The room was clean, with a separate wet and dry area, and the bathtub was a nice touch for families with kids. The robot service was a big hit with the children. Service: The service could use some improvement, for example, helping with luggage when entering and leaving, providing children's bathrobes and toothbrushes in family rooms, and offering welcome fruits."

"Dated hotel, so generally not as clean. But the beds are clean enough and no bed bugs. Service was great from front desk and housekeeping. Our booking didn't come with breakfast but at check in, staff offered us complimentary breakfast vouchers for one morning. Location is great. There is laundry facility that offers washer/dryer combo machines. But 1/4 machines was broken and when it gets busy, you may not get to use it because some people leave their dirty laundry in the machines for 5+ hours."

"Choosing Hualin Mercure for my trip to Linfen was definitely the right decision, a perfect overall experience! The hotel's location is unbeatable. It's a 5-minute walk to Hualin Gate, an 8-minute walk to Yaomiao Temple, and the Natural History Museum is right downstairs. It’s also very close to Xinbaihui Plaza for dining and leisurely strolls. For those driving, there's a free underground parking garage with charging stations, and they even offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from the West Station, making travel completely hassle-free. The hotel is brand new, with a French light luxury decor that creates an amazing ambiance. The guest rooms are spacious, and the Sealy mattress is soft and comfortable for sleeping. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation, a smart toilet, and an air purifier – everything you could need. The cleanliness and attention to detail are impressive, and the soundproofing at night is excellent. If you opt for a night-view room, you can lie in bed in the evening and enjoy the illuminated Hualin Gate, perfect for stunning photos. The buffet breakfast is full of highlights, offering French pastries like croissants and macarons, as well as local Linfen specialties like beef meatball noodles and local wontons. The combination of Western and Chinese options provides a rich variety of flavors. The 24-hour free gym and self-service laundry room with dryers and irons are also very convenient for longer stays. The front desk staff were gentle and patient, making check-in efficient. They even proactively upgraded my room type, and any requests were promptly addressed. This hotel is suitable for both family trips and business travel. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Linfen!"

"My most delightful surprise when visiting Linfen was staying at the Ancient City Courtyard Museum Hotel. It's not a replica of ancient buildings, but rather three authentic Ming and Qing dynasty courtyards that have been relocated and restored, making it a living museum you can actually stay in. I spent four days and three nights here, truly slowing down to absorb the unique and profound atmosphere of the Pingyang region. The courtyards feature bluestone slabs, old wooden beams, and brick-carved screen walls, with every detail revealing traces of time. Beneath its ancient exterior, the interior is incredibly comfortable, with all modern amenities. The bedding and toiletries are of high quality, and the ancient courtyards offer excellent soundproofing, ensuring a quiet and serene environment, far from the city's hustle and bustle. The butler service is meticulous and thoughtful, and they patiently explain the history behind the courtyards. By day, I explored ancient architectural treasures like Guangcheng Temple, Xiaoxitian, and Fotou Temple, searching for national heritage sites in Southern Shanxi, admiring murals and ancient sculptures, and feeling the awe-inspiring ancient civilization. By night, I returned to this grand courtyard, stepping into a gentle and tranquil past. If you're visiting Linfen to explore historical sites, this hotel is highly recommended. It truly elevates the travel experience, and I would choose to stay here again on my next visit to Linfen."

"Our high-speed train arrived late and departed early, so staying here was incredibly convenient. We could see the hotel sign right from the high-speed rail station. You just follow the red pavement, cross the main road, and then turn right onto the hotel's street. When we checked in, there was a large group of retirees demanding free breakfast from the front desk, threatening to leave bad reviews if they didn't get it. We went out to grab some late-night food and they were still arguing, even making the young lady at the front desk cry. The next day, we walked past the front desk again and encountered two or more of them still yelling at passing staff. It was truly unbelievable; you shouldn't expect a 400-yuan experience from a 200-yuan hotel product. Our one-day trip to Linfen was great though – Hukou Waterfall, Lesser Western Heaven, and Guang Sheng Temple. It was a last-minute plan, and we were pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend it to everyone!"

"The family room was much bigger than I expected, completely different from other hotels where they just cram two beds into one room. It felt like it used to be a suite that was converted, with two connecting rooms each having a large bed. This is perfect for families traveling with older children, as everyone gets their own space. Both rooms were very spacious, the overall decor felt quite high-end, and the cleanliness was also good. What was particularly thoughtful was that all the duvets were summer quilts – I've put up with thick duvets in other hotels for so long, so it's very considerate that this hotel thought of that. The only slight downside was that the room was at the very end of the hallway, and the hotel's layout is a bit odd; it takes a while to walk from the elevator, and dragging luggage along that path was a bit difficult. A nice touch, though, was that the hallway featured many small display cases showcasing Linfen's local culture, history, and intangible cultural heritage. This was great and made the long walk down the corridor less boring. The mini-bar in the room offered complimentary drinks, and breakfast was decent – enough to fill you up, and the local beef meatball noodles were good. Parking was convenient with an underground garage right next door. They also have a gym and a laundry room, so the facilities are good, and you can even order coffee on the first floor. The only minor issue was that the floor drain in the bathroom seemed to have a bit of an odor when we first entered, but flushing water down it fixed it right up. Hopefully, they can address that."

There was also an air purifier in the room, so no smoky smell at all. Breakfast was good too, and the front desk staff were friendly and professional."
