"Our stay at the Hexham Travelodge has honestly been the best experience we have had from all other Travelodge facilities in the country, and we have stayed at many while travelling around England. This enjoyable stay has been due to the wonderful staff and their pleasant attitude to customers and the hard work they strive to keep the hotel facilities in tip top condition and cleanliness. Our pet dog also says thanks for the breakfast sausages."

The Beaumont Hexham

The Beaumont Hexham

📍 Beaumont St, Hexham
★★★ 9.2 (101 reviews)

"Bed very low and hard bedhead curved so pillows fall down behind. Breakfast advertised 17.50 when went they charged you for individual items which turns out very expensive. Parking only 7 cars free in underground carpark. Bar has awful draught beer if you like beer with lemon flavour your ok. Asked for sofa bed for other guest when arrived not set up or bedding. After paying alot of money for 1 night stay thought ot wd be good. Sorry but i would not book this hotel again"

The Coach and Horses

The Coach and Horses

📍 Coach & Horses, 32 Priestpopple, Hexham
★★★ 8.4 (50 reviews)

"Well located and with knowledgeable staff. My room was small, but tasteful and comfortable. What I didn’t like was the fact the “bar” spilled over onto the pavement in front and to get to the reception we had to weave through some rather inebriated customers with all the accompanying shouting and swearing. The noise was very audible from my father’s bedroom in the front - thankfully we were staying on a Sunday so he was not kept up. Given the substantial beer garden in the rear I think they would do well to scrap the tables at the front as it lets the accommodation down both in terms of first impressions and guest experience."

The Twice Brewed Inn Hotels in Hexham

The Twice Brewed Inn

"We stayed here because there was an event hosted by the place and it was very convenient just near the hotel. The tour itself was clean, but it was really small so it was hard to move around. However, everything else is OK."

The Bowes Hotel Hotels in Hexham

The Bowes Hotel

"A simply amazing stay. Firstly Ian and his team helped us remedy an error made by ******* on booking rooms at the Bowes hotel. Really friendly and interpersonal staff along with extensive knowledge of the area and further beyond particularly Hadrian's Wall path along with the Roman Museums and Forts. The food served was amazing aswell, better than some other independent restaurants, also the Thai-cakes are a must try! The room is clean and tidy with a great buffet breakfast to boot, they also make lunch for your journey ahead. If you are staying at Bardon Mill, this is the place to be, just a walk away from the station that connects back to Newcastle. Friendly neighbourhood and locals that shares stories from their journeys and also fellow travellers from around the world mostly doing the Hadrian's Wall walk. I cannot fault this wonderful and cosy hotel and pub that is the Bowes Hotel!"

Shaftoes Guest House Hotels in Hexham

Shaftoes Guest House

"We spent five superb nights at this amazing B&B. Lois & David are the perfect hosts and go out of their way to make everyone’s stay perfect. Every little touch is carefully thought about, it’s spotlessly clean and breakfasts are beautifully cooked, very generous portions & extremely well presented. Thank you so much for making our stay with you so special, we loved your cosy B&B & hope to return in the future."

Travelodge Hexham ★★★
"We stayed for one night. A cheerful greeting on arrival and we were given information about our stay. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and it was a good size room. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of hot and cold choice and was decent quality. Our only negative was that the toilet space in the bathroom was somewhat snug!!"

Brown Rigg Guest Rooms ★★★
"My boyfriend booked us a very last minute night away because I have not been able to sleep and it was the best decision we could’ve made - brown rigg’s xl double bed is cosy and comfortable, and staying in the middle of a dark park is bliss; with no light pollution and only noise being from nature I had an incredibly restful night. The rooms themselves have very clearly been thoughtfully curated with solid furniture, plenty of outlets, and little luxuries like ringtons tea and Bayliss and Harding soap. The history of the school buildings is included in a little booklet on the wall which I really appreciated reading through (we stayed in the infirmary) it also included an introduction to the family (human and fury) that run brown rigg which added to a homely feel. We didn’t explore very much of the communal spaces - though you can make a brew in your room which is all I’m fussed about - but I think I would like to see what the games room has to offer upon return as well as meet the horses. I can’t wait to come back for a longer stay, perhaps during the acoustic festival in September, and take part more in the offerings at brown rigg and explore the local towns/ countryside. In the meantime for the location, price, and offering I could not recommend a stay here enough."

"Apartments attached to this friendly, clean pub. In a beautiful area, river, pubs close by. Near to Hadrians wall areas ..our apartment was a large double bed, t.v. courtesy tray. Lovely hot shower, white fluffy towels. Small joint kitchen area, providing cereals, fridge, yoghurt, milk, bread, jams etc. Cereal bars, fresh fruit, clean white crockery. The owners were very accommodating, made up welcome, giving local information, guidance and I will definitely revisit here"

"we stayed at the fabulous Coach and Horses Hexham, for a nostalgic weekend . This was the first time I had been back to Hexham for almost 55yrs. I cannot sing the praises enough of a young man called Ian I think he was part of the management team, who went out of his way to make us feel relaxed and comfortable. Ian also arranged a fabulous evening with a wonderful childhood friend of mine, whom he coincidentally knew. All of the staff were very attentive, the rooms were pristine and the food was great. Thank you to all of the staff but especially Ian, for making this such a truly memorable weekend. Cannot recommend highly enough."
