"The staff of Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel are professional and considerable. Their service are excellent, especially
1) The shuttle bus driver (morning shift strong man, forgot asking his name). When we arrived at Shodoshima Ferry Pier at 11:00am on April 7, we found a hotel shuttle bus, but not sure if it's the one of our staying hotel. We asked the driver if it's the one that waiting to pick us up. He said yes, but the hotel check-in time should be 3:00pm in the afternoon. He suggested us to have the sightseeing first and helped register the afternoon time for picking us instead. Also, he suggested taking our hand carry bags to the hotel front desk to avoid we carrying too heavy bags while travelling.
2) The lady staff (sorry for forgetting her name) at the lobby hall, who was very proactive. She came over immediately to help taking photos for us when she found we're taking a selfie. She also served us with free drinks for enjoying the sunset at the hall.
3) The staff at the reception desk are very professional. They helped us for check-in, explained the details of the time for meals, and provided all the information required.
4) The foods for dinner & breakfast buffet are very nice and yummy. The restaurant is clean and tidy.
Overall, Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel is a very professional and comfortable accommodation for stay. We're pleased and feel glad choosing this hotel."

"The room is a traditional Japanese style room, a bit old, the view from my room is average, but it was night when I arrived, so it didn't matter, the room was clean and hygienic. Free hot water and drinks in the lobby. The hot spring is good, with an open-air bath. However, there are no restaurants or supermarkets around, so it is recommended to pack a meal or eat well before coming back, or there is a simple vending machine in the lobby selling instant noodles and curry rice."

Comprising two wings (East & West) with a total of 45 rooms, the property features a variety of room types including penthouse ocean-view suites, garden suites with private plunge pools, and superior bunk-bed rooms. Guests can unwind at the “edén” Thermal Spa, equipped with an auto-löyly sauna, cold-water plunge pool, indoor baths, and an infinity pool overlooking the sea — an oasis of calm all year round.
"The hotel is good and matches its price category. The rooms are spacious, new, and comfortable. The staff is friendly, and everything is automated – they've moved from physical keys to QR and PIN codes. If I'm ever lucky enough to visit Shodoshima again, I'd try to stay at this hotel once more.
Now, about why the rating isn't 5/5: if you're unlucky and get a room like mine on the 2nd floor, your balcony offers a wonderful view of the road and its traffic, which is a slight discrepancy from the photos. The balcony railings could also be lower. I understand safety comes first (especially with free drinks at the lobby bar), but the hotel emphasizes room views, and when you're sitting in chairs on the balcony, you're looking through a grate – which isn't very comfortable. The breakfast doesn't have the largest selection of dishes, but to be fair, each item is tasty and commendable.
I also visited the hotel restaurant for dinner. In my opinion, it would be better to change the menu to something they are masters at. The beef paella had well-cooked rice, but the beef itself was tough in places and generally quite bland. The burrata with fruit was drier than you'd expect, and there wasn't enough olive oil, salt, and pepper – which is strange for an island known for its olives. Perhaps they could add more, or provide salt, oil, and pepper with the dish so guests can season to their taste. The olive oil ice cream with salt and black pepper had the same issue as the burrata – it felt like the spices were stolen, yet they are the essence of this dish."

"This is an older building, but the company is doing everything possible to make your stay amazing. I did stay in a cheaper room, but personally had no issues. "We stayed here on the 29th day of the ***** year and the first day of the ***** year. Overall, we were very satisfied. The proprietress is from Northeast China. The communication was smooth and she was very enthusiastic. It felt more like home than a hotel. The auntie prepared free breakfast in the morning and gave us some dumplings on the first day of the ***** year, which made us feel the warmth of home when traveling abroad. The communication with the proprietress was also very smooth. On the day of check-out, the proprietress drove us to visit several scenic spots and gave us two big ugly oranges. I must give a good review. It is highly recommended. I will definitely stay here again when I come to Seto Inland Sea in the future."

"A pleasant surprise upon entering. It feels like home. It is very clean. The details are very good. The tableware is very complete. Washing, drying and drying are provided. Laundry detergent is also thoughtfully prepared. There are sanitary pads on the dressing table. There is a small chair for taking a shower. There are hand towels in the toilet. Most importantly, there is Netflix. When you open the window, you can see Angel Road. The clouds and mist are lingering every day. You will feel very good. It was also interesting to self-sufficient, and it was very good in the environment as I imagined when I saw the introduction site in advance.
I wanted to stay slowly, such as staying for a long time and fishing on the beach right there.
Only, did you have the function of re-burning the bath? Other than that, the room and toilet were clean and I had a very good stay!

Very good experience! If you speak Japanese, you can call the store in advance to communicate the details before check-in, such as whether you need the store to drive to pick you up, what time to have dinner and other details can be agreed in advance.
A great dinner and breakfast is provided, shocking
The service is thoughtful and meticulous, the environment is elegant, the store intimately provides skin care products (snow muscle essence), pajamas, slippers, bicycles, rafts, etc.
According to the official website, you can even make an appointment to fish and dig vegetables

李1. Transportation: I just missed the last bus when I arrived at the ferry pier on Shodoshima Island. It was only 1.5 kilometers away from the navigation and positioning, so I walked there. Leisure time, about 25 minutes.
2. Surroundings: It is about 15 minutes walk from Angel Road, about 5 minutes walk from the hypermarket, and 10 minutes walk from the ramen shop, but it is sold out at about 8 o'clock.
3. The hotel itself:
Service: The store is a very enthusiastic and gentleman old man, who takes the initiative and patiently introduces the surroundings of the hotel. My wife and I are both terrible in Japanese, but miraculously understand almost all under the various explanations of the old man;
Room: Japanese-style tatami room, the first experience, I think of Doraemon’s room, there is no separate bathroom, but it is very tidy, I like it very much; the bathroom is on the first floor, divided into men’s and women’s baths, and the latest use time is 10 o’clock.
4. Disadvantages: poor sound insulation. The reason why I say the shortcomings separately is because it is more obvious. In addition, it seems that there are no other shortcomings.
5. General comment: There may be many possibilities for different hotels in Shodoshima, but the next time you go, you will still choose to enter the boat first, and no more explanation is needed.

Suitable for self-driving, parking spaces are available (but parking spaces above Room 4 are in the corner under the house, which is not convenient at night). Self check in (check in online before check-in provides the check-in information, and receives an email two days before check-in about the room number, gate password and room lock box password; after arriving at the hotel, you will be at the front desk tablet check in, shadow passport (the light has been turned off at 8 o'clock, and the shadow is too dim to know the impact...😅)), The process is still simple, but the lock box has been tried many times and it has not been opened....Good color finally opened by the man.)
The room is large and you need to make your own bed; there is a separate toilet and sink in the room. The bathroom is on B/F, and each room has a key to the bathroom with its own room number. The light on the bathroom stairs is darker.
The Common area is large, with microwave ovens, water machines, TVs... The landscape is open, and the road to angels is seen.
