"Light trance music at the beach; impeccable service; outstanding food. Go here if you need to unplug from whatever you are plugged into; this place is an oasis. Even the non-ocean view rooms have balconies with ocean views. The breakfast buffet is scrumptious European food, and the restaurant is the place to go for dinner and lunch... really no reason to shop around price or quality wise. The service is low key; the rooms are very modern; modern A/C system; and a relaxed vibe. So go to the beach; order some drinks; listen to the relaxing, tasteful, low music, and just relax. People mention a club next door in the reviews, but I had no problems with noise. I recommend avoiding the peak season when schools are on vacation... almost at all costs, because Mamaia gears up with thousands of beach chairs and mega stages, subwoofers, etc... for some sort of college spring break thing that lasts a couple of months. So if you go anywhere in Mamaia during peak season, prepare to be blasted with music."

"Hotel Central is located in the center of the seaside resort of Mamaia only a few meters from the beach and is a typical communist-era seaside hotel that has been renovated and upgraded in recent years The hotel can offer a pleasant garden, private swimming pool, bar and restaurant. All rooms have a balcony and there is a well-functioning free wireless network in the hotel. On arrival, it took some time to get in touch with the employee at the reception to check in and I missed some smiles and commitment to me as a guest. The same also applied when checking out and for other inquiries to reception. This lack of service is something that is most likely left over from the communist era and which has still not improved much despite other changes in society. The guest room was simply furnished, but in addition to the beds, had a fridge, desk and well-functioning air conditioning. The balcony was equipped with two chairs and a table. However, I missed a small drying rack to dry clothes. The beds were in good condition and had clean linen. The cleanliness was otherwise very good and the room was cleaned every day. The bathroom was simply furnished with a shower, toilet and sink, but appeared to be clean and well maintained. The towels were clean and in good condition. Breakfast was served as a buffet and had a good selection of both hot and cold dishes, including fried eggs, scrambled eggs and boiled eggs. The buffet was regularly replenished and there were no empty serving platters. The selection on the buffet was good, but still far from the standard of the breakfast buffets served in Scandinavia and Germany. It was possible to eat breakfast outside. The hotel's swimming pool was open from 0900-1800 and included a small pool, deckchairs and parasols, lifeguard and toilet facilities. The pool area was clean and in good condition and it was observed that the employees regularly took samples of the water quality, which was perceived as positive. The staff at the pool area were cheerful and service minded. The hotel had a nice location, pleasant rooms and walking distance to most everything. There was something lacking in the service part of the staff, but in relation to the price I felt I got good value for money. NB! They charges me 60 EUR to wash a few t-shirts and shorts. "

"The hotel is very close to the beach, museums and the old city center, in a very good location. The room was spacious and beautiful looking. The cleaning personnel was coming daily to clean and refill the bathroom with toiletries if necessary. Also, the breakfast was varied and tasty. The kitchen staff was very helpful and friendly."

"Apartment units were roomy and comfortable. My friends and I each got a room. Theirs had a balcony but mine did not. The rooms were clean and everything worked well. This was the only place I stayed at which required a signature on a contract listing a bunch of things they did not want you to do while staying there. But I imagine most people will actually like those restrictions. They have an on-site cinema that shows 2 films per day. They also have a restaurant with delicious food but terrible service. We ate there 3 times and they got our order wrong all 3 times. Unreal. Also, the location isn't in a convenient area if you enjoy walking. But overall, Mava Apartamente provides a comfortable accommodation at a great value."
