"I seldom share my experiences in Chinese hotels. That is a mistake. China’s hotels are among the world’s most comfortable and reasonably priced. I am now in the home of chairman Mao and staying at the very comfortable Jianguo hotel. After arriving in Shaoshan (over 38 years since my last visit), I have been overwhelmed by the friendliness of the local people and the staff at the Jianguo hotel. In what may be called one of the more politically important destinations in China, I have found open arms and smiles. My American friends can learn something from this. I am clearly not a local but, even during this time of geopolitical tension, I am receiving nothing less than genuine friendship, no animosity, and this makes me feel optimistic. I hope that we in the United States can learn from the Chinese people’s example. Thank you, everybody at the Jianguo Hotel. including Liu Zheng who personally took me to Chairman Mao’s residence this morning. He offered to do this while eating dinner in the hotel restaurant last night (please try the 香椿拌豆腐). He introduced me to the park’s director and facilitated everything to make this visit so special. Liu Jingli just treated me to lunch and is driving me to the train station. This kind of service I’ve never received before in my hundred plus countries and I think that it is important that we share these stories with the outside world. This hospitality, too, is an essential part of China. (I would argue it is even more real than the news stories we receive out of Washington DC.) Chairman Mao’s home will forever echo with not just memories of the past but optimism of a more respectful and inclusive future."

"A very historical hotel, where the chairman once lived when he returned to Lushan. Although the facilities are old, they are well maintained, the environment is elegant, clean and tidy.
The location is very good, go out and cross the road is Mao Zedong Square, and walk for more than ten minutes on the left hand side is the former residence of the President.
The hotel restaurant is more affordable, and the classic braised pork and pepper fish head are all must-order.
If you are traveling by car, the front desk will make an appointment to enter the scenic spot pass, and the vehicle can drive directly to the hotel.

"This stay experience is really far beyond expectations, I must give this hotel a big praise! From the moment of arrival, the service is very intimate. The hotel specially arranged a special car transfer. The driver was warm and thoughtful. After arriving at night, it saved a lot of fatigue from boats and cars.
When I checked in, the front desk staff also surprised me to upgrade the room type for free. This heart was very touched. When I walked into the room, the first impression was that it was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and there was no smell, which made people relax instantly. The hotel has a superior geographical location, very close to Chairman Mao's former residence, and there are food streets around. The front desk girl's service is very enthusiastic and in place. She also upgraded the room. You can watch the short video. The room facilities are complete, clean and tidy, the mattress is very comfortable, the sound insulation effect is good, especially the hot water is very large. Especially the boss is a non The often enthusiastic people called us from us to tell us how to enter and declare the license plate. Because of negligence, I didn't make an appointment to visit the former residence the next day. It was with the help of the boss who helped me make an appointment for the next day's visit.
