"We upgraded to a tent room, and it was incredibly clean and hygienic. All the toiletries, bath towels, and hand towels were single-use, which was very reassuring. What's truly worth mentioning is the water pressure – the shower was surprisingly powerful, making showering an absolute delight! The water pressure in the city hotels we stayed in the following days couldn't compare to this glamping site. The environment is simply fantastic, offering the quiet solitude of the entire desert. The ATV desert buggy ride takes you to a high peak, which is perfect for amazing photos. Sandboarding was a blast for the kids, and the travel photography captured the beauty of the whole beach without the crowds. Plus, the butler service was excellent – they responded promptly to all our questions and were always available, which was wonderful. Just a heads-up: it can get windy at night, and the tent makes some noise. I was a bit scared at first, but I eventually got used to it. For first-timers, you can sleep soundly; don't worry like I did! 😄"

"This hotel/guesthouse is absolutely fantastic! It's very close to Mingsha Mountain, and the Mogao Grottoes are just a 15-minute drive away. The lovely guesthouse owners prepared welcome apricot tea, and they do an excellent job maintaining the place. Our room was spacious and clean, and the triple room had a balcony, though we didn't use it much. The common areas, both on the rooftop and the ground floor, are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the breeze in the evening – very comfortable."

"I checked in on September 5th, and the price was almost 1300. I just want to say, it was extremely bad value for money. It felt like paying 1300 to stay in a guesthouse. Luckily, I only stayed one night; if I had stayed two, I would have demanded a full refund! The moment I stepped into the hotel, I had a bad feeling, and I was right! Firstly, the service was mediocre, just average. Secondly, we arrived at noon and ordered room service. A plate of vegetarian dumplings for over 30 yuan – I have good reason to suspect they were frozen. And they were served on a plastic plate! After charging a 20% service fee, couldn't they at least use a white porcelain bowl? That wouldn't cost much, would it? The other dishes weren't very good either. Thirdly, the bedding was truly unbearable! I brought disposable bedding, and I didn't need to use it at any other hotel, only at yours! It's genuinely worse than an economy hotel! The hotel is old, and the hardware can't be changed, but couldn't you at least use better soft furnishings? The bath towels were thin and old. Surely, it wouldn't cost much to get better quality ones. I've traveled a lot and I'm not very particular, but your bedding and bath towels were the first that I simply couldn't bring myself to use! Fourthly, I booked this hotel thinking it was close to Mingsha Mountain, worried about getting a taxi at night. But it's actually still a 15-minute walk. Plus, there are plenty of taxis and buses available from Mingsha Mountain at night; outside of the summer holiday, staying in the city center would have been fine. The only praise I have is that the breakfast was pretty good. The beef noodles were freshly made, which I commend. Coffee was also offered."

"The front desk staff were incredibly warm and helpful. They even walked me to the door and patiently explained the local routes. Anything I needed, they promptly brought to my room. I'm planning to stay here again in the winter! It's very close to the night market, but the hotel's design is so well-thought-out that there's no noise at night. They even thoughtfully offered apricot tea! Dining and transportation in the area are very convenient. It's also close to the Dunhuang Museum and several lamb restaurants that locals love, highly recommended! Getting to the Mogao Grottoes, the airport, and the train station is also very easy. The hotel offers affordable shuttle services, which is especially great for those who need it, particularly if you're arriving late at night!"

"This hotel is a hidden gem! The family room is absolutely fantastic. The design is superb, with a large bed, a sofa with a round table, and two sinks. There's plenty of space to hang clothes, and the shower, toilet, and sinks are all separate, which is perfect for a family as everyone can use them without bothering each other. The smart speaker, 'Xiao Du,' controls everything, and the projector works wonderfully for screen mirroring. My kids and I had a great time watching cartoons projected on the wall. The bunk beds were a hit with the kids; they had plenty of space and slept comfortably. They also provided a generous supply of drinking water. Because our flight was delayed, the front desk kindly arranged a late check-out for us, and the service was excellent. The location is convenient, just a fifteen-minute walk to Dunhuang Night Market, and the nearby Huyang Mianbing (braised pancakes) is delicious. The laundry room is a real bonus, with six washing machines and three dryers, plus drying racks – very practical. Breakfast was also outstanding, with a rich variety and high quality, including delicious Zenggao (steamed sticky rice cake). The only minor drawback is that the description mentioned a refrigerator, but there wasn't one in the room. This was the best hotel on our Hexi Corridor trip, and I highly recommend it!"

"I stayed at Dunhuang Yuntian International Hotel for two nights from August 23rd to 25th, and I absolutely have to give it a rave review! I took the train from Lanzhou to Dunhuang. I had informed the hotel of my train number in advance, and to my surprise, they arranged a complimentary pick-up service. As soon as I exited the station, I saw the driver holding a sign waiting for me, and he even helped carry my luggage to the car. This start alone earned them major bonus points. The hotel's location is truly unbeatable, right next to Shazhou Night Market, just a few minutes' walk away. In the evenings, after exploring the night market, enjoying some BBQ, drinking apricot peel water, and buying souvenirs, I could just stroll back to the hotel. No need to worry about finding a taxi or walking too far. The bus to Mingsha Mountain stops right at the entrance, and a taxi to Mogao Grottoes only takes about ten minutes, making it super convenient for sightseeing. I chose a room with a humidifier. Dunhuang is naturally dry in August, and with the humidifier on, sleeping was so much more comfortable; I didn't wake up in the middle of the night with a dry throat. The mattress was a zero-pressure type; you just sink into it, and I slept incredibly well. The hot water came on quickly, and the vanity thoughtfully provided disposable facial towels, which is a nice touch for women. The front desk staff were also very friendly and check-in was fast. Breakfast starts at 7 AM and includes freshly ground coffee, yogurt, fruits, and local snacks. It's great not to have to go out hungry early in the morning looking for food, especially useful for those heading to Mogao Grottoes early. Overall, for this price, to stay in the city center with pick-up service, a rich breakfast, and a clean, comfortable room, the value for money is truly high. I genuinely recommend this place for solo travelers or those bringing family to Dunhuang. I'll definitely stay here again next time!"

"On this trip to Dunhuang, I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel. The customer service manager, Anna, was incredibly helpful and attentive. During peak season, hotel rooms were scarce, and I had only booked one night. Anna assisted me in extending my stay at the discounted platform rate. She also helped me book tickets for 'See Dunhuang Again' and even gave me a 30 RMB fruit voucher. I really appreciate Anna's thoughtful and meticulous service. Although the hotel room wasn't huge, it was very cozy and comfortable. You could even see distant views of Mingsha Mountain from the window. My child was particularly pleased as well."

"Find the favorite homestay in Dunhuang! I really want to recommend it. The overall design is very good. The desert style decoration is beautiful. I was worried about the smell of formaldehyde when I first opened. I was completely worried about it, and there was no smell of decoration at all. The details of the room are very careful. The room type we live in has a private soup pool. After running the scenic spot during the day, we have a soup at night to soothe fatigue and the privacy is very good. The local boss is also enthusiastic. The overall stay experience is very good, and the family can rest assured!"

However, as it's an older property, the facilities show some age, particularly the split-unit air conditioning in the rooms, which doesn't quite meet star-rated hotel standards. The lobby was also undergoing renovations during my stay. Thankfully, the AC units seem to be new, clean, and perform well. There was an issue with the TV that required multiple service calls before it worked correctly, indicating that service could be improved in terms of response time and attitude. Still, I appreciate the complimentary room upgrade. Moreover, the lobby service when I checked out was excellent, with staff holding the door open for me until I left – a really thoughtful touch. "Traveling through the Northwest with kids, we've stayed in many hotels and B&Bs, but this is the only one I felt compelled to review after checking out. I asked the owner to upload some photos, but they're probably too busy to do so. So, a text review it is. What surprised me most was the in-room washing machine. After checking in, we immediately headed to Crescent Spring, and when we returned, our clothes were covered in sand and dust, unwearable. In chain hotels, they usually have only two washers and two dryers for hundreds of rooms, and someone is always monopolizing them, taking ages. If you encounter an inconsiderate guest, you'll be waiting for at least an hour and a half, which is frustrating. This time, I just threw the dirty clothes into our own washing machine, washed and dried them, and the next day we were ready to go, clean and fresh. For those on a road trip, this feature is an absolute lifesaver. The smart home system is also very convenient. Voice-controlled lights and curtains mean you don't have to fumble for switches in the dark with kids, which was a good experience. The room itself is spacious; we could spread out our luggage without feeling cramped at all. I originally wanted to include some room photos, but we were so rushed during our trip that I didn't even take any myself, and the owner hasn't sent the ones I asked for. So, this will just be a pure text review. My only minor regret: the owner mentioned that they couldn't get the linens clean enough, so they are temporarily using disposable towels. While I understand the operational difficulties, for guests, disposable towels simply don't absorb as well or feel as good as regular linens, which slightly impacts the showering experience. I hope they can revert to regular towels soon. Overall, it's clean, spacious, offers the freedom of an in-room washing machine, and is smart and convenient. It's highly recommended for families on a road trip with kids. I had planned to write a separate accommodation summary upon my return, but work and health issues came up, and then it was time for the kids to go back to school, so it's been delayed until now. I wanted to make sure to review this place first, as I genuinely recommend it to anyone who needs it."
