"Our stay at La Residencia almost didn't happen. A rough experience at another hotel sent us scrambling for a last-minute change to La Residencia, and looking back, it was the best thing that happened on our trip to Mallorca. It turned into one of those stays you find yourself talking about long after you’ve come home. We arrived at La Residencia at 10 p.m. hoping they had a room and ended up getting the last junior suite available. By the next morning, it somehow felt like the entire hotel staff knew us like family. Staff didn't just greet us by name, they remembered the things we liked to eat and planned around it without us having to ask. Housekeeping noticed how we were utilizing the room and made changes to accommodate that. The tailored approach shows how seriously they take hospitality. The property itself is gorgeous and sits beautifully in keeping with the character of Deià. It's peaceful, it's romantic, and captures the spirit of Mallorca. The world slows down around you and you enjoy every moment. It’s a wonderful feeling and the epitome of ‘slow travel’. Breakfast is amazing and dinner at El Olivo was the best meal of our 7-day trip to Mallorca. Between the sunset landscape from the roof terrace, the food, and the wine pairing, El Olivo is possibly the most romantic dinner setting we have ever experienced. Complimentary experiences at La Residencia don’t feel like a filler; they are things you actually want to do (e.g. cooking class, cava tasting, olive oil tasting) Mark and Ruben, the concierges were incredibly helpful. Ava made breakfast something we looked forward to each morning. Antonio and Alberto at the front desk were a pleasure every time we crossed paths, and Juan, who drove us around, made every trip feel easy. Credit must go to Thomas Moon, the general manager, for building a team this warm and consistent. We arrived at La Residencia by accident. Now, it is the reason we will return to Mallorca."
