"After comparing several accommodations for my trip to Zhangye Danxia, I chose Kaoshan Daying (Back Mountain Camp). The Starry Sky Yurt was what truly captivated me, and my entire stay exceeded expectations – highly recommended! Location-wise, the camp is right next to the West Gate of the Danxia scenic area, making travel incredibly convenient. No need for roundabout detours; I could step out early in the morning to catch the Danxia sunrise. This fantastic location also saved me a lot of effort when it came to stargazing at night. Now, let's talk about the Starry Sky Yurt. Before I arrived, I was a bit worried about roughing it in a tent out in the wilderness, but my stay completely changed my mind. The yurt was spotlessly clean and tidy, well-ventilated with no strange odors. The bed was soft and comfortable, and despite the large temperature swings in the Gobi Desert between day and night, the interior was well-insulated and never felt cold or damp. The en-suite bathroom was excellent, with 24-hour hot water and a full range of toiletries. It truly offered a luxurious wilderness experience that blended comfort with ambiance, without compromising on daily conveniences. However, the panoramic skylight at the top of the yurt was the real highlight and the biggest surprise of my trip. The camp is far from the city, meaning almost no light pollution. As night fell, the entire sky was unblocked and spread out above me. I didn't even have to step outside into the wind; I could lie in bed and gaze up at the countless stars. The Milky Way stretched clearly across the mountains, with stars so bright and dense – a magnificent night sky rarely seen in the city. Lying there quietly, watching the celestial river flow and listening to the distant Gobi breeze, all my travel fatigue slowly melted away. It was incredibly romantic and healing. The camp's amenities were also very thoughtful. In the evening, you can enjoy a starlit BBQ and hotpot. After dinner, there's a bonfire party. Then, after a stroll, you return to your yurt to continue enjoying the tranquil starry sky. The self-driving parking area is spacious, and RV resupply facilities are comprehensive. The staff were warm and meticulous in their service; they thoughtfully informed me of the best stargazing times and were always on hand to help with any issues. The unique Danxia mountain light show at night, coupled with the vast starry sky, created a multi-layered and stunning view. The special clear-broth suoyang hotpot was authentic and generously portioned, perfect for a hot meal after a day of exploring. Whether you're traveling as a couple or with friends, the Starry Sky Yurt is an exceptionally suitable choice. You can admire the Danxia landforms up close and immerse yourself in lying under the Milky Way – it perfectly combines natural beauty with comfortable accommodation. This is an unmissable gem when visiting Danxia, and I will definitely choose the Starry Sky Yurt again on my next trip to Zhangye."

"Our stay at Colorful Danxia Flower House Hotel was truly exceptional—easily a 5-star experience. From the moment we arrived, the owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even personally helping us carry our luggage upstairs. His hospitality didn’t stop there—he kindly assisted us in booking tickets for a local show and even drove us there himself, which made our trip so much more convenient and enjoyable. The room was spotless, one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in, and it was clear that great care is taken to maintain high standards. We also really appreciated the free laundry service, which was incredibly helpful during our travels. The location is perfect—just a short walking distance to the west entrance of the Danxia park, making it easy to explore. Right across the hotel is a fantastic restaurant, so finding great food was effortless. To top it all off, the owner even prepared thoughtful departing gifts for us, which was such a warm and memorable touch. His kindness and attentiveness truly set this place apart. If you’re visiting the area, this hotel is an outstanding choice."

"This hotel is incredibly close to the Danxia scenic area, even closer to the visitor center than some parts of the official parking lot. They host a lot of tour groups, but that's no issue at all! They upgraded my standard room two categories to a family room. No worries about breakfast either; the tour groups are usually gone by 8 AM, just as I'm waking up. There aren't many dining options nearby, but the parking attendant at the entrance was super helpful. All in all, for the price, it's absolutely perfect."

"We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The room was very nice, incredibly spacious, and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was also good with a nice variety to start the day. What truly made our stay memorable was the staff—their attentiveness and service were exceptional, and they were incredibly friendly. Even though we didn't speak the same language, communication worked perfectly using a translation app. We are already looking forward to visiting again!"

"the owner was so friendly and helpful. they brought us to the entrqnce personally. i only found out that there were two main entrances when i arrived. The North and West entrance. I ended up staying at the West entrance. Not much activities at night. The North was a lot more shops and restaurants around the area. One thing I like was the quietness and the hospitality shown by the owner. They provide a lot of water and a fruit platter too. We walked to the entrance the next morning. Only took about 15 min. Problem is the shuttle busses were not so frequent in the morning session from the West gate. One point to consider. Other than that, this place is superb for less noise. Thank you."

Free parking is readily available. The hotel offers comprehensive facilities, a pleasant environment, and excellent value for money. The owner is warm and welcoming, making for a perfect stay – highly recommended!"

"This stay experience is very good, must give the hotel five stars praise! The hotel's facilities are very complete, the room bedding, towels and other supplies are clean and tidy, the bathroom is separated from wet and dry, giving people a very safe and comfortable living feeling. In the evening, I also watched the historical sitcom ”Back to Zhangye”. It was very shocking. The front desk staff checked in and checked out efficiently and quickly. They also took the initiative to provide surrounding attractions and dining recommendations. They were very enthusiastic and helped to take the initiative to carry luggage. It was very good and worth recommending!"

"The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was super convenient. It was a quick walk straight out the door to the Colorful Danxia景区, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. The owner was really welcoming too. We arrived at the hotel after 5 PM, and to help us save time, the owner even drove us directly to the scenic area entrance."

The location was very convenient, just a five or six minute walk from the scenic area. The front desk was extremely friendly and even offered us helpful suggestions for nearby restaurants, which was very thoughtful. The room was even cleaner than the pictures showed, the bathroom was neatly maintained, and the water temperature was stable. The breakfast was homely and delicious. Overall, the value for money was excellent. I would stay here again next time I'm in the area and highly recommend it to everyone!"
