Visit the 'Hells of Beppu', fiery hot springs with their bright red and blue steaming pools or take the Beppu Ropeway cable car to the top of Mount Tsurumi for spectacular views across the town and out to sea.
"One of the nice features of this hotel is that you can enjoy the onsen while looking out over the ocean.
However, it is not very convenient without a car. I walked all the way from Beppu Station before discovering that the hotel offers a free shuttle bus. I’ve attached the shuttle bus schedule—I’d strongly recommend using it.
The room was the biggest disappointment. Although it was advertised as a renovated, high-floor ocean-view room, it still felt very old. The bathroom was especially outdated, and there was a very high step between the bathroom and the room, making it easy to trip. The room really feels like it needs a proper renovation.
Overall, the ocean-view onsen was enjoyable, but the rooms did not match my expectations."

This hotel is located 25 minutes by car from Oita Airport, along the national highway in HijiTown. It is conveniently located 7-8 minutes by car from Harmony Land. Renovated in 2021, many rooms are equipped with 140 cm wide double beds, so you can relax alone or with two people. For families, there are twin rooms and room with bunk beds, and you can also reserve double rooms next to each other. The buffet breakfast is served buffet style.Free coffee and lemon water are available in the lobby. There is also a free gym. Parking is also free.
"We stayed in a room with one double bed for three people, including our elementary school-aged child. While the child's sleeping habits were a factor, one adult had to sleep on the floor, making it quite cramped.
Although it faces a major road, the windows are double-paned, so road noise wasn't a problem. There was ample private parking on the premises, which made moving luggage easy, especially during the summer.
Breakfast was excellent for 500 yen, both in terms of variety and quality!
The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, which our child appreciated.
The inn's amenities, including cleansing oil (makeup remover), were a thoughtful and helpful touch.
While there were many families during the summer holidays, the hotel is small and has a bright atmosphere, making it a cost-effective option for small families or couples who only need a place to sleep and leave quickly."

"It’s perfect for watching sunrise as our room was facing direct east. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and we couldn’t watch that. Location wise is perfect if looking for a getaway in tranquility, otherwise got to drive out for dining or convenience stores. Hotel staff is very polite and friendly. They also serve afternoon snack around 3pm. A very nice gesture especially for guests waiting for check in."

"Do note that it is outskirts of hiji, driving at night is quite quiet. The hotel doesn’t have private bath in the room so do take note as showering will be shared under traditional public bath house. Family bath house is available for booking only, which the staff let us use it during the two nights there. Thank you for the great service!"
