📍 Lower Dens Mill, Constable St, Dundee

"The room was great. The staff were nice and polite, although not always able to help. For an entire evening, nobody answered calls to reception, which was a bit surprising. There were also no hotel slippers, and when we asked, no alternatives were offered. That said, we did enjoy the food. Dinner at the hotel was very nice. At breakfast, items were not always refilled if you arrived later in the morning, but overall it wasn’t bad. I would say it’s a nice hotel, and if I’m ever back in Dundee, I would stay there again. That said, there is definitely room for improvement."

Hampton by Hilton Dundee City Centre ★★★

📍 1 Argyllgait, Dundee

"I have few friends in Dundee. Mostly a day trip to see them. Occasionally staying over in Dundee city centre. But I have never stayed in this place before. The room I was given was very spacious with a panoramic town and River Tay view. Everything was so clean, large bathroom, comfortable bed. I have a morning routine of stretch exercise. Sometimes I cannot do that when I am staying in small hotel room. But Double Tree's room was big enough for me to enjoy morning stretch. Complimentary buffet breakfast was great. There is a pancake maker in the breakfast room. And not one, two pancake makers! Never seen anything like it at buffet breakfast setting. I made one for myself. Never used the maker before so the finishing pancake was not perfect but I enjoyed it. Staff were all friendly and attentive. I had a very good stay. I highly recommend this hotel."

Dundee Backpackers Hostel

Dundee Backpackers Hostel ★★

📍 71 High St, Dundee

"Outstanding location. Interesting building, very clean comfortable and warm. Plenty of facilities such as kitchen with everything you could reasonably expect free tea and coffee. Cooker, toaster, fridges, microwave kettle. Tv Room, library, dining room. A rare occasion where accommodation exceeds expectation, seemed to me mainly quieter walker and cycling types or similar which suits me absolutely fine not a party scene. I was working briefly nearby so absolutely ideal."

"I had a very pleasant stay at The Landmark Hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet, making it easy to relax and get a good night's sleep. The lighting was excellent, creating a comfortable atmosphere for both working and unwinding. The coffee was served hot and was a great way to start the day. I also appreciated the spacious eating area, which was clean, comfortable, and never felt crowded. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would be happy to stay here again."

Travelodge Dundee Strathmore Avenue Hotels in Dundee

Travelodge Dundee Strathmore Avenue

"On arrival the hotel looked very rundown. I had booked 2 rooms, one accessible for my mum in law. At reception the girl took my name etc.. then gave us key for ONE room. I said Id booked two ?..turns out that when you name the person in the other room that comes up as a separate booking! After all was sorted we were shown where to go for the accessible room. Well, it looked like we were walking through a cupboard door - no signage. Came to the room - entered - and it was full of other peoples things! Luckily there was no-one actually there!! Went back to reception and the woman came and looked. Very puzzled as computer said the room was free. Anyway, got another room. Well - where to start! Bearing in mind this is meant to accommodate a wheelchair user... on opening the door you are immediately met with the end of the bed. It took 2 of us to get in the door reversing wheelchair...one to push, one to try and hold the door open. Walked straight back past the bed and that led to a small amount of floor space - enough to turn her chair. Looking around this room took basic to the limit! No bedside units so had to use her chair to put her night things on. No shelves for clothes - just a tiny bar with a few hangers, so we put her clothes onto the spare side of the bed. Very small window quite high up. and dont expect to find a socket anywhere useful! The bed was firm but extremely low! It had been placed in front of the emergency call button! On that note we are usually asked about how much support/assistance would be required if there was an emergency - but not here!!. Now the bathroom... it was huge! Walk in shower, rails and room to move. Only fault would be that toilet seat isnt raised. My mum in law had her rollator with her for getting from bed to toilet, but because of the toilet door opening outwards at the very end of her bed, she had to walk backwards opening the door till she had enough room to get around the bed! Then, enter toilet, turn and pull the door closed. All in all a very poorly designed room. Anyone travelling alone that has mobility issues ,they would never manage to negotiate the room. My own room was ok...just once again, probably the most basic Travelodge weve ever been in. Badly in need of an overhaul. Wont be going back."

"West facing room, view over the V&A museum. Room was immaculate, with tea/coffee station. We had a swim in the pool which is lovely too. Staff very friendly. Kindly gave us some toothbrushes as we forgot. Will definitely be back. We didn't opt for breakfast as it seemed a bit expensive. The room toiletries smelled amazing."

Dundee Backpackers Hostel ★★
"We stayed in a private, double room, sharing bathroom facilities. The room was clean and spacious, with a comfy bed and a working radiator we were able to adjust. There was no TV, but good WiFi in the room. There are lots of bathrooms in the building, so that was not a problem either, and they were always clean and well-stocked with loo roll. The location is excellent - in Dundee centre, and we had a view looking on to the high street. It's in walking distance from the bus and train station. The only annoying thing was the kitchen: there were always 3 or 4 people in there, whatever time we went in, and almost always people who live and work at the hostel, rather than guests. This meant they were cooking 'proper meals', rather than simple stuff you'd expect from backpackers or travellers. It also meant we had to wash our pans etc before we ate, in case someone needed them in the meantime. They were international students or older people. It would be better if staff had their own kitchen, as the kitchen isn't big - there's one kettle, one microwave, one toaster. There are two ovens and two cookers, with four hobs each. There are signs up about washing, drying and putting stuff away, but wooden spoons don't 'dry' with a tea towel, so they are damp in the drawers. If they cannot make a separate kitchen for staff, I'd suggest adding some simple appliances to one of the many sitting rooms, such as a kettle, toaster and microwave, so at least you could grab breakfast quickly without awkwardly working around everyone in the kitchen."

"A really lovely place to stay while discovering Dundee. A marvellous place which is close to the railway station and the Seagate bus station, just a 4-6 mins walk. The room was good enough with all essential facilities to stay and was huge and comfortable for a great relax. The staffs are kind and friendly to foreigners, which made me felt of being welcomed."
