"We booked 2 nights, but we checked out early.I didn’t expect toilet and shower room are separate or common .it’s very inconvenient to us and so noisy because of the construction.you need to carry your luggage from 1st floor to 2nd floor. And i was surprised while we sleeping that morning staff open the door for cleaning 😡😡😡"

Shimanami PRIME HOTEL IMABARI ★★★★

📍 4-6-10 Tokiwacho, Imabari

"This hotel is very new, and it's only around 3 minutes walking distant away from the JR station. The lobby is very big with big windows and has many chairs for guest to sit and rest, there are also bike rack for you to lock the bike at the lobby. We were surprised to find out that there's welcome drinks and beer is also included. Our room was on one of the higher floor, so the view was beautiful. Breakfast was buffet style and was amazing, selection was great and delicious. Would definitely stay there again if we visit the area. The only downside is the staff doesn't understand English too well, but not too big of an issue when there's google translate."

Simanami Guest House Orange No Kaze Hotels in Imabari

Simanami Guest House Orange No Kaze

"AVOID! It's soooo expensive and yet its the worst place I've stayed. Super rude staff refused to let me check in for hours! They insisted I didn't have a booking but I did and I showed them the booking confirmation but still they insisted I had no booking and that the hotel was full. The old couple didn't even look for my booking until they had kept me waiting for hours. Then they blamed me for everything! They were angry and rude to me and insisted it was my mistake. They even tried to kick me out. In the end they realised it was their mistake and were clearly super embarrassed about how they treated me but they wouldn't apologise."

Jr Clement Inn Imabari ★★★
"The staff's service, amenities, location next to the station, and breakfast were all excellent. I would like to stay here again. The desk in the room felt a little small, but otherwise, I have no complaints. It's a good choice for business trips or when staying with friends in separate rooms. There's a public bath nearby, and you can conveniently purchase tickets for it at the front desk."

Super Hotel Imabari ★★★
"The hotel has a great atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and the staff are very fluent in multiple languages, including providing room instructions in several languages – a thoughtful touch. Downstairs, there's a welcome bar table with a wide selection of drinks (including alcoholic beverages) and a microwave for light meals. It's a great place for groups to chat and enjoy drinks, fostering a pleasant and collaborative experience. The onsen (hot spring bath) is also very clean and comfortable, though a bit small. It might feel cramped with a large group, but the room TV displays the number of people allowed in the onsen, allowing you to schedule usage. Washing and drying facilities are provided, which are easy to use and convenient, perfect for washing clothes immediately after cycling."

Wakka ★★★
"I stayed at WAKKA as it was a good halfway point while cycling the Shimanami Kaido as situated in Omishima Island. The service that WAKKA provides is awesome- they have thought of everything. Firstly Claudio, who managed the booking was very patient, corresponding with me over so many emails and providing very useful suggestions. At no point did I feel that he was trying up upsell products to me. The staff are so friendly and helpful I would like to say a big thank you to two staff members in particular who we interacted with the most - Attican and Sugoi ( sorry if I have the spelling or you names slightly wrong. We had WAKKA provide the bike for us, drop them off in Onomichi at our hotel at pick them up at Imabari. The condition of the bikes were excellent. They looked pretty new, well serviced and they provided us with gel seat covers. They also took our luggage from Onomichi to WAKKA and dropped them off to our hotel in Imbari on our last day. It was worth paying extra for the convenience. We splashed out and stayed in one of the cottages rather than the dorms and they were very comfortable and cute with a deck to sit on and a view of one of the bridges and the sea. The size of the cottage was good. Decor is kind of Scandi style - very tasteful. Bathroom was a bit small. Whilst the toilet was seperate and the shower had a curtain. It was a bit awkward getting undressed or dressed in the shower cubicle. So would have been good to have a curtain or some kind of screen partitioning the bathroom area. There is an iPad in the room where you can book for the activities that WAKKA provide (fishing, cruises, making stuff) . You can also order food and drinks which will be brought to you. Fluency in English of all the staff we encountered was high. It looked like a few were ex-pats. They also charge your e-bikes for you every evening when you get back from your day cycling, welcome you on your arrival day with a cold tea ( which was very much appreciated since we arrived on a stinking hot day) , have a laundry (costs 550 yen to use). They also offer a shuttle at set times to take you to Omishima town to go to restaurants there or will book a restaurant for you nearby. We went to a seafood restaurant across the road and had sashimi. It was very fresh and reasonably priced. We had breakfast there both days and it was a very nice hearty breakfast - you definitely won’t go away hungry and it kept me going until lunchtime. On our final night, we just sat on the deck and ordered snacks for our dinner which were delicious. It’s very peaceful and chilled and a lovely way to end the evening after a hard days cycling. WAKKA is not cheap but worth paying a bit extra for the convenience if you can afford it. I think it’s one of the only places that provides the service of picking up the e-bikes at your final destination along the Shimanami kaido. You’re also paying for the service they provide and hospitality which in my opinion is top notch. The staff ther"

"It's a little far from the station, but I chose it because it's close to Imabari Castle. I didn't use the large public bath, but they provide bath salts for relaxing in your room, which I think is great. This wasn't a trip where I could relax, so I'd like to stay here again if I have the opportunity."
