It was my first time staying here and was really surprised how peaceful it was, room was very clean, spacious and had a very comfy bed. Only a 10 min walk to the supermarket, cinema, shops and restaurants, but the best thing I found with staying at the days inn is its services and dedicated staff members. From management to the receptionists to the cleaning crew. Always met with a smile and are very welcoming. No matter what I needed I.e tea , coffee, fresh towels, fresh bedding, directions, bins, a phone charger or even just a quick chatt before heading out. If they have it it's yours. Big shout outs to Jess, Rihannon and angila who have literally gone out of their way to help me even when busy ! My experience really would not be the same without them !! A big Thankyou also to Nathan the manager for putting together such a great team and making my stay a fantastic one. In short the reason why this place is enjoyable is because of the people who take care of you in it .

After an horrendous experience the night before, staying at Blanco's Hotel in Port Talbot, it was wonderful to return to this smart, comfortable, beautiful guest-house that we had stayed in some years previously. Tony the owner welcomed us in like old friends, our room was clean, bright and very comfortable with added features such as a fridge, microwave and even wine glasses for guests who don't want to dine out. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff who have all worked at Hazelwood for years were attentive, polite and friendly. The breakfast was amazing, with a choice of cooked or continental breakfast, served in a cosy, beautifully set out dining room. I loved the 'proper' tablecloths and napkins and matching crockery, a stylish touch that made breakfast feel like a real treat - which it was! We left feeling that we had had a really relaxing break. We have already decided to make this our base when we return to Wales in September. Excellent value for money too! Highly recommended.

One of the nicest hotels i’ve been to so far, great experience, nicest staff, very friendly and all eager to help, great atmosphere, rooms are lovely and cozy, the beds are nice and soft. There a good spots to eat from, subway, costa, greggs, whsmith and there’s a petrol station right next to it which is amazing.

Just got back from a golf and spa weekend as a group of 6. Reception service really good. Room was lovely. Bed was a bit hard for me but partner liked it (personal preference). The men had golf included and us women had the spa included. As far as I know, the lads enjoyed the golf course- preferred the PGA course over the Lake course. They did say it is a long walk especially if you’re older and less able- I would recommend buggies! The spa was lovely, provided with robes, slippers and a towel. We had a 50 min treatment included. I had the facial and back massage which was really relaxing! Bar service was brilliant. Drinks not too pricey unless you want cocktails. On to our 3 course evening meal we had included. You have a set menu if your 3 course meal is included in your package. Fair few things to choose from. The food was lovely- we had the steak which was really good and all cooked to our liking. Cannot fault the food at all, however, the service- although really friendly, it was extremely slow. Our table was at 8.30 and we didn’t leave the restaurant till gone 11.30, this wasn’t down to sitting talking- this was from waiting between each course. We were all so stuffed and as you can imagine wasn’t too pleased eating such a huge meal so late. We had breakfast in the morning which was buffet. The breakfast was spot on, help yourself to full cooked breakfast or continental (yogurts, cereals, pastries)- all yummy. The man who came round offering tea or coffee was really efficient and friendly. You can also help yourself to a selection of juices. Our second day although we weren’t allowed to go in the spa which we initially thought we had included, we could use the leisure facilities (wet facilities) including the pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. We were able to shower after as you get given a towel. Overall we all really enjoyed our weekend!

Arrived and checked in but room was +30 degrees and radiator on full. The valve on the rad was set to cold so clearly broken. I reported to reception and went out for dinner having been told someone would have a look. I got back around 9pm, rad still on and room belting hot. Asked again at reception for help. Someone came up and tried to turn the rad off - she agreed it was broken and that the room was very hot. The solution was: well the heating goes off soon so it will go off along with everyone else - I asked for a fan and was given one. Room was belting hot all night. Did not sleep at all. Asked at reception the next morning and was told. This is the way it is. We don’t want customers changing the valve so all the rads are on full all the time and people aren’t allowed to change them. This is ridiculous, either a blatant lie or the stupidest policy any hotel has ever had. Regardless I asked for it to be turned off because I had no sleep and couldn’t do another night. Was told maintenance would see to it while I was at work. I came back at 5pm. Rad was still on blasting, room unbearable- no choice but to go out and wait until the building heat went off again. No sleep for 2 nights. 7 hour drive there and 7 hour drive home for this. Unbelievable- things go wrong, I have no issue, but no fix offered and felt lied to by the receptionist on the second morning - I can’t believe the policy is for all the rads to be on like this all the time, especially given the girl who came up the night before tried to turn it down and told me she agreed it was broken. Avoid this place is my advice. I certainly won’t be going back.

Stayed one night to save having to leave at an ungodly hour from Liverpool for a visit to the University. Lovely welcome from Reception. The twin room was great and perfect for us. The tea and coffee making facilities are adequate, there are plenty of plug sockets and USB ports, lots of coat hangers and a luggage rack, a flat screen TV (I had no problems with it, which is unusual for me with hotel room TVs!) and a hairdryer in the room. In the bathroom were soaps, shampoos and shower gels and plenty of towels. The room was quiet and the beds really comfortable and we slept like babies! Breakfast was lovely. I had the full Welsh breakfast (minus the cockles!) there was lots of it and it was delicious! My daughter had the continental breakfast and there was a lot of choice - cereals, fruits, pastries, yoghurts, etc. I thought the breakfasts were great value for money and the restaurant staff were friendly and professional, as were all the members of the hotel staff. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
