The hostel is in a great area! The hostel itself is great and the staff are very helpful. Only issue in the bedroom is the power ports. They are all on the bottom and not reachable for the top beds.

The room facilities are a bit dated but fully equipped, including a washing machine, dishwasher, stove, and iron. A thoughtful touch was finding two books about Australian culture and customs in the TV cabinet. From the hotel, it's only a little over a kilometer's walk to the Sydney Opera House, and there's a bus stop just a couple of hundred meters away. For this price, given its location in Sydney, it offers great value for money.

I arrived early, having not slept well on the flight. I was hoping to pay extra for an early check-in to rest, but unfortunately, all rooms were full. I had to leave my luggage and go out for a while before coming back. Across the street is a coffee shop, The Coffee Brewer, where I had a flat white, a Wagyu burger, and a banana cake. Then I walked past Hyde Park, St Mary's Cathedral, and explored QVB. I bought a SIM card at WWS across from Town Hall. I came back around 1 PM and checked in without any issues. The room was spacious; although it showed some signs of age, it was clearly well-maintained. The air conditioning fan was a bit noisy at night. Rooms are cleaned every 3 days, and if you need fresh towels or trash emptied, you have to request it at the front desk. The hotel also checks if you want cleaning at the scheduled time. There's a laundry room on the 3rd floor, but only one washer and one dryer were working (the other washing machine was broken). Each costs three $2 coins, and laundry detergent is $2, which you can get from the front desk. On the first night, around midnight, the fire alarm blared. I saw fire trucks downstairs. I called the front desk, and they said security was investigating the cause. I could already see people leaving the building outside. This might be a bit disorienting for first-time visitors to Australia, but it shows that locals have good safety awareness. Luckily, it was a false alarm. Note that there are restrooms only on the ground floor, but they require key card access. A very polite and courteous staff member in the breakfast area told me I could use the restrooms there. The front desk usually has fewer staff, and it can be very busy in the mornings and at lunchtime, but their attitude is generally good. For check-in, they require a card swipe on the POS machine for system records. The nearest bus stops are mostly by Hyde Park, a bit of a walk away. During my stay, the City2Surf event was happening, which made the room rates much higher that day. Overall, considering the prices in Sydney, it was still good value for money.

Traveling solo, I found the hotel's location to be excellent. The bed was surprisingly large, and it's a shared bathroom setup. They provided some complimentary snacks, which was a nice touch. However, the soundproofing in the room was a bit weak, and breakfast was just okay. Other than that, everything else was pretty good.

The staff are helpful and response promptly. The breakfast got a lot of choices for me such as sausages, eggs, bean which are in hot & fresh condition. The breakfast room is clean and warm. If you like, you can sit outside (balcony) where is nice too. Oh ya, you may keep your baggage in the office when you are going out for few hours. Overall, very good!

Very nice view from our room widows. There are full of different types restaurants on the ground floor. But If you close the window, the sound proof is excellent which I typically want to recommend. Stuffs are friendly and helpful, willing to give you recommendations if you are first-time visitors. They even wrote a welcome card. They have a ballroom here just opposite the reception, holding different personal events every night. I like the vibe which means it's popular place and safe. The hotel is friendly to those who travel with dogs. They have special bed and food for dogs. But we didn't need it and the dog net door barked very early in the morning. We were OK with it. At the other aspect, the hotel goes too much. The breakfast is allllll for vegetarians. Yes, all. As a guest, you are left with no choice. This is the only point that I particularly hate. Be whatever you like, just don't push others to do the something, especially when you are running a business.
