"I found an amazing guesthouse while traveling in Jingmai Mountain. It's absolutely fantastic, everyone! It's incredibly clean, and the owner is incredibly kind and lovely! Haha, he always greets me when I come back from my trip, so genuinely thoughtful. It's very relaxing, slow-paced, and Zen-like – just pure comfort, both physically and emotionally. In the evenings, we had a self-service barbecue with potatoes, oranges, sugarcane, sunflower seeds, and lychees – just chatting casually around the charcoal fire. For those who need it: This guesthouse is in Mangjing, but not in the heart of the village. However, it's within easy reach of anywhere, less than a kilometer away, and you can walk there. The front desk has a phone number for booking a car if needed. Most importantly, it's located on a slope next to the main road, giving it a very secluded feel!"

"I have been to Lancang for the Spring Festival for three consecutive years. I stayed at the Hualong Hotel before, but this time I found it to be a great place. The rooms are very big, the facilities are very new, and the breakfast is very rich! The handsome guy at the front desk provided excellent service, thumbs up! I will stay here again next year. Due to changes in my itinerary, I checked out one day early and the room fee was refunded smoothly! Very good experience!"

"I was very satisfied with the guesthouse I booked this time. The owner was very kind, simple, and friendly. We even had tea and chatted with him after dinner. The guesthouse was very clean, and all the disposable items were provided. The toilet even had a smart toilet. The terrace was huge with an absolutely stunning view, perfect for watching the sunset without any obstruction. It was very comfortable to enjoy the breeze and scenery on the terrace every day. It's very close to Wengji, and not far from Manghong to watch the sunrise and sunset. It's also convenient to get there by car. I will definitely stay here again next time I come. #hygiene"

Lancang Jingmai Airport is the closest major transportation option, approximately 73km away. The nearest airport is Lancang Jingmai Airport, approximately 73km from the hotel. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Jingmai Mountain Tea Forest Cultural Scenic Area, Puyunjing Viewing Platform and Gulao Tea Mountain Villa all nearby. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. Guests of this Lancang hotel can make use of the parking facilities. Guests tell us the location of this hotel is fantastic. For guests traveling with families, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.

"The location is great, right in the center of the village. You can enjoy the sea of clouds and sunset from the second-floor tea room without even leaving. It's very relaxing, and the staff's attitude is quite good. However, there are a few drawbacks: 1. Although you can enjoy free tea in the second-floor tea room, it's a bit disappointing that there are no complimentary tea bags in the room. Even hotels not located in tea-producing regions usually provide tea bags in every room. 2. If the shower and toilet aren't separated, they should at least provide a pair of plastic slippers. Otherwise, wearing disposable slippers after a shower is very slippery and easy to trip. Not wearing any shoes isn't hygienic, especially since it's about 2 meters from the shower to the door."

"The first established hotel as you enter the mountains, with plenty of parking spaces right across the street, which is very convenient. It's a bit far from the attractions, so you'll need a car. They offer butler-style service; they'll contact you the day before to provide the address, travel tips, and other information. The hotel has a good variety of activities planned, including roasted milk tea, stir-fried melon seeds, and bonfires in the evening. The hotel's dinner was just okay, with plenty of room for improvement. Breakfast on the rooftop had a great ambiance and taste. The rooms aren't luxurious but are perfectly adequate. The air conditioning was a bit old and didn't heat very well. I didn't have time to experience the travel photography session. It was really expensive during Chinese New Year, haha."

The Lancang branch of Baibaile Hotel Group is a comprehensive hotel integrating accommodation, catering, and coffee and tea tasting. The hotel has a total of 45 rooms of different types and is equipped with free facilities such as a gym, a laundry room, a tea room, and a coffee bar. It is an excellent choice for your travel.

"It's quite good. It's the best business hotel I've stayed in recently. The supplies are complete, the meals are rich, and the service is quite good for a business hotel. As a practitioner in the hotel industry for many years, I feel sorry for the boss. There are too many redundant parts. It's difficult to support such complex supplies, meals, and labor costs at this room rate, and it's a franchise hotel. The hotel is good, but from an investment perspective, you still need to consider the ** time issue."

"Newly renovated hotel, tasteless, solid walls are very quiet and solid, the whole floor-to-ceiling windows look at the scenery outside the window is very good, there are small snacks + cold tea, the proprietress is very warm and generous; breakfast specially prepared hot snacks + hot noodles. The front desk lobby on the first floor is full of root carvings, wood carvings, for enjoyment and appreciation. The nightlife of the subsequent friends may be richer, and the octagonal building in the courtyard is built + a good place for the large yard bonfire party. Have the opportunity to come again."

"We chose to stay in Wengwa, the least commercialized village, because we were driving there. The guesthouse owner was very kind and hospitable; he couldn't speak Mandarin clearly, but he kept making tea for us. The rooftop offered an unobstructed view of the sunset and sea of clouds—it was very comfortable. There was a small courtyard on the first floor where we could make tea and enjoy the breeze. It wasn't expensive, but it was so comfortable we didn't want to leave, and we stayed again the next day. You can walk to the village's viewing platform to watch the sunset, or you can watch it from the rooftop. The room was also very large and nice. The view from the window was great! 👍"

"Welcome fruit: Just in time for the store to make plums mixed with salt and chili, it is wonderfully tasted, but unexpectedly not bad. Pu'er ancient tree tea tasting: This trip to Jingmai Mountain really made me drink enough good tea that I hadn't drunk before. Local special fire pond roast tea experience: sitting with strangers by the fire pond listening to the sound of firewood burning, and then looking up to see the stars in the sky, it is really a wonderful feeling. Facilities: Nothing to say, worth the price Hygienic: very clean Environment: The location is really great, at the height of the mango scene. The sunset view in all public areas is unobstructed. Service: Up to the proprietress, down to the waiter sister, I feel very intimate."

The environment was very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful view whwre you can see some of the sea of clouds. They give you disposable coverings for you to put on top of the fresh pillow bedding and mattress for extra hygiene which is a nice touch I haven't seen before. Bathroom is very clean, though there are only two toilets and two showers and two sinks, so do note that for busy season, but it wasn't an issue at all during my stay. They provided breakfast too, fresh milk the boss heated for me when I got up, and red sugar glutinous rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves (babas), and it was fun to get ready for the day with new friends on the balcony overlooking the village. I think the environment is very good for meeting new friends and other solo travelers- I arrived at the hostel randomly at the same time as three other girls, and we explored Manghong togetjer on the boss's recommendations for itinerary and sightseeing. And the next day the boss dropped us off at a tea roasting experience, and just as we were heading to Nuogan another girl from the hostel finished her tea roasting session, so we all went to Nuogan togetjer to play. The boss even helped load my luggage onto the shuttle bus so that it could pick me up at a sightseeing spot further down the mountain!

The location had great views over the valley, including the early morning sea of cloud. The property has a rooftop lookout that our group could get together to enjoy the view. It helped that our taxi could drive through the narrow road of Mengben village and deposit us and our luggage on the doorstep of the homestay. This is unlike Wengji & Nuogang villages, where cars are not allowed to enter the village but deposit visitors at the village carpark. The hospitality of the owner/hostess was remarkable. She had a Pu'er tea table and made us endless cups of different tea all grown in her farm, explaining their differences and virtues. She did not charge us a cent for the whole experience. Neither did she try to hard sell the tea leaves although we did buy a small amount off her because we enjoyed the tea. She is a good cook and whipped up breakfast and lunch for us.

Amazing stay! The house is located just outside the village on a quiet road. The rooms are super clean, well equipped, and have air conditioning, which is important in winter. But beyond the house itself, the real highlight is the owner. We shared several tea-drinking sessions where he explained the secrets of Pu’er tea and Bulang traditions and history. Despite the language barrier (we don’t speak Chinese and he doesn’t speak English), he made a huge effort using translator apps, and communication was easy and fun. He is incredibly knowledgeable and kind, we highly recommend spending time drinking tea with him. He also created a WeChat mini-app with guides and information about the area, which we used a lot and found very helpful. Our stay was unforgettable: the Jingmai mountains were the highlight of our trip to China, and we went home with some amazing Pu’er tea and great memories. Looking forward to coming back!

In Jingmai Mountain, time isn't measured in hours, but in 'cups of tea.' Staying here for two days felt like being cleansed by the mountain mists. I woke up to watch the sea of clouds spill over the tea plantations, spent afternoons on the terrace sipping tea and daydreaming, and in the evenings, watched the sunset paint the distant mountains gold. The room was spacious, and every window offered a picturesque view. The wellness experience here is wonderful—it's not a forced 'healing' but rather a natural process that helps you slow down. The most unforgettable moment was a morning after the rain, with the air filled with the scent of tea and earth. In that instant, I felt that life is truly worth living.

We had an amazing stay at the Guest House. It's situated a bit down from Wengji village centre : amazing view of the mountains and nights are very calm ! We really appreciated staying in Jingmai mountain region, a more preserved and authentic area, especially after having visited Northern Yunnan where we were sometimes disappointed.... We rented an e-scooter at Mangjing which was very convenient to visit villages and tea forests around. The family is very nice and helpful, we really appreciated discovering all these different teas : green, black, white, etc. And so happy to have bought some home ! Wishing you the best ! Last year, I decided to spend three days in Jingmai Mountain for Chinese New Year. Coincidentally, the Holiday Inn at the foot of Jingmai Mountain was about to open and offering a promotion, so I booked it without hesitation. The hotel is located in Huimin Town, at the base of Jingmai Mountain. In town, there's Bolian, Liushi, and reportedly, an Aman that's under construction. The hotel's immediate surroundings are nothing special; the commercial area meant to complement it feels unfinished, but it doesn't affect your stay. Parking is right by the hotel entrance on the roadside. The room seemed to have been treated for formaldehyde, as there was no strange odor. Breakfast was decent, but felt a bit basic. I think it could be more elaborate, considering it's a resort hotel. The staff were all very enthusiastic and proactive in resolving any issues; their attitude was excellent, they were never unhelpful. After all, it's an international chain with consistent training, standards, and service.

The room is super large, the view is super good, the boss is hospitable, there is a big tree outside the balcony of the room, the scenery is so beautiful! Sitting on the balcony can watch the sunrise and sunset and the starry sky! Beautiful! The boss service is also great! Take the bus to the Wengji Station, contact the boss in advance to have a car to the station Zikou to receive the homestay, and the return trip will also send us to the station Zikou bus pavilion. The homestay also has roast corn roast sweet potatoes roast potatoes roasted ~ each one is super good! Breakfast has steamed corn steamed sweet potatoes and eggs, as well as stir-fried vegetables, rice noodles, noodles, and multiple choices of rice! Overall, it's great!

All the reviews are true, but it’s not the wooden building that causes it.  Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.  Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.  The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.  The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this. Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.  Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.  We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.  Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.  For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby.

Location: Located in Mangjing, the hotel is easily accessible by bus, with stops readily available. Restaurants are within a few hundred meters, making it very convenient. Environment: While the room's decor is simple, its biggest advantage is a large window offering panoramic views of Jingmai Mountain. There's also a huge terrace, which I thoroughly enjoyed, witnessing the sunset and sea of clouds. Service: The staff was very welcoming. Upon arrival, they offered me a cup of herbal tea in the lobby, and always greeted me with a smile. Returning home at night, the brightly lit houses along the dimly lit country roads provided a sense of security. Suggestion: The breakfast selection could be more varied. Facilities: Disposable toilet seat covers were provided, and there was plenty of hot water. Even with the fan on at night, it was still quite cool. Cleanliness: There was a small stain on the toilet seat, and the common area leading to the terrace was somewhat cluttered. With better design and organization, it could be significantly improved. Summary: I initially thought this might be just an average guesthouse, but my stay was excellent. I highly recommend it; it's great value for money.
