"Stayed 2 nights here to visit the Cosmos and the Bilby Centre. Cosmos at night was spectacular with their $25000 telescopes. Very welcoming friendly helpful manager and room staff at the Charleville Motel. Good clean modern room with a comfy bed. Under cover car space right outside the door. Little out of town but nearly everything needed to be driven to anyway. The automated weather balloon release at 9:15am at the airport was interesting. Royal Flying Doctor was really worth a visit. The WWII Secret Base was an extremely informative attraction. And everyone loves a Bilby. You must try the big seat and see the water tower at night. First or last stop should be at Heinemans Bakery."

"Very clean and comfortable. The pool was great to cool off. The kids had a great time. Very helpful and willing to assist so we could have a barbecue. Will definitely stay again. Quiet location - could not hear the passing traffic at all. Will recommend to others."

"Suggest you book, we were lucky - and you might be too. A limited menu, but nowadays with staffing, they seem to stick at what they are good at. Don’t be put off by the average 3.0 score - we would have probably given it a miss if not for the recommendation of our accommodation provider."

Charleville Motel ★★★
"Stayed three nights at this place. Best place to stay in Charleville. Professionally cleaned room with required facilities provided including Microwave, which is important to me for warming up my vegetarian food. Quite location and Value for money charged. New management may consider keeping plates which is shortfall for me. Manju 13/01/2025"

Mulga Country Motor Inn ★★★
"This is a secret gem within Charleville. Located between town and the airport, it is run by a welcoming young couple who can tell you where the best coffee and food in town is. But here is the secret- you won’t want to dine anywhere else. Dinner can be provided in a room service type style with a limited but appealing selection of five dishes. THE FOOD IS PHENOMENAL. I had the best steak of my life here and wish I had had time to try every dish. I am going back to Charleville just to eat here again. Other positives are - despite being dated ( and I believe they are slowly modernising the decor) - the rooms are extremely clean, the water pressure is fantastic and complementary bottled water is provided in the fridge for those who don’t wish to drink the tap ( bore) water. Can’t recommend enough."

Cattle Camp Hotel ★★
"My husband and I frequently travel through Outback Queensland and we stopped for a night in Charleville. We booked one night at the Cattle Camp Hotel and spoke to the very friendly and helpful Karen over the phone. Normally we read the reviews first but made the mistake and read them after we booked. All the reviews were bad, bad,bad but we decided to go in have a drink and check it out for ourselves. The minute we opened the door to the public bar and hadn’t even stepped into the bar we were greeted by Tahlia the barmaid with a big smile and hello which made us feel welcome and comfortable immediately. The two fellas sitting at the bar also greeted us and we soon worked out one of them was the infamous publican. After a few drinks we decided to go for a feed at the Corones Hotel. Big mistake! The drinks were expensive and it was the worst food ever so hightailed it back to the Cattle Camp. Ended up having a great chat with the publican who was nothing like the reviews make him out to be. Sure he would be a hard taskmaster with his staff and Im sure wouldnt suffer fools lightly. As we left the bar he gave me a stubbie cooler as a gift. All in all a great cosy pub with great big clean and reasonably priced rooms. We understand there will be a new owner taking over soon and hopefully Tahlia will stay on as she is a great asset to the pub. Will definitely stay here again on our way through. Don’t listen to the other reviews and find out for yourselves, it’s a great pub."
