Cheap Hotels in Murmansk

"There's a shopping mall to the left of the guesthouse, with fast food and a supermarket. There's also a supermarket in the yellow building to the right. Some rooms face the street, so cars pass by constantly at night, and even with the windows closed, there's some noise. Some rooms on the third floor are next to the public bathroom; if someone forgets to turn off the lights and exhaust fan, there will be noise. There's a small refrigerator in the room. There's a 24-hour front desk. The guesthouse doesn't have an elevator, but it's not on many floors. Breakfast is from 7-10 am, with some options. The staff are friendly and provide proof of stay upon check-out. Unfortunately, my visit was short, and I only caught a glimpse of the little black and white cat inside; it seemed a bit timid, which was a shame."

"An excellent hotel in the city center. The rooms are small, with options for rooms with private showers and shared bathrooms. We booked a room with a private shower but stayed in the shared one—it was very clean and pleasant. There's a large kitchenette, tea and coffee are available at all times, and you can store your groceries in the shared fridge. I recommend any room type."

"I booked a triple room and a double room at this hotel. Five people commented very well. Because Moore was transferred, it was a bit unexpected. The room was large and the heating was very good. "The room was decent – clean and tidy, and there was enough hot water. However, it lacked several basic amenities: no hairdryer, no bottled water, no screen door, no window screens, and no air conditioning. I'd strongly advise caution if you're planning a summer stay. The balcony was unkempt, and the walls were stained and peeling. What a shame!"

"Murman and Asgard are right next to each other. If you're traveling as a couple, I'd recommend Asgard. A lot of our compatriots stay at Murman, and it's easy to join a spontaneous group for aurora chasing there, which is great. However, because Murman has so many guests, there's no hot water for showering around 9 PM, and the heating in the rooms and common areas isn't as good as Asgard's. The one upside for Murman is that it has an elevator. Overall, Murman is a decent layover spot in the Arctic Circle."

"The hotel's location is a bit out of the way, right under a huge, tall chimney that's constantly belching white smoke—it must be a power plant. Opening the window immediately revealed a strong smell of gasoline exhaust or burning soot. When I booked, they probably only had the twin room left. The bed felt too narrow for a European build; I almost fell off several times in the middle of the night. It was freezing outside, but the room was warm thanks to wall-mounted heaters. The room was also very clean. The overall interior had a distinctly Scandinavian feel—simple and bright. The front desk staff changed daily, all handsome men and beautiful women 😁😁😁 and very friendly. Some didn't speak English well, but they helped me find addresses of popular restaurants and gave me directions, using translation apps to communicate. They were available 24 hours a day. The breakfast was different every day, but the all-Western style might not be very appealing to Chinese people. One look is enough to make you feel full 😁😁 But their main customers are probably over 99% locals, so it's hard to say anything. The hotel is quite nice; it would be a good choice for those who like or enjoy the Nordic style. However, personally, I think next time we might choose a chain or standardized hotel, which would better suit our preferences."
