"I have mixed feelings about my stay here. On the positive side, the meals and the Onsen were excellent, and I enjoyed my time overall. However, the check-in process was very unpleasant. I had booked a specific lake-side, western-style room in the East building, but I was provided a room with side view of the lake, rather than direct view that I expected. When I went to the front desk to resolve this, they offered to move me to the Central building (the older section) but insisted on charging me an extra fee. It was only after I presented my original booking confirmation and pushed back on their attempt to charge more for their own error that they agreed to move me to the Central building without the extra fee, claiming they were fully booked and could not provide the specific room I had paid for. And the room in the Central building was quite old and had a leaking water tap."

"This hotel is a hidden gem where I stayed for three nights. It has four floors, with the entrance and front desk located on the second floor, accessible by an elevator. On the first floor, there are separate male and female onsens (hot springs), each with three indoor baths and one open-air bath. The changing rooms are equipped with washing machines and dryers (laundry costs a very affordable 100 yen per wash, and you can buy a laundry pod at the front desk for 100 yen). The hotel offers a set breakfast (included with the stay) and dinner (can be added on arrival for 3300 yen per person), both served individually rather than buffet-style. Breakfast times are 7:00, 7:30, or 8:00 AM, while dinner is at 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, or 7:30 PM. There's a friendly Chinese-speaking staff member from Beijing at the front desk. The guest rooms are Japanese-style tatami rooms, offering views of Lake Toya and a popular photo spot. Each room includes a safe, kettle, cold drinking water, sterilized cups, a writing desk, a table lamp, a massage device, and lotion, among other amenities. The hotel also features a coffee bar and a souvenir shop near the front desk. Each room has a toilet and a sink, but no shower. The only downsides are that the entrance door to the room and the bathroom door are quite low, probably around 1.8 meters, and there's no drying room for ski gear (though with permission, you can place your ski equipment on the floor in the front desk area). The air conditioning has three powerful settings, so it never felt cold. The windows are double-paned."

The warmth of the service is truly the most touching aspect here! From the moment you enter, you're greeted with meticulous and genuine hospitality. Thoughtfully, they arrange for you to change into comfortable slippers and offer a welcome drink; everything flows naturally and without pretense. I particularly remember a young female staff member with glasses who, with her fluent English and attentive, thorough explanations, made me feel incredibly comfortable and respected. Encountering such dedicated individuals during a trip is undoubtedly a rare stroke of luck. And the hotel's facilities are full of surprises! Outside the large public bath, complimentary drinks are available, along with table tennis and arcade games, adding a playful touch to your relaxation. The lobby features Japanese snacks and board games, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere; the relaxation area on the second floor is even more serene and comfortable – once you sit down, you won't want to leave. The dining experience here is simply sublime. Various alcoholic beverages are kept in ice buckets, freely awaiting wine enthusiasts! Dinner is exquisite and innovative; each dish is a stunning work of art, so delicious that it makes you want to return just for the food. Breakfast is delicate and abundant, awakening your taste buds and setting a wonderful tone for the day. The shiso soda thoughtfully provided in the in-room mini-fridge is incredibly refreshing after a hot spring soak, leaving a lasting, pleasant aftertaste. The toiletries have a delicate fragrance, leaving the skin soft and comfortable after use – even these small details are not overlooked. The overall service is friendly and sincere, without being overly familiar, yet maintaining just the right amount of professionalism. It truly feels like a 'just right' luxury experience! The hotel's surroundings are quiet and pristine, and transportation to and from the lakeside is convenient. Whether taking a taxi or using the hotel's shuttle service to JR Toya Station, it's effortless. It feels like Hotel Premium Lake Toya is not just a hotel, but a cherished memory of a journey. Here, the scenery is more than just scenery, and the service is more than just service – it's a reason to return to square one and rediscover the beauty of life."

"The room facilities are a bit old, but the space is decent. The main draw is the good value for money, especially with the half-board option (dinner and breakfast included), which is very convenient even if the variety was a bit repetitive. The best part was definitely the outdoor hot spring, and they also have a shuttle bus to Sapporo Station."

"The room was a good size with a great view of Lake Toya. Someone even came to lay out the futon for us. Dinner felt very special, and the soup was incredibly light and delicious. Breakfast was also very good, with a wide selection at the buffet. The hotel's hot spring was a bit hot, but it was still really pleasant to relax outdoors with the breeze."

"What a fantastic stay! I initially chose this place because I wanted to experience Lake Toya's beauty on a budget, and I was genuinely impressed. While its location isn't as central as some of the more popular hotels, Lake Toya itself is huge, offering unique views from every angle. The traditional Japanese-style tatami room was incredibly spacious – a rare comfortable stay during my Hokkaido trip. The owner was also very kind. I had booked a dinner and breakfast plan for two people, but when they realized I was alone, they doubled down on my dinner portion! The variety was great, and the food was delicious – I ate until I was completely satisfied. Plus, since it's not one of the super popular hotels, it wasn't too crowded. I practically had the hot springs (including the outdoor one!) all to myself in the evening. After my soak, I bought a couple of beers, and enjoying them while watching the snowy scenery brought such a sense of peace. I even went for another dip before checking out in the morning, feeling completely refreshed as I concluded my Lake Toya trip."

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Lake Toya. The highlight of the stay was definitely the room and the view. The location is excellent, with stunning views of Lake Toya and the surrounding scenery. Waking up to the lake view and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere was a memorable experience. One of my favorite parts of the hotel was the rooftop onsen and sauna. The view from the top floor is simply incredible. Early in the morning, I was able to enjoy the sauna and outdoor hot spring while watching the sunrise over the lake, with Mount Yotei visible in the distance. It was one of the most relaxing and memorable experiences of my entire Hokkaido trip. It’s not often that you get to enjoy a sauna, a hot spring, and a spectacular sunrise all at the same time. The service was also very good. The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming throughout my stay. The food was enjoyable with a wide variety of choices available. The ingredients were fresh and of good quality, and there was something for everyone. While I wouldn’t describe the dining experience as luxury or fine dining, the overall quality was very good and I was satisfied with every meal. Overall, this hotel offers an excellent combination of location, views, comfort, hot spring facilities, and service. It was one of the highlights of my trip to Hokkaido, and I would happily stay here again in the future."

"The location is very good, in walkable distance to a lot attractions. Though the room only comes with toilet and washing sink but you can shower downstairs. There’s also a shared toilet outside the room every floor. The room structure is well organised, the sleeping area was very comfortable and you can see Mount Yotei from the room! Some of the reviews mentioned having smoke smell in the room but we were lucky that our room didn’t! Overally it was a very cutesy tatami experience for us. Onsen was good too!"

"There's no front desk service in the early morning, so this place is more suitable for guests who drive. There are no shops nearby either. However, the view outside the window when you wake up in the morning is absolutely beautiful and puts you in a great mood. The bed is large, but the bathroom and bathtub are a bit old. The jacuzzi function on the tub is broken and unusable."

"This hotel is nestled high in the mountains, between Lake Toya and the Sea of Japan. The view from the window is absolutely stunning. They offer a shuttle service from the train station, and there's also a stop for Lake Toya. The Japanese breakfast was incredibly refined and delicious. Unfortunately, my stay was too short, and I didn't get a chance to explore Lake Toya. I'll definitely be back for another two nights!"
