"This is definitely an experience not for everyone, but overall really good! Starting off with the strong points: the staff was amazing, and helped to actually create a daily itinerary for our stay, we ended up seeing way more than we planned and we really enjoyed the activities. The room was clean and a nice and unique experience. The staff picked us up from the airport and dropped us off at the next hotel. The staff was also very responsive on WeChat and helped us with a lot of info. The not so great things: the breakfast was really underwhelming, as well as dinner, pretty bland food. Since the room is in a tent, expect spiders and other bugs to crawl in. The bathroom … well it makes you appreciate the bathroom you have at home. It’s shared, and it’s not really clean, neither are the showers. Yes they get cleaned by the staff, but they need a deep clean with proper renovation. The worst part sadly was the washing machine. We had a bunch of clothes to wash when we arrived, we washed them, they came out more dusty and SOAKED with water. Like really soaked. After a long and tiring day with the flight we had to sit for 3 hours to dry our clothes by hand at midnight. Just make sure you don’t need to wash clothes here."

"Our stay at Colorful Danxia Flower House Hotel was truly exceptional—easily a 5-star experience. From the moment we arrived, the owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even personally helping us carry our luggage upstairs. His hospitality didn’t stop there—he kindly assisted us in booking tickets for a local show and even drove us there himself, which made our trip so much more convenient and enjoyable. The room was spotless, one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in, and it was clear that great care is taken to maintain high standards. We also really appreciated the free laundry service, which was incredibly helpful during our travels. The location is perfect—just a short walking distance to the west entrance of the Danxia park, making it easy to explore. Right across the hotel is a fantastic restaurant, so finding great food was effortless. To top it all off, the owner even prepared thoughtful departing gifts for us, which was such a warm and memorable touch. His kindness and attentiveness truly set this place apart. If you’re visiting the area, this hotel is an outstanding choice."

"The room was clean and spacious, and the location was excellent – within walking distance to the attraction entrance. The hotel's service truly stood out. On the day we checked in, I was in a hurry to head out to the attraction and completely forgot about sending my laundry. To my surprise, when I returned, my clean clothes were already neatly hung up! The service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Thank you! The hotel's Chinese restaurant was also good, and the breakfast selection was very rich. If I come back with my kids next time, I'll definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends. There are also slow-charging stations in the parking lot."

"the owner was so friendly and helpful. they brought us to the entrqnce personally. i only found out that there were two main entrances when i arrived. The North and West entrance. I ended up staying at the West entrance. Not much activities at night. The North was a lot more shops and restaurants around the area. One thing I like was the quietness and the hospitality shown by the owner. They provide a lot of water and a fruit platter too. We walked to the entrance the next morning. Only took about 15 min. Problem is the shuttle busses were not so frequent in the morning session from the West gate. One point to consider. Other than that, this place is superb for less noise. Thank you."

The owner is very talkative, easygoing, and friendly, making the experience very relaxed and comfortable. The guesthouse has car wash facilities, offering free car washes for those driving, which is very thoughtful. The guesthouse also has its own restaurant where you can enjoy authentic local cuisine; the food is delicious and flavorful, and the breakfast is well-balanced and nutritious. The staff are attentive and considerate throughout the stay. Most commendable is the owner's long-standing commitment to providing shuttle service to and from the scenic area, saving a lot of trouble. With its convenient one-stop service for food, accommodation, and transportation, and attention to detail, ”Those Bygone Years” (Qicai Danxia Branch) is a very cost-effective place to stay when visiting Qicai Danxia. Highly recommended for those driving."
