"What a truly wonderful experience! I write this review while appreciating the most beautiful view from the pool. Elounda Heights is by far the most friendly welcoming hotel we’ve ever stayed in. It’s run by a lovely family with fabulous staff who go out of their way to make your holiday special and memorable. Amazing home made jams and treats kick off a delicious freshly prepared breakfast served to table. Thank you Cleo for the delicious rice pudding we’ll be back for more of that for sure! Lunch at the pool bar great too especially the Greek Club. Sun beds plentiful surrounding a peaceful and relaxing pool area. We’re staying in a Studio which is large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It’s a truly special place impeccably run with home from home touches. Beautiful grounds beautiful views and one we will return to, hopefully very soon. Thank you all for a wonderful holiday."

"The hotel was disappointing, clearly it was not ready for the season.Whilst the staff were positive the general standards let it down. Our first room had no hot water we then moved without any help to another room which had nice terrace and seaview. The loungers unfortunately were broken and took two days to get changed. The breakfast was basic no live cooking and repetitive. Hotel needs a full overhaul, broken signs, missing lights, dirty windows etc. luckily we made our holiday out of the hotel and still enjoyed our trip."

"My wife and I just returned from a 7night stay, and we loved it. The people working here, all the people, clearly understand that you get the basics right - and you work hard at that for sure - but then it's the little things that lift a hotel up to the next level. For example, we were arriving late and they had thought to have some nice fresh snacks in the fridge and a bottle of wine to welcome us. There is clearly a lot of work going on from housekeeping, to the care of the facilities, but it feels unobtrusive. I can't speak highly enough, and I do hope that we get the chance to stay here again."

"I wanted to share my positive experience during a recent stay with my granddaughter Ada.  Yannis was incredibly helpful and friendly upon our arrival. Ada had hurt her thumb, and Yannis was very kind in assisting with that. In fact, we found all the hotel staff to be lovely and always ready to help. We also really appreciated the nice hotel and the good choice of food available at the jungle bar, which was nicely presented. Our room was spotlessly clean and the hotel overall felt very child-friendly. We had a very happy and enjoyable time and would highly recommend your hotel as a great place to stay. "We had a fabulous week staying here. Beautifully quiet and private. We were met by Elias on arrival, and shown round the villa. We really appreciated the tray of cakes and biscuits, as well as the stocked fridge of water, wine and soft drinks. Although it was too cool to enjoy the pool, it was lovely sitting outside next to it. The villa itself was almost perfect. I say almost, as there were a few areas that needed tidying up and the shower being over the bath was a little difficult to get into. (Being a couple over 60) We would definitely stay here again."

"We can't begin to say how nice of stay we had at Elounda Peninsula. Everything from the welcoming when we first arrived, to our great room, the service, cleanliness, and just overall friendliness of the staff. Maria our housekeeping service was excellent, and provided everything we needed from special pillows, to extra blanket, and bath accessories. The front desk staff (and I did not catch everyone's names) Natalie, Poppi, Manos, Stavroula, and all the rest, were so helpful and attentive. We stayed in a villa with a pool, and it was clean and the views from our outside lounge area was amazing. Breakfast ala carte was very nice as we are not big fans of buffets. We will definitely be back as we already miss swimming in the beautiful sea!"

"I recently spent a week in one of these studios. It was very clean and well equipped. It had great, fast WiFi, and the bed was super comfortable too! I was very pleased with the welcome gifts of fruit and sweets. The owner, Eleni was great at communicating and letting me know about entry as I had a very late arrival time, and it was lovely to meet her a couple of days after my arrival. The location of the studios was great, close to the seafront and village centre, with shops and cafes nearby. It was great value for money accommodation, which I would recommend."

"We’ve just arrived home after a 10 night stay at Akti Olous, and we had a lovely stay. The hotel is in a great position, right on the coast. There is a beach for people station in the hotel as well as members of the public. There are also a tonne of great restaurants that are all walking distance, and there is a supermarket literally 1 minute walk away. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast was great, loads of choice (cold meats/cheeses, pastries, hot options). The hotel is lovely, super clean in all areas and staff are so helpful. We did feel a little short changed with our room - it was really really small, and a little outdated. When booking, I was given the option to choose a sea view or standard room - we didn’t upgrade so went with the standard room. When we checked in, we’d been allocated a garden view room - except the view was of a residential garden. It did mean it limited our use of the balcony slightly as we felt like we were intruding on the residents garden. I would also recommend booking a late check out if possible - we used the courtesy room and it was not in a great state. Would’ve rather paid the extra money to keep our room."

"This is not a 4 star hotel - it's 3 at a push. The positive points are that it's extremely well situated in Elounda which is a lovely place for a chilled quiet week in the sun with plenty of bars and restaurants (although absolutely no nightlife if you want to go out for a dance). The staff are helpful and friendly, our room was spacious with a sea view. However my advice is don't go half board here as the food isn't great - breakfast was just passable, Dinner was awful.... we ended up eating out every night so we felt that we'd wasted money going Half Board. Pool is lovely but very tired, we both got splinters from the decking as it's breaking up.. the pool itself needs a good clean - there's a green around the water beds... On a plus note - Nico the barman is a sweetheart - always smiling and helpful. This hotel needs some money spent on it's maintenance.... It's fine - just don't expect 4 star."

"We booked a return visit to this superb Hotel and found it to be even better than our stay 9 years ago. There were minor issues caused by the age of the property but anything reported to Reception was dealt with promptly and efficiently. All the staff without exception were friendly and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble! We ate in three nights and found the meals excellent. Breakfast offering was superb with every taste catered for. Our suite was perfect for us with a large open area, totally private pool and a view to die for. We would certainly recommend and will be coming back."

"We stayed here for 4 nights. I had booked a sea view room, but they said it was upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi. While the jacuzzi was nice and relaxing, the sea view was quite limited, which was a bit disappointing. The property is located in a remote and peaceful part of the island. It has excellent internet access and a decent outdoor gym. Since it is right by the sea, you can enjoy walking or running along the coast to the nearest town, Mavrikianon. One important thing to mention is that the property does not have direct access to the sea. To swim, you need to go to either Plaka Beach, which requires a minimum spend of €40 per person to use the sunbeds, or to Mavrikianon Beach, which is much more affordable at €5 per person for the entire day. Mavrikianon Beach is very pleasant and close to markets where you can buy drinks. There are also some good food and drink spots nearby, such as Rudi’s Bar, a British-style pub, and Porto Rino, which serves great pizzas. Make sure to skip Nico’s Fish Tavern and try the Ferryman instead — you won’t regret it. What we found most frustrating was the lack of mosquito screens on the windows. Sleeping with the windows open was not really an option, even though the natural breeze was wonderful. Our room had air conditioning, but we tend to get sick sleeping with it on. There was a ceiling fan as well, but it is a shame to miss out on the fresh air simply because of a missing screen. The breakfast was also a disappointment. There were very few options, the coffee was not good, and the omelettes were overcooked. The most inconvenient part of our stay was the parking system. You have to check in and out with security every time, which felt excessive and time-consuming. It gave the impression of entering a high-security zone, not a relaxing holiday resort. Overall, it was a good experience with some nice features, but for the price, it lacks comfort and convenience in a few key areas. ."

"10 day stay, got there in early hours met by chap named Alex, sat us down which we found strange? Had a big book out and other pre-filled documents, i.e. Room tax form, asked us to email Jet 2 hotel form to the hotel? Why I have no clue? All took time , it's late we are tired, can it not be done in the morning? Anyway we got to bed eventually, room was no107 right on top of pool and close to bar area, fairly basic smallish room with large comfortable double bed which took up most of the space, bathroom was good, shower great, room cleaned everyday, never cooked as we were b&b , has a toaster hob and fridge minimal utensils. First morning we went down for breakfast, only one other couple there, waited 35 mins for cooked full breakfast half of it cold other half was hot , tbf we didn't wait long on the rest of the days, but the quality wasn't consistent, sometimes good sometimes not. Found the prices at the bar were a little steep, certainly compared to neighbouring ones, when I did mention this to one of the chaps there it didn't go down well, but small 20cl Prosecco 12 euros??? Come on now? Seems to be chap named Nikos and lady Evelyn, I think? In the morning, and Alex did afternoon/evening, they are all friendly and speak good English, the pool area is very good with excellent comfy sunbeds and umbrellas, the sea front right outside which we had a few dips in it was ace! Lots of nice restaurants on the strip into main Elounda which is 10/15 mins stroll. The Alikes is in a really good spot but go self catering and try the other places for Brekkie. Also lastly there's the extras! 10 nights air con a whopping 96Euro! Safe 21 Euro , Room Tax 15 Euro, and late room checkout 40 Euro, total of 172 , in many years of coming to Greece easily one of the most expensive place we've stayed. Summing up there seemed to be guests there who have been before, would we go back? No."

"We have just returned from an 11 night stay at Elounda Bay. It was our second visit following our initial stay at the same time in 2025. That alone demonstrates how much we love the place; having never previously returned to the same resort twice. So this is our second review. Firstly, we definitely were not disappointed we decided to return. The return visit was equally magical and we didn’t want to leave! To avoid repeating my first review I will summarise our highlights:- 1. The situation and landscaping is stunning. All walks within the complex are a joy. The gardeners obviously work very hard in a hot environment. The little “village square” by the church is utterly charming, and they have a delightful Greek night there which is not really advertised but check it out. 2. Sunbathing; the pool staff are incredible, particularly the more senior chap (sorry dont know his name) who couldn’t be more helpful always greeting us with a wonderful smile. We never had an issue locating a lovely place to relax. The pool at the sister hotel (beach) was much quieter than the one in bay and very serene. 3. Cleanliness; the grounds are spotless and our rooms were cleaned frequently and well. I noted another reviewer commented on plastic in the sea. I’m afraid that’s a worldwide society issue and no fault of the hotel. I spotted staff dealing with that promptly, and generally the hotel beaches were immaculate. As for potential room for improvement these are minor but nevertheless:- 1. Buffet; the quality of the food is very good. I mentioned this in my last review - the buffet area has a layout that is basic and a bit canteeny. It does not mirror the hard work the cooks obviously invest in the food. It would in my view be so easy to make the area more appealing with simple decorative items. 2. Entertainment; we don’t expect loud tacky entertainment but they do have a rather odd approach. There is a wonderful piano player who sometimes plays in the restaurant area but was often placed in the bar area outside the restaurant (where nobody drinks) so she was playing to herself. 3. Some of the additional restaurants have occasional singers (nice and low key) but only dinners (often very few) get to enjoy that - you are not encouraged to join for a late drink. I say this because the bars are often incredibly quiet so can lack atmosphere which is frustrating because the situation of both bars is out of this world - particularly the one by the jetty. In summary this is a truly wonderful hotel, we have been to others in Greece which are more expensive but this is a very very special place and we adore it."
