"We had the room with the king size bed and bunk beds. Only one night. It was comfortable and reasonably clean, but of dust here and there and one of the towels was dirty. Tiny doors and stairs, especially up to the bathroom. Due to the quirky head heights the mirror was at waist level. Breakfast was continental but very nice. Easy to park and the town is so lovely."

"I booked two rooms for last Saturday night and a car breakdown on the way prevented me from honoring the booking on the day. The hotel was totally inflexible in refusing to give me credit for another occasion even though this is common practice. Said they would keep me informed if the rooms were resold but never did. "Having given the owner of this awful place plenty of time to issue a refund…several months in fact….I have taken to writing a bad review. This place was terrible… nobody here when we arrived, owner and his son finally turned up they were rude and had clearly been drinking!! Not an issue except the owner was driving! Shown to room it was filthy with stuff left from previous guests, dusty and needed updating. Breakfast only available to owners convenience and had to share a bathroom which is not great. Felt like we had moved into a house share rather than booking a relaxing night away! Have requested refund multiple times including in person before we left but didn’t argue our point as there were several of the sons mates there and we felt threatened! All emails ignored! Needless to say would never stay again and would advise anyone else to avoid!!"

"A beautiful old pub with historical bedrooms. In fact very beautifully green and located on the river, but unfortunately the highway is very close and clear to hear. In particular in summer, if you want to sleep at open window, it is disturbing. The dinner is a pub is great, as well as breakfast and staff is very friendly."

"I stayed here with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend as we had booked a driving experience at the dunsfold track a short drive away. - Guy couldn’t do enough for us to ensure a comfortable home from home stay. He was very welcoming on our arrival, told us places we could go to get supplies as we hadn’t brought any. He provided the most delicious breakfast on our two mornings. And we had dinner on valentines night which was clear he had gone over and above to make it extra special. Very reasonably priced we slept in a self contained cottage which had the most beautiful views. His gorgeous dog Winston was a welcome addition to our party. We usually choose to stay in a lodge with a hot tub and that would have been a nice luxury to add but it was still peaceful and relaxing . - he baked us fresh bread each morning, served with a cafetière of coffee and a pot of tea with fresh orange juice before a very tasty breakfast. I could easily have stayed there longer and would definitely arrange for him to cook more culinary delights which was well presented and absolutely delicious and priced way below what it was worth. I would highly recommend this place and would love to return in the future. I think my dog would absolutely love it too. - a real hidden gem that’s not only great value but friendly and cosy too"
