Yaas Hotel Dakar Almadies ★★★
"Very cool hotel"
Résidence Madior
"Short stay for hospital visit staff very helpful as my husband could not walk good due to back injury they helped order food etc lovely and clean would stay again"
Axil HÔTEL ★★★★
"Very good, very good"
Ibis Styles Dakar ★★★
"A few days prior to my stay, I sent an email enquiring about airport transfers as my flight would arrive in the middle of the night. No reply. On my day of arrival, after having organized the transfer myself, I called the hotel to let them know I will be coming very late, and they did pick up the phone and spoke English. (And they finally replied to my email after I had checked in and stayed one night, only to let me know they do not organize transfers and referred me to Hertz...) The receptionists speak English and seem reasonably friendly. Check-in was quick, check-out not so. The room was very bare bones, cramped and ascetic, with a rather strong, musty smell hanging around. The floor was made of hard plastic and was filthy, don't wear white socks! There was no luggage rack, probably because there simply is no room for one. There was, however, a desk and chair, a safe and a bed that's great for one person but would be incredibly narrow for two. The pillows were worn out and lumpy. For a hotel built in 2011, I would expect power outlets by the bed, but that was not the case here. No fridge. A/C worked well enough for December, but won't probably be too helpful in summer. Wifi was free and unlimited, but spotty and slow. Don't plan on teleconferencing here. A 0.5 L water bottle was provided and replenished daily. The bathroom came with no bars of soap or shampoo. There was a wall-mounted liquid soap container on the wall, similar to the ones you can find in public toilets. It said, "hair, body and face wash". I guess you could wash your dog, clothes and car with it, too. There was a bath mat and two bath towels, no hand towels provided. Water in the handheld shower was warm and pressure was okay. The carpets in the hallways were in desparate need of deep cleaning. Buffet breakfast was served in the lobby from 6:30 to 10 and cost a reasonable 8000 CFA. It was your usual affair: nothing to get excited about, but it will give you a good start of the day. Some hot and cold items, juices, yoghurt. The fresh fruit was nice and the croissants excellent. The same compound has a Novotel hotel right next door, and their informal restaurant on the ground floor serves lunch and dinner. There is a buffet (dinner 17 000 CFA) as well as à la carte, including the famous chicken yassa. The pool is shared by the Novotel and the Ibis. While their homepage claims it is heated, this was not the case, and in December, nights are cool so the water was a bit cold, but bearable. It was open from 9 am to 7 pm. The pool attendant was a grumpy old man who wanted your room number but didn't understand English, not even numbers. Pool towels were left to dry in the sun and then reused without washing, which is absolutely disgusting. I suspected it at first and then got proof by seeing the attendant simply place used towels to dry on furniture on the pool deck, folding them nicely afterwards. And then checked my towel to see that it was both filthy and smelly. Wow. Th"
Courtyard By Marriott Dakar Diamniadio ★★★★
"Good hotel for business trips to Dakar. Close to the airport. 30 minutes from the city center. Good quality buffet restaurant. Very friendly staff. The hotel opened in 2024, so it's in excellent condition. A good option for work, without a doubt."
International Hotel Dakar ★★★★
"Everything is good"
Kadiss Hotel
"Incredibly nice staff, breakfast not really good, room super nice."
Terrou-Bi ★★★★★
"Best hotel in Dakar!!"
Dakar International House ★★
"Cheapest room without windows, a bit dark. Cleanliness was adequate, but only one bathroom, sometimes with a wait... The beautiful rooftop terrace, furnished with numerous plants and murals, is the major plus."

Villa Malaka
"The homely environment, very helpful staff, very clean rooms and great food were amazing. I really enjoyed my stay at Villa Malaka. The beautiful decor makes the rooms beautiful and relaxing. I highly recommend it to visitors to Dakar who prefer a homely place for their visit."
Pullman Dakar Teranga
"The hotel is relatively safe and the swimming pool is very good"
Hotel Jardin Savana Dakar
"This place is characterized by the lack of professionalism, rudeness, and arrogance of all the staff, especially the manager, who, instead of solving our problems, attacked us. We wanted to spend a relaxing day by the pool, so we ran away, frightened by the rudeness and aggression of the manager and the waiters. Absolutely avoid it!!!"
La Madrague-Surf Beach Sea
"La Madrague is a medium sized hotel right on the beach in Ngor. Our room was comfortable, clean, and had a nice balcony overlooking the pool and beach. We liked sitting out there watching the busyness of the beach below! The shower was great and the bed was comfortable. There is a restaurant and bar, plus a seating area along the beach. The food at the restaurant was marginal and the service was hit or miss. Those are two areas the hotel could work on. Other than that, the hotel is a good place to stay."
Villa Jade
"The hotel staff were friendly, and the facilities matched the pictures on the website. Because it wasn't right next to a main street, it was very quiet at night. I didn't see any large restaurants nearby. Just as dawn was breaking, I heard the crisp clatter of horses' hooves passing by downstairs. There are horse-drawn carriages here, usually small ones pulled by a single horse for people or goods. Later, I also saw a small carriage pulled side-by-side by four horses of different sizes and heights. Because the horses' different gaits make it really difficult to drive! Turning right from the hotel entrance, there's a beautiful residential area nestled among the vegetation, with clean new cars parked in front. There are also some unfinished buildings and construction debris nearby, but overall it's quite nice. The foreign exchange shops marked on Google Maps nearby are all incorrect; you must ask locals, even though the exchange rate isn't great, it's better than nothing."
ONOMO Hotel Dakar
"Good value for money"
La Résidence
"A truly wonderful accommodation experience! The environment and facilities were excellent, and the staff were incredibly helpful, attentive, and patient. There was also an adorable big cat! From check-in, Mr. Doudou was a huge help, reminding me of important things to be aware of, which is crucial for anyone visiting Senegal or even Africa for the first time! I also broke the customs lock on my suitcase, and the receptionist quickly resolved the issue. The security staff were also very responsible and helpful; I'm very grateful for their assistance. The hotel facilities were very comfortable; simply relaxing by the pool was pure bliss. Overall, it was an absolutely perfect experience, and I'm so grateful to have met such patient friends on my first trip to Africa. However, the Wi-Fi in the poolside rooms wasn't very good."
J Pad
King Fahd Palace
"Upon arrival one is met with a barricaded entrance and security people who yell at you that you must walk from the car park area. Doesn't matter how much luggage you have, the entrance cannot be entered and you must walk from the car park. By the way, the car park is dark and possibly not safe. When I asked at reception why they do this - it's for "security"... ??? Check in was as if they had never done it before. Rooms are OK, but coffee and water are not replenished. Toilet leaked. Food left me deathly ill. Meeting facilities are miles away. Gym is mostly closed - at least at times like early morning when someone would want to use it. Restaurant service was reasonably friendly but food was bad. Breakfast was completely inedible. No signage, so no idea how to get around the place. Banquet room had very little a/c. Overall the place and the staff are old and tired and clearly the management looks only at the cost and does nothing with customers or service in mind. It's a great location, but would need to be torn down and rebuilt and re-staffed before I'd consider staying again."
La Résidence Sea Plaza
Casa Mara Dakar
"Liked · Oasis from Dakar in general. We were forced by cancelled flights to stay here another 2 nights, and were lucky enough to get a room. Great staff, always helping us. Breakfast was especially good. We like the room, really liked the bathroom. Rooftop restaraunt was great, food was good, the place had atmosphere also. Disliked · Nothing. Location was a bit meh, but no big deal"
AfricaWorks Suites
Hotel Lagon 2
"The hotel offers almost no services and has no pool. There's only a small restaurant. The price is expensive for what it offers, and it's far too old. It urgently needs renovation. The only positive aspects are the location and the friendliness of the staff."
Boma LifeStyle Hotel
"A nice spot of paradise among the chaos of dakars hustle and bustle. Amongst the higher end experiences price wise it is somewhere worth visiting alone for the comfort and accommodation of the team at Boma lifestyle hotel and attached YouYou restaurant. Fantastic atmosphere on weekends which are great for a cocktail as well as great food options that accommodate somewhat towards a European pallet for those not looking to stray to far from home. My girlfriend who is from cameroon recommends the Mafe for more traditional flavours where, I had the Yassa Poulet which would suit many visitors with is rich onion base. For those looking for a comforting European touch any of the pizza options will suit alongside a cold pint of gazelle. Utilise this hotel as a resting place to visit such sites as Ngor, goree island, the African renaissance monument, the pink lake, sandaga, and nearby visit the surfers paradise at hotel virag for some chilled entertainment of local and foreign surfers alike. For a nice meal that touches several west and central African pallets head to maison B. Exceptional hospitality alongside fantastic food, cocktails and shisha all at an affordable budget. For pastries head to Graines d'or a five minute walk from the hotel. And also head to happy Happy Hour & Degustation across from Jgo and maison B and see what cameroonian meals are on offer alongside some drinks an socialising with their owner. The petrol station next door provides a variety of snacks and beverages including cheap alcohol and a cash machine."
Le Lodge des Almadies
"A group of students from Chicago stayed here on their first visit to Senegal. They loved the beds, air-conditioning, kind staff, and the location. We were so busy we didn't have time to enjoy the clean pool in the courtyard area. There is also a charming gift shop with locally made artisan products."
