The location is excellent, with great food and attractions all within walking distance – truly superb. The service was exceptional and genuine; both the front desk staff and housekeeping were wonderful, and even the lobby concierge was very polite, unlike some issues mentioned in other reviews. However, despite such a fantastic location and excellent service, the room itself was a major letdown due to its age and a strong musty smell. You could tell the room was well-maintained and spotlessly clean, but the musty odor from the old carpet and the wobbly mattress, which didn't fit the bed frame, made for a very uncomfortable stay. The pungent smell triggered my allergic rhinitis, and I constantly felt nauseous. I'd feel fine as soon as I left the room, but my chest would tighten up the moment I re-entered. My partner developed an allergic cough overnight and couldn't sleep well, tossing and turning. Even worse, the mismatch between the mattress and the bed frame caused violent shaking with every turn, feeling like motion sickness. After one night, we had no choice but to abandon such a great location and excellent service and find another hotel.

A special shout-out to Linda at the front desk! Her service was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, and she communicated with such patience. She had a constant smile, handled everything efficiently, and truly made our stay so much more enjoyable. She's incredibly reliable!

Decided to stay at a 5* hotel as it was my birthday.  Room was smaller than expected and the check in lady said room was upgraded which didn’t appear to be as room appeared to be basic. As it was my bday i asked the hotel if they had anything complimentary for someone celebrating their bday to which she said fruit platter then added some dim sum..acceptable but would be nice if they arranged without me asking.  
Hotel is a bit old and they were renovating so very noisy during day.  The breakfast was very good as had good variety of food.  Location is also convenient as 2 mins from metro.
Reception is big but not enough seats
All in all would hv expected something more for a 5* hotel

I booked an Executive Room, and it was unexpectedly perfect!

Service: I was escorted from the front desk on the first floor to the Executive Lounge on the third floor for check-in. It was quiet and efficient; I just sat comfortably and waited. The staff on this floor were noticeably a cut above – all tall, beautiful, and with lovely voices. They could all provide service in three languages, and their Cantonese was perfectly modulated, soft and soothing, truly melting your heart. While I was in a blissful daze, the staff even arranged a room upgrade and late check-out for me – super happy! 🥳

On the night of check-in, they gave us a welcome gift and a handwritten card as a small anniversary present. 🥰🥰🥰

Perhaps due to the late check-out service, the room card's magnetic strip had a slight issue, but it was resolved quickly and smoothly – excellent job!

Every staff member I encountered, at all levels, had genuinely radiant smiles, not forced at all. The entire team is well-trained, and the salaries and benefits must be good around here – truly living up to the 'White Swan' name. ☺️

Dual Executive Lounge Privileges: By the time we checked in, it was past afternoon tea, so we enjoyed the evening cocktail hour. There was a variety of basic mixes, and they could even make non-alcoholic versions for ladies and children. Besides small snacks, there were various Western appetizers, nuts, cookies, and cheese to pair with red wine. Vegetable salads and fruits were also available, along with Chinese dishes like chicken wings and braised ox tongue – you could easily have a full meal! 🤣 Unfortunately, we only had a little bite before heading to the pool.

Cleanliness: All mirrors and metal surfaces in the room were sparkling clean, the bathtub was spotless, and the bedding was soft and comfortable.

Facilities: The heated infinity pool has an accompanying hot tub and changing rooms with showers. The large towels were clean and soft. Right next to it is the spa, separated for men and women, with both dry and wet saunas. There are attendants to guide and introduce you, so you won't feel lost.

What's particularly worth mentioning is the landscaping. The gardeners have meticulously trimmed and maintained all the flowers and trees. The plants are thriving and blooming, with no obvious signs of being haphazardly planted and replaced when they die. Especially those very old staghorn ferns – their blossoms smell wonderful, giving a full tropical vibe. The Koi pond's water quality is excellent, and the fish are healthy and lively!

The White Swan finally showed me the true meaning of 'feeling at home.' When checking out, the staff member bid me farewell with 'see you next time,' and I genuinely look forward to it.

Very close to Guangzhou Station, the hotel has been renovated and the facilities are new. Although the room isn't big, the layout is decent and everything you need is there. It's also convenient for dining nearby, making it a good value for business trips.

Excellent!

First off, the hotel's location right on Shamian Island is fantastic, with Shamian Island Scenic Street just downstairs – perfect for photos! (Just a heads-up for subway users: if you're coming from Huangsha station, you'll have to lug your luggage up and down stairs to cross a pedestrian bridge, which is quite a struggle! I wonder if the hotel could offer a luggage assistance service near the subway exit; I'm sure many guests would appreciate it.)

Secondly, the front desk service was absolutely outstanding! A special shout-out to Ms. Chen Yijie – her service was impeccable, patient, meticulous, and thoughtful. Five stars for her, truly wonderful!

Lastly, the room size, soundproofing, and breakfast were all pretty good! What you see is what you get. Wishing the hotel great success!

I absolutely loved this hotel! The bedding was clean and fresh, and the decor style really spoke to me. The hotel is perfectly situated on Shamian Island, making the location fantastic. It's super convenient for getting around, with the metro station very close by. Taking a leisurely stroll around the island in the evening was incredibly atmospheric. You can spot all sorts of European historical buildings everywhere, and every photo you take turns out great – it's so relaxing and therapeutic.

I stayed for three days, and the experience was fantastic. The hotel staff provided excellent service, basically accommodating every request. The only minor issue was finding some hair on the sofa that hadn't been cleaned when I checked in. All the staff I encountered were very polite, and the large balcony for drying clothes was a thoughtful touch, perfect for guests who need to wash and dry clothes daily. The environment is unparalleled; compared to high-rise hotels, this old city garden design has a richer cultural charm. This established brand is definitely trustworthy. It's surrounded by authentic Guangzhou snacks and is convenient for getting around. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

The hotel environment is first-class. The front desk ladies, Xiao Cao and Xiao Qiu, were incredibly thoughtful. They helped us upgrade to a lake-view twin room (I was traveling with my mother this time, and had originally booked a mountain-view room). In the evening, we ordered the 'tangzhuo' fragrant pork set meal at the lakeside restaurant. The pork was very aromatic with no ***** smell, and had a great texture. The fish was also very fresh and delicious. While the breakfast selection was a bit limited, for just over 300 a day, including breakfast, the environment and service offer excellent value for money. If you go in the summer, swimming and soaking in the hot springs would be a lot of fun. The air quality here is fantastic, and transportation is convenient with plenty of parking. You can also take the subway and then a short taxi ride from the station.

The service was excellent; the staff at the restaurant, lobby, and even the doorman were all very attentive. The location is fantastic – right next to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, and the subway station is just a 3-minute walk away. Beijing Road Pedestrian Street is only about 10 minutes away, making dining very convenient. I did see comments about the carpet having an odor and the furniture being old, and those points are true. However, I still believe in the quality of a 4-star hotel, and I was very satisfied overall.

I brought my mom here based on a travel blogger's recommendation. The blogger mentioned that the front desk helped with luggage upon arrival, but we didn't receive that service. The location is excellent; it's lovely to stroll along the river after dinner, and it's very convenient to get to the old town. We were given complimentary fruit. The cleanliness was just so-so, and some areas felt a bit dated. My main complaint is that the floors are thin, and the soundproofing from upstairs is poor. We unfortunately had children staying above us who were running barefoot at 11:30 PM, during naptime, and again at 6 AM. I reported it to the front desk staff, hoping they could speak to them, but instead of potentially offending the guests, they offered to move us to another room. I declined because I didn't want the hassle of packing and moving all our luggage. Unfortunately, the noise continued on the second night. This was quite bothersome to me.

The hotel is located in Songkou Ancient Town, making it convenient for exploring the surrounding area. The location is excellent. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The hotel's exterior is beautiful, and even more picturesque on rainy days. 😍😍
The hotel is a renovated historic building, and some of the design elements (such as the windows) retain their nostalgic character. 🏠🏠 The rooms are bright, clean, and very comfortable.
The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, sharing detailed information about nearby attractions. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 It was pouring rain when we checked out, but the front desk staff not only reminded us to drive to the hotel's location, but also held an umbrella for us and helped us load our luggage into the car. Very thoughtful. 🥰🥰🥰

Hygiene: Spotlessly clean.

Facilities: The smart home features were a bit finicky. At night, the toilet would often auto-flush and open its lid even when no one was around. The lights also had a sound sensor, turning on with any noise when I was trying to sleep. Furthermore, the shampoo and shower gel bottles were constantly knocked off by the shower hose and were difficult to dispense. These are areas that definitely need improvement.

Facilities (positive aspects): On the positive side, the bathtub was excellent, complete with disposable bath liners and bath salts. Disposable toilet seat covers and other small amenities showed great attention to detail.

Environment (positive aspects): It was also lovely to enjoy a drink and moonlight on the rooftop in the evening. Both the room and balcony were very spacious, as was the bathroom. The toilet was pristine, with no odd stains, which speaks volumes about their hygiene standards.

Environment (location): The hotel's location within a pedestrian street was perfect for shopping and sightseeing. However, parking outside the hotel proved to be a major inconvenience.

Service (overall impression): I specifically chose this hotel because of the White Swan brand, and overall, I had a very positive experience. 👍

The hotel isn't in the bustling city center, which makes it pretty quiet. It's about 8 kilometers to Guangji Bridge and Paifang Street. The decor is quite modern and looks clean and tidy. Parking is also very convenient. For over 1000 RMB on Chinese New Year's Day, it was a pretty good value-for-money option during the Spring Festival. Even though there were a lot of guests recently, including tour groups, the front desk and restaurant staff handled everything seamlessly. On the contrary, their attitude was friendly and well-organized, and the restaurant cleared tables and dishes incredibly quickly. Highly recommend! The young lady at the front desk, whose surname I think was Huang (I peeked at her name tag), was very pretty and had a lovely smile. She explained everything in great detail, no matter how small. So, when it comes to service, it really depends on the individual staff, not just the hotel's star rating.
