"Beautiful remodel but the train is a problem. I always base my reviews first and foremost on the quality of sleep and 2-4 train whistles throughout the night does not allow for sleep. That’s my main reason for 3 stars. Also, the service is not up to the standards of four stars or above. One girl was on her phone constantly - several interactions with her were distracted, making me feel like a nuisance as a result. Other front desk staff were extremely casual in their appearance and attire. As ambassador elite members, we had breakfast vouchers to use at the restaurant. On Sunday we arrived at 10:45 to be told the kitchen was closed. The sign said 11 (and we were told 11 at check in). When we persisted, it became a big scene involving the cook coming out and saying things like “you’re really making me earn my keep.” She also had a loud conversation with the wait staff about last call being 15 minutes before close. Just not professional and embarrassing for us. Another minor issue, which is a pet peeve, is that the bed was made way too short and too tight to pull the covers past the shoulder. It is a very beautiful hotel - clean rooms and well appointed decor. But I can’t get over the other problems to go back. Downtown Bryan is a bit deserted and pretty far out for us."
