Cheap Hotels in Taitung

"Really enjoyed our stay at Norden. Facilities are ‘hostel’ like so you have access to kitchen, laundry, cafe and even a common area with books and tea area. We got upgraded to a family room which had two huge king beds and a pretty good view. The room was comfy and well equipped. Location super prime - lots of food and a wet market just down the road. Night market is nearby but it wasn’t open on Tuesday so we didn’t visit. Basically everything was walking distance since Tai Tung is so small. Reception is also very friendly and helped us call for a taxi to the train station which came in just 5mins. Overall would recommend and will be back again."

"Pool was under maintenance during the period of stay. Location though at night market was still a distance away from railway station. Taxi fare abt TWD220. There was hotel shuttle service but no clear instructions on how to book in advance. Info not available on trip.com. Concierge staff did not readily offer the service also. Was told only available to members. Not for 3rd party booking. Am disappointed. Room was spacious. 2 queen size beds. But toilet and bathroom were small. Head will hit the door if I sit at toilet bowl and lean just a bit forward. The bathroom door hits the rain shower head, so if not notice, and open the door with force may break the glass door. Yellow lights in the room were very dim. Make ambience cozy and classy but very straining to the eyes. 2 out of 3 laundry machines out of order. Laundry powder did not dispense from vending machine. Hv to change coins at lobby when laundry is at 6th floor. Overall, not quite up to expectations unfortunately."

"An absolutely wonderful stay! Both the late-night snack and breakfast were incredibly generous and delicious. Seriously, the tea eggs were the best I've ever had! Even though it was called a 'late-night snack,' it was definitely dinner-quality. The bathroom had excellent water pressure, which made for a really comfortable shower. Highly recommend!"

"I was already deeply attracted by the unique and tranquil environment of the hotel, but I was even more surprised to find a 'traveler's storybook' in the room! Reading the various sad, happy, or bewildered stories left by past guests who stayed in the same room deeply moved me to tears. I gained immense energy from your stories. Thank you, hotel, for this warm and thoughtful gesture. If I ever have the chance to travel solo to Taitung again, I will definitely stay here once more!! 🥹"

"Very close to Taitung train station, with a parking lot. The area is quiet, and the facilities are simple and bright. I especially liked the wet/dry separated bathroom and the convenient luggage racks. The full-length mirror was great for getting ready. They offer both Chinese and Western breakfast options; while the selection is a bit limited, it's enough to fill you up. We arranged a half-day bike tour through Taitung Forest Park, and the air quality was fantastic. It was a very pleasant and relaxing experience to sit down, enjoy some snacks, and take in the beautiful scenery. So comfortable!"

"The room was spacious with a great wet/dry separation in the bathroom, and having two sinks was a huge plus. The toiletries provided were also very good, and the overall design felt really comfortable. In the common area, they offered snacks, board games, and even had a coffee shop."

"The cat is adorable and enjoys friendly interactions with visitors. It appears that the room lacks soundproofing. Due to ongoing construction in the neighboring building, some noise may be audible. The electric mirror in the bathroom is impressive as it remains warm and prevents water condensation. However, the bathroom fan is a bit noisy, and the hair dryer produces a strong gust of wind. Additionally, the internet password in the room is not easily discernible."

"Taitung is a small town. And so this hotel is pretty much in the “center”  Across the street is a convenience store opening 24 hours. Nearby is a cinema. There are some small shops and bars nearby. If you crave a burger - Burger King is a 10-min walk away.  As for the hotel - it’s got a lot of what business travelers need. 24 hour laundry machines and dryer. It’s got a small gym with treadmill, elliptical, indoor bike and a small weight rack with a bench. The television channels are not very international - with all of the news channels only coming from Taiwan.  My room was clean, and there is a separate shower and toilet area - convenient for couples staying together. Bed is decent, clean and I would say that the room can get quite hot if you don’t turn on the AC. At the evenings, I was awaken a few times from the warmth in the room despite having the AC on. (To be fair - it was 32 degrees Celsius outdoors) Breakfast is very plentiful. From cooked Chinese dishes to simple western breakfast choices like eggs, toast and fruits. Salads are always available and the coffee machine is self serve. (I wasn’t able to find a good Long Black anywhere in this town)  From the hotel to the Taitung train station is about 15mins by taxi. Use Line Go to reserve as it is most convenient. Surprisingly, even during 8:00am on a weekday, getting a cab on this App was easy.  Hope this helps if you have to go to Taitung"

"The location is excellent, just a 3-5 minute walk from the bus stop. Many famous local eateries are nearby, like fried chicken, bubble tea shops, and the rice noodle night market, all within easy reach. This is my fourth stay, and this time I was assigned a room next to the elevator, but thankfully, it didn't bother me. As a light sleeper, I found the bed's firmness just right and comfortable, though the pillow was a bit too soft, and I had to adjust it quite a bit to get comfortable. For my two-night stay, I received a late-night snack voucher on the first day but not on the second (last time I stayed two nights, I got one both days, maybe it was due to a different room rate?). Overall, the space for one person is sufficient. My only real complaint is the bathroom. When brushing my teeth, I had to bend down to avoid hitting the mirror, otherwise, water would splash on the floor. And when showering, I had to be careful not to bump into things when turning around (this wasn't an issue in the twin room I stayed in last time). Despite these minor points, it will still be my top choice when I visit Taitung again."

"Had a fantastic experience! We really enjoyed the hotel's public pools, which offered a variety of temperatures. The 28-degree section was perfect for swimming. The in-room hot springs were also incredibly relaxing; the water stayed warm much longer than regular water. Plus, there were plenty of activities happening in the hotel lobby."
