The Hive at Poppi-Red

"Booked 3 Night break for The Hive at Poppy Red in December for £140 per night , expectations where high, bitterly disappointed. No basic housekeeping daily, no coffee pods replenished or cups and glasses replaced So paid dearly for a boutique Hotel that has no Services!!!! Had an email with directions how to get in room via a back door entrance up an alley with dustbins and old bits of rubbish not a good start On the upside a beautiful bathroom and bedroom, but woken every morning by workmen Refurbishing the Poppy Red Cafe and bar We had no email to state this was happening as If I had know would have cancelled booking So if you looking for a Hotel that self catering With no services for a luxury price this is the hotel for you"

"We called into this lovely pub for a cold drink and food, This is a quaint old pub full of character and charm, they had a lunchtime special on of a sandwich and soup for £10 the food and soup were very tasty. Hawkshead town is very small but full of character and charm which i recommend."

High Grassings Country House
