"Average hotel which sometimes can meet your needs perfectly. In my case, I didn't even plan to stay in Comillas. However, my feet started bleeding after the fourth day of trail running. I needed some respite altogether with some others from our group. So we stopped in Comillas for a couple of days. I was happy the rooms were equipped with baths instead of shower cabins. That enabled me to partially heel the wounds, put on some tapes and darn tough with 1 size oversize boots and continue the running later to Pendueles. However the hotel other than its price did not really stun. Everything was average. The breakfast, too."

"Lovely hotel although we were allocated an apartment outside of the hotel itself which we did not like! Sylvia on reception handled it very well and changed it for a room inside. Very traditional Spanish but tastefully done. There is a bar but no restaurant although you can get pastries in the mornings. No refreshments in the room unfortunately hence 4 and not 5."

"Golf - but no Ryder Cup We were due to stay in this hotel for a golf break but our Agent moved us to a ‘boutique’ hotel closer to town. Being the Ryder Cup weekend and desperate to watch the final day we got a taxi to the Golf Hotel to watch the golf. When we arrived they didn’t have the golf on and the extremely unhelpful and rude waitress got the hand control to try and find a sports channel but didn’t try too hard! The receptionist was equally unhelpful so don’t book this hotel if you are under the impression that it’s for golfers / it isn’t!"

The cons are that we had to climb a little to get to the property however, it made up by the amazing views. No AC units, weather was nice, able to sleep with open windows, however in the summer may get very hot. In all, it was a great stay, hostesses were super nice, friendly an accommodating."

"Our one-night experience at Hotel Comillas was very good. It is an old hotel of almost 30 years old , or decorated so as to look , which does not prevent everything from being perfectly clean and ordered , both bathroom and room , and the comfort of the bed was perfect. "Very disappointing hotel… Does not deserve 4 stars. The rooms are nice, very clean and comfortable but we had to move rooms because a door in the partition let in all the noise from the neighbors in the room next door. In our move, we lost the view of the golf course… for a view of the parking lot. The next room was located above the hotel kitchens: smell of cooking in the bathroom from the first hours, then in the whole room as soon as the window was opened… We were told that the spa is chargeable while I read in the comments that it is free for customers who have booked the room on the internet… The day we left, we were told that breakfast is included while it is indicated that it costs €10 per person and €6 for children under 10 years old. On our bill, and while our child was clearly declared to be 8 years old, it is indicated €10… On the other hand, the buffet is very well stocked. The fitness room was also billed to us for 3 people, even though only my husband went. Maybe it is also included in the price of the room... But the bill is incomprehensible!!! I got a reduction of €22 on a total bill of almost €600... On the other hand, the reception staff is very friendly."
