"The 4 is because of the location, the hotel is small dated and no A/C. Lots of street noise with the windows open. Was happy to only stay a night. Wouldn’t have checked out early if we had more days planned in the area. Affordable but not very comfortable."

"It is about 15 minutes' drive from the Cliffs of Moher. This hotel is located on the seaside and can be labeled as a five-star hotel. The rooms are comfortable and poetic. The cream liquor provided is delicious. There are also free bottled water in the room. Slippers, pajamas and disposable consumables are all available. The restaurant and bar in the hotel have a great atmosphere. The morning at the seaside near the hotel is so beautiful. Breakfast is made to order and buffet, top-notch and rich breakfast! I would like to go there again if I have the chance."

"The Bay View Hotel was an absolute gem! I will say there were quite a few stairs to climb, but if you're unable to do stairs, I know that there is at least 1 room on the ground floor to the right of the check in area. Our room was absolutely fabulous-it was the Superior Family Room. We had 2 queen beds and 1 single bed. There were 4 chairs around a coffee table set in front of the TV, and a slanted window with a view of the water. There was also a fun pop up window. The bathroom was large, but the ceiling was slanted towards the back of the room - watch out tall people. The lighting in the bathroom wasn't very bright, but there was a mirror that lit up - so that helped a bit. I will say that there is no electrical outlet for a blow dryer in the bathroom, which seems to be the case in quite a few hotels in Europe. There was an outlet that was near enough to the large mirror in the main room, and I was able to use that. We stayed for 2 nights, and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast each morning. We also ate dinner in the restaurant both nights of our stay, and the food was wonderful. I really enjoyed the chicken curry. The staff was so helpful and friendly. I hope I get all the names right...Amadar, Asia and Jarred were so wonderful, and they really made our stay so pleasant. The owner, Mary, stopped by our table during dinner to see if we were enjoying our meal. I would definitely go back to the Bay View Hotel if I ever make it back to Kilkee."

"It is a 15-minute drive from the center of Limerick. It is relatively quiet, with large rooms. It is a standard hotel, but it should be OK in Ireland. We arrived late and were given a triple room. The room was very large and had all the facilities we needed."

Bunratty Castle Hotel & Leisure Club, BW Premier Collection
"Visited this evening for my dad’s 60th birthday and, unfortunately, the experience was hugely disappointing. While the food was genuinely excellent, the service was among the worst we’ve experienced. Despite the restaurant being very quiet, drinks repeatedly took 15–20 minutes to arrive, starters were delayed, and I even had to collect drinks from the service station myself because nobody brought them over. We had to ask for fresh cutlery and steak knives after our mains arrived, and our side dishes came well after the steaks. To make matters worse, a waitress accidentally poured a bottle of Corona over one of our guests, our pre-arranged birthday cake was brought out with no candles at all, and one of two coffees we ordered was simply forgotten. At no point did anyone check on our table or ask if we needed anything, and a nearby table sat uncleared for over two hours. Paying €38 for a steak comes with an expectation of attentive service, and this fell far short. As locals, we’re especially disappointed because we wanted to support our local hotel and restaurant, but sadly we won’t be returning. A real shame, as the kitchen produced excellent food that deserved much better front-of-house service."
