"We had our 15th stay at Rosemont Inn this August. Obviously, we love the place, and often come with family. The owners Kerry and Tammy are very fine people, prepare a gourmet breakfast with lot's of extras, and keep the resort very clean and smoothly functioning. The pool is warm and pleasant. The location is excellent--just across from the Douglas Beach. Driving anywhere is easy, short, and most pleasant--lot's of woods, gardens, etc. We see deer everyday, sometimes from the back yard. The locals are not deer fans, since the deer can eat bushes, flowers, etc--but to visitors, they're a special treat. One day we saw 21 deer. Also, the grey squirrels have a melanotic subset ( black all over), and we see them daily. The whole area of Douglas and Saugatuck are excellent. Many good restaurants, quaint shops, people-watching, art galleries; and the river is busy with private boats. Also, there are some nearby good hiking trails, up in the dunes, and also along Lakeshore Drive, from the front yard of the Inn. The location is about 5+ hours from central Illinois, so is much more convenient than the also-beautiful areas far north of Saugatuck. We'll certainly be back next year, health allowing. Try it--you won't be disappointed."
