📍 Rue de la Jastrée 31, Durbuy

"3rd stay in this wonderful complex and still more than delighted! Quietly located hotel with an exceptional view of a very large park, spacious room, incredibly clean and very well equipped. Ample free parking. Very nice decor. An extremely clean wellness area: sauna, hammam, swimming pool, fresh water dispenser, bathrobe available. Meals: Breakfast: excellent buffet (scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, fresh fruit salad, bread, pastries, salmon, ham, cheeses, etc.). Champagne on January 1st. The meal of the 1st evening: a fantastic menu ranging from aperitifs (surprising and very well served with and without alcohol) to dessert: we really enjoyed ourselves! We were lucky enough to spend New Year's Eve on December 31: a caring team with, to start with bubbles, an exceptional menu from all starters to dessert including a surprising Norman hole. The lobster with its tarragon sauce: worthy of a starred restaurant was my favorite! With the added bonus of a magnificent fireworks display on this large terrace. An extraordinary atmosphere for the dance evening thanks to all the extraordinary staff. A rating of 5/5 for the staff is not enough: a warm and pleasant welcome, a service worthy of a starred restaurant with smiling, pleasant, attentive and attentive people for young and old alike, full of humor with a little word for everyone, attentive, ready to respond to all customer requests (thanks for everything). They knew how to create a crazy atmosphere! They managed the stay from start to finish with the same smile. A big thank you to all of you, you are exceptional (Emilie, Léa, Mélissa, Rose, Kathy, Xavier, Cédric, chef and I have certainly forgotten some): you are a great team! To be done again of course!!"

"Best, All was fine, but ..... Sunday 4/1 go to dinner with 4 people in the Brusserie as every year. We chose for 3 small mini shoes, as always the minimum, which were all excellent, absolute top, So we chose a extra dish for everyone. Unfortunately, the master told me the kitchen was already closed. The captain told me the crew had worked hard for two weeks and this last day. Please pick the dessert quickly, because the cook likes to go home quickly after these 2 intense weeks. We have heard this, though in a very friendly tone, but this really cannot! I told you that it would be more customer friendly to go along the tables and ask if we wanted a further mini-dining. Simple and no disappointment. I'm sorry, because I've never seen this at this high level of restaurant. I doubt strongly whether top cook/ food magician 😀 Wout Bru will find this OK. With friendly greetings, Alexis Longhé"

Hotel la Librairie ★★

📍 Rue du Comte Théodule d'Ursel 20, Durbuy

"This is obviously not the five-star experience of the (expensive) hotel next door, but if you’re looking for a perfectly located hotel (50m from the Place aux Foires), with free car parking space (behind the hotel) and convenient rooms, just don’t look any further! The hotel is located above a bookshop (reception desk can be found in the shop, rooms are accessible by a separate door once checked in) and run by a friendly, hard-working family. In summer, breakfast can be taken from the terrace overlooking the Ourthe river. For the less mobile hosts: please note that the hotel has no elevator. Conclusion: this was a great choice for our long weekend in Durbuy. Highly recommended."

"We went with our kids at a time when the place was basically empty. In spite of that, the staff was wonderful. We chose the hotel because of the location. It's right around the corner from the Adventure Valley and from Durbuy. It is in a great area for seeing castles, caves, and rural Belgium. The breakfasts were absolutely great. Far beyond our expectations. And when we chose to eat at the hotel in the evening, the food was just incredible. To set expectations, the property is a little older and it shows. It's going to come off like an older but very workable AirBnB. There are going to be some blemishes and signs of age. But the rooms are clean. The linens are clean. Things work. The WIFI works. And the location cannot be beat. If your goal is to see and experience things in the Durbuy area, it would be hard to stay somewhere better."

"The room was very comfortable and the room was very dark 🍅 There was a very dark room with no much outside light compared to the other 3 rooms. We were 7. The breakfast is not warm enough coffee, mini pistols and mini chocolate bread .. . freezes , a little charcuteries, confectionery, cheese triangle to bake .... we were a little disappointed otherwise everything is okay."

Azur en Ardenne ★★★★
"We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The welcome was very friendly, simple and quick. The staff directly put us at ease (whether in the restaurant for dinner, breakfast, room or reception staff), they adapt to the age of the customer and their expectations. Our room (superior) was spacious and very clean! The bathroom with pleasant shower. The room had an electric kettle with paper cups provided, a mini fridge to store our drinks, a luggage drop-off and a small wardrobe. The hotel does not offer room service or a mini-bar, but in the large reception hall there is a bar with comfortable lounges, offering aperitif plates and a large drinks menu. The breakfast buffet included in our reservation was varied (savory, sweet, hot and cold) and with good quality products (yogurt, fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, cakes, pastries, cereals, cheeses and cold meats...). Bathrobes were provided to us so that we could go to the hotel's Wellness area (bath slippers not included). This one is not very big but pleasant and accessible until 10 p.m., enough to be able to enjoy it several times during the day. Inside: hydromassage table (at extra cost but definitely worth the cost!), sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, indoor swimming pool with lukewarm water. In short, perfect value for money. This is the first time I've said it for an establishment of this type: I will most certainly return there."

"We had lunch at L’orangerie of this hotel. Unfortunately: avoid this nice looking place ! We expected to have a decent lunch based on how the place looked from the outside. It turned out to be a total disaster: the service proved to be astonishingly bad and the food/drinks totally overpriced. That an order doesn’t come through or the wrong dish or drink is being brought to the table can happen. But while we were there it happened to the table behind us, two other tables in the room and our table. That could perhaps be a funny situation if there is good service but the waitress with the tight bun and the big glasses was more the waitress from hell. We were treated as if we had done something to her instead of the other way around. She refused to speak English or made no effort at all to understand our attempt to speak French (the menu of this fancy hotel is in three languages!) and even without words the problem was crystal clear: one of us got his main but the other got nothing. The table behind us had a similar problem and was treated even worse. It was a total train wreck. Prices are insane: a simple example: The Langhe Nebiolo that was on the menu per glass (12 euro) was unavailable, there was just a simple Gamay but we were charged the same whooping 12 euro per glass. We checked: the whole bottle can be bought for 16 euro online. If you pour approximately 6 to 7 glasses out of a bottle they make an easy 60 to 70 euro profit on mediocre wine. Yes it was an experience at this Orangerie but far from a good one … run!"
