Dakhla Club Hotel

"I am writing this review not because of the final decision itself, but because of the way the hotel handled the situation. I booked two rooms: one for myself and one for my kitesurfing coach. Unfortunately, due to visa processing delays, my coach was unable to obtain his visa in time. About a week before our scheduled arrival, I contacted the hotel and explained the situation, hoping they would show some understanding and help find a reasonable solution. From the very beginning, communication was extremely disappointing. Phone calls went unanswered, and email responses often took one to two days. Each time I followed up, I was told that the matter was being reviewed or that management was awaiting internal approval. What frustrated me most was that this process continued for almost seven days. I repeatedly made it clear that I was open to discussing any possible alternatives, compromises, or solutions. I was not demanding a specific outcome; I was simply asking the hotel to work with me and explore what options might be available. After keeping me waiting for an entire week, the hotel finally responded that no changes were possible under the terms and conditions of the reservation. The issue is not that they ultimately said "no." The issue is that they spent a week delaying a clear answer while providing little meaningful communication and showing no apparent willingness to look for a practical solution. If the answer was always going to be no, it could have been communicated much earlier. What makes this even more disappointing is that I chose this hotel based on recommendations from fellow kitesurfers and members of the local community. Those recommendations created expectations of hospitality, flexibility, and customer care that were simply not met. As a frequent traveler and a *********** Genius Level 3 member, I understand that hotels have policies and that exceptions cannot always be granted. However, the best hotels distinguish themselves by their willingness to communicate promptly, treat guests with empathy, and actively look for solutions when unexpected situations arise. Unfortunately, this experience demonstrated none of those qualities. I left with the impression of a management team that was inflexible, slow to communicate, and unwilling to make a genuine effort to help a guest facing an unforeseen problem. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel from a customer service perspective."

"This place has a great vibe! It’s my second stay here and I would definitely come again. Staff very helpful and friendly. The bungalow chalets are great and very close to the water sport centre. On this trip I was kite surfing and also learning how to wing foil. Rasheed was my instructor and he did a great job trying to get me onto the foil, lots of tips and very patient."

"Good value for money, with an interesting view of the lagoon. The spot is well located with easy and direct access to the water. The only downside is the lack of help carrying gear. Despite this, I would return one day, but not as a couple, just on a solo trip."
