"We had a balcony room overlooking the pool which definitely became the highlight of our trip. Just want to express how lovely the staff here were, especially Mehran who was a shining star! This hotel has so much potential but unfortunately was extremely dirty. Our sink was so dirty it made us wretch! The fridge was so neglected that I didn’t even want any of my bags near it. I didn’t feel comfortable asking for a clean up as I saw other families doing exactly this to staff and I felt bad for them as well as vulnerable in case it affected our 3 day stay there. Breakfast was made to order, which worked out fine as I wasn’t keen to eat here. It took a lot of effort to get to this destination as recommended by Lonely Planet, which has never failed us but the beaches here were so littered that we ended up feeling extremely low. People were purchasing foods/drinks from the shops & beach stall and chucking the rubbish on the beach and in the river in a way I’ve never seen before. Sorry if this feels so negative, just want to be honest for any other family considering. We realised why this place got so many 5* reviews, because at reception they have a pile of fresh coconuts, which you can get for free if you give a 5* review!!! I can imagine it would suit a surfing singleton who isn’t concerned about hygiene. We made the most of this place as much as we could after a good clean up ourselves. Didn’t touch the fridge!"
