"We booked this 3 star hotel in Adelaide purely for its location close to an event we were attending. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find the lift was out of order. Thankfully, a second lift was operational but only with the down button, but it wasn’t the most welcoming start. Check in was handled by friendly staff who offered a warm smile, though nothing beyond the basics in terms of service. Once we reached our room on the 5th floor, it was hard to ignore the issues: part of the ceiling was missing and the carpets were noticeably dirty. While the room itself was functional, the bed felt more like a slab of timber than a mattress definitely not made for comfort. We left our bag and headed out, but I couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling the hotel gave me. Ultimately, we made the decision not to stay overnight and returned later to collect our bag and check out. This may be a suitable spot for some travellers who prioritise location above all else, but unfortunately, it wasn’t the right fit for us."

"This hotel is located in the heart of Adelaide, South Australia's capital. While it's not a five-star, it's definitely a top-tier four-star. The location is excellent, with a McDonald's right across the street and major supermarkets like Coles nearby. It offers fantastic value for money, especially during holidays. There's also a gym and a swimming pool on the first floor of the hotel."

"Really welcoming and friendly staff who were eager to help wherever they could. We arrived here at the end of our trip from Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road to Adelaide, so the comfort was very much appreciated after spending nights sleeping and living in a campervan. The hostel itself is very clean and maintained. There are multiple TV rooms, a massive chill-out area, and bathrooms that feel more like a hotel than a hostel. We booked a private room with shared bathroom. The room was a good size, with a balcony, a desk, and 2 large, comfortable double bed. It was also air-conditioned. The kitchen is large and well equipped, with multiple fridges and stovetops, as well as a microwave, cleaning products, and recycling facilities. The only downside is that some guests could be tidier and put their things away after washing up / cooking. The location is excellent — right in the centre of the city. You can walk everywhere: the bus station, supermarkets, China/Asian town, restaurants, and Adelaide Central Market are all just minutes away. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here and would happily stay again."

"The room is big and the renovation is new. We drove but the hotel has no car park. We need to park to a car park which the hotel offered us a cheaper daily rate (multiple entries / exits). The car park is not bad but we needed to walk like 10 mins with lugguages. It is more desirable if the car park is closer."

"The location of this hotel was a huge plus! It's right on a commercial street, and you can easily walk to supermarkets and major attractions, making for a really pleasant city walk. If you're driving, it's very convenient; the hotel offers paid parking, or you can walk to a nearby public parking lot which is cheaper on weekends. I'd recommend finding public parking nearby for better value. Overall, getting around and commuting was stress-free, and it was super easy to go shopping and sightsee. The whole experience was excellent."

"The rooms and hotel amenties are as expected because is holiday inn ”express” . The service response is fast from the frontdesk. However, room cleanliness is very much lacking 1. There was a plastic wrapper and chuck of dust dirt at corner of room when I check in. The following day after cleanup was done and I return to room in late afternoon. Wrapper and dust remains untouch at corner. I have to call the front desk to ensure following day cleaning team will vaccum and do a proper clean up. 2. Air vent above the shower area was filled and clot up with black dirt. I just avoid looking at it as disgusting 3. There are dead insects stuck on the shower door rubber *****. I tried to wash it away but as need to pull out the seal I left it and again avoid eye contact.🤮 4. Pillow case has brown stains at ths edge. I had to request for a new piece. Additionally the mattress has dents and clumpy, so I was unable to sleep as feeling itchy through out night with images of dirt insects flashing through my thoughts. Coupled with the loud music and noises from below. I reserve the rooms more than 3 months before trip and request for high floor as saw reviews on the noise. BUT was not block for us so end up on the 2nd floor. I wont stay in this hotel again. Basics facilities is ok but cleanliness is very important"

"The Terrace Hotel in Adelaide was in our opinion, a Three Star Hotel. Shower over the bath is not suitable for eighty year olds as you could fall very easily. The room had a reasonable size balcony with no furniture at all to encourage you to use it. There was only one chair in the room for a possible four people and reception could not help in getting a second chair. The room could certainly do with an upgrade, especially painting of doors etc. Small amount of mould over the bath/shower. On the better side, the room was a good size and the beds reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was of a good standard. We found transport was available at a short distance. With all this in mind we probably would choose not to use the hotel again."

The Hotel Windsor, Melbourne (Worst value for money) The Park Hyatt Melbourne stood out as having the best service among all 11 hotels. We arrived around 5:00 PM and were informed our room wasn't quite ready, requiring a 10-15 minute wait. Before I could even react, the front desk staff immediately offered complimentary breakfast for the next day as an apology, along with a voucher for two drinks at the lobby bar while we waited. Of course, we happily accepted! The hotel's location is a little outside the very center, situated behind Parliament House and right next to St. Patrick's Cathedral, which you can see from the rooms. Fitzroy Gardens, home to Cook's Cottage, is also within walking distance and worth a visit. I was very impressed with the hotel's amenities. The room even had a three-prong power outlet, a feature I didn't find in any other hotel. The 'old money' decor gave it a grounded and understated elegance. Breakfast was excellent and very extensive, with freshly made Western pastries that were incredibly delicious. I heard their flat white is even better than those from popular specialty coffee shops. The heated pool was long and narrow, feeling like it was definitely more than 25 meters. There's also a tennis court available for A$50 an hour, though you need to bring your own racket."

"Centrally located, check-in only required a credit card number, no deposit was held. The room and bathroom were spacious, and the windows could be opened. The bed was clean and comfortable. The room was equipped with a kettle, refrigerator, hairdryer, air conditioning, shampoo, and body wash. There were also complimentary coffee sachets, tea, and milk. The free WiFi worked well."

"We are a family of 5 and we booked 3 rooms for 3 nights. The hotel did not give us rooms on the same floor. They said they had no idea that we were traveling together as I did not tell them we were traveling together. I answered the reservation of the 3 rooms was made under ONE booking, does it tell you we are traveling together or I was just booking the other 2 rooms for strangers .....The receptionist was speechless then, but nothing she could do as the hotel was fully booked she said. We showed up after the check in time of 2pm, but one of the rooms was not cleaned up yet and hence not ready, the other room had AC problem and also not ready. We spent 30 minutes in the reception trying to check in.... The room was noisy, after midnight bid noise came from the main door and toilet area basically every hour, waking us up in the middle of the night a few times. First I thought it was someone banging at the door, or a cleaner cleaning in the lift lobby. I opened the door but found nobody. The noise was consistent for the whole 3 nights. Other than the above, the hotel is well located and the price is reasonable. The staff at the reception are basically nice and helpful."
