I randomly chose a hotel, but I was very satisfied. After returning home, I reminisced about my time on the Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop, and unexpectedly, this hotel was the first thing that popped into my mind. It was already quite late when I arrived at the hotel, and I was hungry. Surprisingly, there was a restaurant downstairs. While eating, I sat opposite an elderly couple who had immigrated from Canada, next to a family of four from Beijing, and two brothers (one of whom couldn't drive). I listened to them share their experiences and insights. At the time, I didn't think much of it, but now, looking back, it really was a case of ”at the time, it all seemed so ordinary.”

The hotel is very close to the Danxia Scenic Area. It was late after we finished exploring the area, so it was super convenient to get to the hotel. There's parking available right downstairs. The staff were really welcoming and even helped us with our luggage without us asking. I was traveling with two kids, and the front desk thoughtfully gave us an extra pair of slippers and an additional set of disposable towels and bath towels. These small details really showed how considerate they were. The room's curtains and lighting were smart, which was very convenient to use. The only slight downside was that breakfast was at a nearby diner and was a bit simple.

The rooms are clean and tidy, the service is friendly, and they even give us free watermelons to cool us down. The hotel is 500 meters from the west gate of the Qicai Danxia Scenic Area, with free parking in front of the hotel. It's convenient for travel and is the perfect place for self-driving tours.

This was the most surprising and also the cheapest hotel of my Qinghai-Gansu trip. I originally planned to stay in Zhangye, but I was so tired from traveling all day that I just wanted to find a place near the sights and rest immediately after exploring. The pictures online looked decent, but the room was unexpectedly spacious! What really impressed me was the amazing service from the owner and his wife! We picked up the airport at Zhangye West Station and went to the hotel very comfortably. The room is very comfortable, and the room can see the colorful danxia, ​​and the view is also very good. Although it was not the peak season and there were not many customers, the staff took care of me very kindly. There are lakes, fields and animals surrounding the hotel, so you should be able to rest comfortably in the summer. It is about a 10-minute drive from the entrance of Colorful Danxia. The navigation for Qicai Danxia seems a bit far, but it's actually quite close. You can cross the street at any entrance. The facilities are very complete.
