I guess, but people were smoking in areas I know weren’t designated for smoking. The 2nd floor ***** of ***. I am grateful it wasn’t coming from my room, however: the assigned room did not smell clean at all. I did bring cleaning sprays from home just in case, the room wasn’t clean. I had to wipe the counters , desk and sink top off. They were dirty and sticky to the touch. I was going to ask for staff to come up and check the room but decided not to do that. The next morning I went to the front desk to ask that Housekeeping not clean until I left. Front desk staff was on the cellular device and I had to get his attention. He was nice and courteous but told me that rooms were cleaned once per week. Guess that’s why my assigned room smells the way. While I am an avid dog lover, the dogs coming out the exit when I tried to enter were huge. This gentleman had two and could hardly control them. Nevertheless, you get what you pay for so I can’t be too upset. I just don’t recall this chain being so lax about the amenities, staff professionalism-and cleanliness.

My Honest Experience After Reading Negative Reviews I was initially quite hesitant to check into this hotel after reading a number of detailed and lengthy negative reviews, especially those highlighting hidden fees and cleanliness issues. However, upon arrival with my partner, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and well-decorated, with a modern and cohesive style. Our check-in process was fast and efficient, and the receptionist was friendly and happy to answer all of our questions—especially about the fees mentioned on the hotel’s website. One of the main issues people seem to bring up is the so-called “hidden” fees. In my experience, these fees are not actually hidden—they’re listed on the hotel’s official website. That said, they could definitely be communicated more clearly. It’s important to read the fine print when booking and during check-in. While the fees may not be obvious at first glance, the hotel is legally allowed to include them since they are technically disclosed. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with enough space to hang clothes. There were multiple hangers, and the locker-style closets matched the hotel’s sporty decor. The floor and bathroom were clean overall, though I did spot a spider in the corner of the shower—but nothing alarming. The downstairs common area includes an open kitchen with a communal fridge and even a crockpot, which was a nice surprise. There were also several games available, like ping pong and air hockey, which makes this place family- and couple-friendly. Guests are allowed to enjoy drinks provided in the kitchen. If you’re sensitive to noise, particularly trains, I recommend requesting a room farther down the hall on the first floor. Our room was in a quiet spot—I barely noticed the train, and when I did, it was more like soft white noise. Still, bringing earplugs might help if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, I recommend this hotel. It’s in a nice area, the decor is visually appealing, and the stay was enjoyable. Just be aware of a $120 refundable deposit (if no damage is done to the room) and an additional $50 guest fee. Knowing that ahead of time helps avoid surprises. I’m very grateful for the pleasant stay and would return again.
