Cumberland Motor Inn
"Good."
Bellbird Hotel
"Went there for a meal and catch up with friends as 3 couples. We are locals. We haven't been there since the renovations were done. Nice renovations to the hotel. Excellent live band playing in new outdoor area. Drinks prices are reasonable and staff friendly. The $15 lunch menu during the week is probably ok. Before the renovations, the meals were reasonably priced, great value and a large serves. . BUT. The Dinner menu is expensive, poor to average quality and small. Most of the meals were overdone on our table. Different Kitchen Staff. They are now affiliated with another hotel in the Hunter Valley which is also expensive compared to other local pubs meals. They advertise a Courtesy Bus, but No Bus is running. A major disappointment. Unlikely to go back as locals. We will stick with other pubs and clubs in Cessnock area."
Wine Country Motor Inn
"A comfortable living environment"
Potters Apartments
"Clean and receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Will stay again."
Cessnock Motel
"Trip.com had the description wrong and we ended up with a small queen room. Receptionist could have paid more attention to what I was saying and offered to upgrade us for free or a charge instead of acknowledging there was an issue. Also, vanity drain hole either dirty or stained but otherwise the room was clean."
Cedars Mount View (Adults Only)
"The most perfect stay! Such a well appointed, considered and spotless villa. From check in to check out, Christelle was kind and helpful. She organised us a great dinner at muse, wine tour and the villa was stocked with delicious breakfast goodies, welcome treats and champagne. The property was like something out of a fairytale. Beautiful spots to explore, incredible sounds from the birds and water. I couldn’t recommend this stay more."
Khartoum Hotel
"Excellent hotel!"
Aussie Rest Motel
"This was a comfortable motel, which suited us very well, as we went to a family gathering nearby. The room was small but adequate. Most things worked well - kettle, toaster, hairdryer, one bed lamp, ceiling fan and a particularly good television. We had no need to use the aircon or the microwave. There is an exceptionally good and solid table to work or eat at, etc; plus comfortable chairs, in addition to a little table and chairs outside. The bathroom was very small, but also adequate and the shower had a strong flow of water, and the floor wasn’t particularly slippery. There were rails and hooks to hang towels. A washer was supplied. The plug in the basin held water, but it was awkward to fill the kettle which didn’t fit under the tap. Forget the BBQ area - that was just a big ashtray! We didn’t see any sign of breakfast or crockery/cutlery, but there would be something available nearby. The carpet looked new but probably not laid properly as it had ripples. Wardrobe was good size and there were coat hangers. There were no tissues. Everything was clean."
Paxton Hotel
"The restaurant was very loud but it had been renovated since last visit looked nice.but the food was Very disappointed this time the crumbed cutlets were the smallest I’d ever seen the vegetables looked liked they had been thrown on the plate. The salad that came with the chicken schnitzel was mainly onion. The background music too loud hard to have a conversation with friends unless you’re leaning over the table."

Hunter Valley Travellers Rest Motel
"In desperate need of a refresh and refurb, left as soon as the kids woke the next morning as felt ick. Carpet was worn, had ants crawling over the bed, fridge had excessive surface rust and a/c was spitting ice out when turned on, with no fan or windows able to be opened (during heatwave). The oddest part were the two bedside lamps with light globes that were purely decorative as there were no power points they could reach so had to use bright overhead lights to feed baby overnight. Signs in foyer suggest 5% discount if you book directly and not a third party website however was charged surcharge for using eftpos upon arriving. Price was on par with other local hotels but quality did not seem to be. Will not be returning."
Cessnock Hotel, Hunter Valley
"Lunch was very good. Lamb cutlets , spring rolls and salt and pepper squid between us. The bistro specialises in Thai and I’d like to have been there for dinner tomorrow try one of the soft shell crab dishes. Good prices too. Worth a visit if you are in the area"
Florence Cottage, 10 minutes from Hunter Valley Vineyards. Family friendly.

Cottages on Mount View
"My husband and I took my Mom there for a midweek break and had a lovely time. The cottages really quite well spaced apart giving you ample privacy and they are well appointed. When we arrived the cottage was lovely and clean, with a basket with breakfast provisions on the table. We stayed in the cottage with the outdoor spa, and there’s a wood burner with plenty of wood provided. The hosts are really friendly and accommodating and the location is great for touring around. My only criticism is that the cottage gets quite cold overnight on winter nights, so consider bringing slippers"
The Studio Retreat perfect for a quiet romantic break. Pet friendly, hot tub.
